This is a joke. There's so much wrong with all this I don't even know where to start.

But first things first. Plans don't fail, mate. People fail. Everyone just finds it far easier to blame an eating plan (like slimming world) because its takes the attention away from themselves and what they shove down their cake holes. The truth is. People haven't got their shit together with their food.

If you gained loads of weight (and if you care)... guess what - you failed!
Doesn't matter if that's calorie counting or Slimming World or Weight Watchers or Keto or Atkins or 5:2 or whatever...

Also, I've never in all my years heard any consultant say that a gain was caused by not eating 'enough' syns. That's ridiculous. They should be fired.

A binge is a binge. It would have a big effect whatever the eating plan was.

Stop chatting shit.
Take it you're SW consultant?
Or maybe you're just another chubber like the rest of us not ready to admit they've wasted £'s over the years funding mags yacht.
Or maybe you're one of 10+ year SW veterans that loses over and over again and I touched at nerve?

To be honest I don't particularly give a fuck either way, but if you are an SW consultant (certainly smells like you are, can practically smell the waft of eggy syn free swiss roll farts from here) i'm fucking glad i'm not in your group with your shit attitude and I feel sorry for those still lingering and supporting your dying business.

Oh and MATE this is a public forum i'll post what the fuck I want, shoving food down my cake hole or not....
oh and I say this with kindness, I know times are hard at SW with anyone with half a brain cell fucking off to do CC, but if my post on here about SW is getting you so angry and vexed maybe its time to confide in your GP about your issues rather than your district manager.
Try to calm down MATE it's a Sunday afterall, 😘

Short version is if we decided to not take €4pp and go online and take the government handout instead we had to reinterview for our jobs, even though we were self employed, they had our license and made the decisions. I had a small group and couldnt refuse 350pw for maybe €50 🤷‍♀️ i decided at the very start to support every person for free. I ran free online groups, rang people everyday, sent cards etc. Then they decided 3 weeks in to shut down to charge people and my hand was forced. Almost 5 years running groups.......they push you every week to get members. No number is enough. I reached 70, i was told to get more. I ran groups most weeks at a loss because of their cut. I loved it. I loved my members but they took all the joy out of it. The pressure is immense.
Someone needs to go undercover and expose them because they market themselves as this caring auntie, when they're just a ruthless, greedy business model

I have to say, I lost 3 stone on slimming world and eventually gained it all back through the pandemic and tried to lose it again beginning of the year with calorie counting but it all fucked up my head. I realised I was burnt out by dieting...and growing up with a mum who was always doing slimming world and eventually just barely eating anything. For some fucked yo reason i wanted to be like her.

but this year I began feeling so exhausted from years of these diets I just decided fuck it all off and not in a "I'll get back to it Monday" kind of way.
My life is far too short to go back and forth between slimming world and CC, it's so tiring.

I stopped dieting. I started cooking food I liked and eating what I want within reason and I started running 3 times a week for my mental health alone. I'm pretty sure I've dropped some weight since but I've completed couch 2 5K and I'm now running 5K 3 times a week and drinking more water than ever and I feel SO free from counting calories or syns. It feels incredible.

I genuinely forgot what life could be just seeing food as food and exercising and doing things for your mental health not your weight. It's genuinely joyous.

I could be slimmer (14) with size 16 hips ha but I think this is my happy weight.
Sorry for the ramble!
Congrats, I'm glad you managed to find the balance and step away from SW. I have to say, I've lost 13st in 3 years and kept it off and I want to step away from slimming world because I have grown to despise it, but I'm scared to. There are so many that stop it and pile it back on and I am determined that I will not be one of them. It's funny cause I dont see foods as bad or good, I've made some good friends in my group and I've known my consultant, who has helped me so much for more than a decade and I feel like I'd be letting her down if I stopped going.

I'm honestly at a crossroads with it.

I notice on that new joint page, there's all this talk of starting fresh & rejoining (which fair enough, rejoining & restarting is hard) but I found this statement odd... "Aaron had a super early working day so he will be joining me at group next Saturday"... No mention of the fact he is a consultant with his own group 🤔
yeah, that first week went well didn't it...

first week and he had a gain... but he thinks he's lost unofficially... what???

I won the euromillions last night, unofficially, but I won it all the same...

meanwhile over on facey....

@Poppyray23

A hangover from SW is I still have exactly 30 GR of cheese. 🥴
Hhaha the 30g of fucking cheese and 40g of oats etc. I'm calorie counting and can't stop doing that shite.
Its stupid in my case though cos I don't bat an eye scarfing down a takeaway pizza from 1* hygiene bossman down the road with probs half a kilo of cheese on top but when i'm making an omelette, jacket etc at home I get twitchy about the thought of a shred too many.

