After his suicide hint, I wondered if this public breakdown was for staged for sympathy/attention. It's really starting to feel like it.

This is what happens when you're terminally online and interpret someone liking or sharing a post as support or approval of everything someone says or does.

They shared his posts because it's easy, raises their own online presence (however negligible) and it looks good for local politicians to support local initiatives, however lame they are.

Don't get me started on people bleating about mental health when they experience the consequences of their actions. You've pocketed half a million quid mate, for little more than sitting on your fat arse and typing (one handed, probably) inane Facebook posts nobody gave a flying fuck about. At a time when half the country was out of work. Just fuck off quietly and be grateful for that.

Interesting call to action by a company selling a background checking service of interest to Local Authority employers.

The cite a few examples of how badly things can go wrong and why their service is so invaluable:

Paul Tweed - Litherland Councillor
Convicted of possessing indecent images of children (including the most severe Category A) and extreme pornography. Highlights the critical need for safeguarding checks in local council vetting.

Liverpool City Council - Operation Aloft
A corruption scandal involving fraud, bribery, and misconduct in public office linked to building contracts. Former officials, including the mayor, were arrested. Exposed governance failures led to government oversight of the council.

Essex County Council - Kirsty O’Callaghan
Mismanagement of £1.5 million during the pandemic, with allegations of verbal contracts and undeclared conflicts of interest by a senior council official. Demonstrates the need for ethical and procurement checks.

So, there it is: lumped in with bribery, corruption and child abuse convictions is Simon's ex girlfriend and "partner in crime": Kirsty O'Callaghan (if she wasn't Simon, why don't you deny it?)

For Simon who is too uncivilised and unhygienic to be allowed into an office, Covid was a gravy train.

Less overheads, juicy tax breaks and support schemes begging to be exploited with little risk of getting caught. His four showers a week dropped to two, he could hide his gormless mug behind a mask without looking weird, and a captive audience of furloughed zombies mindlessly scrolling YouTube would’ve lapped up his fascinating dashcam footage. Add the chance to piously lecture plebs, rake in cash for bossing people around and virtue-signalling, and, when Wishi dangled 50% off his lunchtime KFC bucket with Eat Out to Help Out, he probably thought he’d died and gone to heaven.

None of it was his fault, of course. He was just the innocent hero swept up in it all. The grifting? That was Kirsty and the council. The poor performance of his Facebook groups? Well nobody told the social media guru what to post. Defaulting on loans and tax bills? Blame the other director and the accountants—money stuff was too complicated. Even his weird musty odour would’ve probably been the evil Torwies’ fault somehow.

unless it was this actual woman (allegedly) remarking across the pub I feel like saying someone looks Reformy is likely a classist observation

LIAR. It couldn’t be more obvious that it was him posting those tweets. He couldn’t resist the urge to poke his head above the X parapet, only to find out just how much he is loathed over there. Now he’s trying to save face and is back tracking with all the grace of a loaded dump truck. Twat

OK we can quibble about whether he's a prankster or not, but that one sentence is fairly watertight. They didn't go through due diligence. He's not even named there.

This is the social media equivalent of that angry drunk you see swigging from a