Nobody has blamed the plan for 'failing'
Most people on here have stated how SW had fuelled or even caused their eating issues.
It certainly fuelled mine.
I lost 9 stone whilst doing slimming world.
Have kept most of it off but through calorie counting.

I've been to 5 different groups and every single one, the consultant at some point has blamed someone's weight gain on not eating enough syns.

Slimming world creates bad relationships with food.
Using the word 'syn' is bad enough in itself.
The plan does not teach portion control either which is something I can guarantee 90% of SW members need to learn

Maybe I’m a bit of a wet rag but I hate, hate, hate violence. My uncle was killed by one punch. Watching grown men smack ten bells out of each other on a Saturday night makes me sick to my stomach. As much as I’m not a fan of Ross, I feel sorry for him as if he genuinely did nothing wrong (which is sadly often the case) then there’s so excuse for it and it’ll take a long time to mentally recover from it.

i need tattle advice, do I have a right to be angry right now? I will give you the details.

For a while in group we have donated to a member of the social teams daughter, we bring an item of food for slimmer of the week and we also bring a item for the social teams daughter who lives in a town not too far away. We renamed the donation basket to the food bank to protect the daughters identity and dignity, but it’s agreed the donations goes to the social teams daughter as she doesn’t work and struggles financially.

I dropped a food blender off recently for the social teams daughter at her house, when I was invited in, I was asked if I want a coffee and she told me she had just spent £1,000 on a bean to cup machine. Afterwards I thought something doesn’t seem right.

We all had a meal planned for the Woman of the Year at a local restaurant and we paid a £10 deposit each, there isn’t many of us who attend group. 12 all together at the most. The meal was cancelled because of Covid. Rather than refunding out deposits, they have said they will donate the money to the group food bank. Only a few of us know that it is just a name we use for the sake of the social teams daughter. It has caused a lot of anger in the group. The consultant has rang us all individually and has called us mean spirited and selfish and the social team member is angry with us all for challenging it.

Are we in the wrong, be honest?
You cannot be in the wrong here. You have NO obligation to donate anything and the audacity of your consultant and some social leader to make you feel otherwise! Pure bully tactics.

Get your money back & definitely stop donating food and items to a grown woman who clearly is happy to take freebies at the expense of others when she doesn't need it.

I acknowledge this situation is awkward as you see these people every week & have social connections but if everyone agrees to stop the 'food bank', there is strength in numbers and it will blow over.

The one thing that I actually liked out SW was the lack of weights and measures. But as someone who literally grew up within the diet (Mum took me when I was 15 and I only severed ties at 43).

My eating is now so screwed up and I find I have a habit of going off the deep end and panicking with cal counting. Nutracheck is great unless your using certain foreign foods that your can't read the nutrition info for.
I'm another who started early. My Mum helped out at WW when I was 10. She's been attending for most her life between WW and SW.
She made me get weighed every week and even got me my own book at age 10.
Messed me up completely

I don't know this account but I'd say people who do this many clothing hauls (and then the clothes are never seen again) tend to order and send them back. They all do it purely for content and it's absolutely pathetic
And for the affiliate links!

First time poster in this thread, hello. I've done SW a few times but nowadays I'm very vocal about how it's a con and relies on people failing. Some of the tripe that the consultants used to come out with in my group was just dangerous. I got cancer in lockdown and during my treatment needed to be weighed every day - I actually fell back into old SW habits (didn't have too much to eat beforehand, nipped to the loo even if didn't need it, wore light clothes) and I'm angry at myself that I was secretly pleases watching those numbers go down rather than focusing on what was important!

I didn't realise there was a such a massive SW IG cult, and these threads have been really eye opening! Some of the stuff about "unofficially" losing weight but gaining on a different group's scales (must be the calibration) is brilliant 😂

I think the moment I realised this is complete and utter bullshit was when my several stone overweight herself consultant told me the reason I'd gained was because I'd been going to the gym. Was like you must be down there all the time then too pal then 😂

This sounds insane. Lovey thing to donate to help someone yet certainly seems a little shady. It does sounds like an awkward situation. I would be certainly annoyed.

I’ve decided I’m not going to go back to SW like I planned tomorrow and giving Nutracheck/Calorie Counting my best shot as it’s more substainable.
Ive given enough money to SW and WW over the years and I’m just forever loosing and gaining so it’s making me miserable and obviously not maintainable

My friend who is having the ongoing battle with The Slimming World Consultant and getting our meal deposits back text me this morning, she said while we are being ripped off, deceived and lied to, people like Ross Smith are receiving hampers of fruit from Slimming World.

Why doesn’t slimming world make some effort with genuine members instead of these fame hungry Instagram accounts who are doing more harm to the slimming world brand than good if you ask me! There is a man who posts here who has lost over 13 stone and he has never had any recognition or rewards.
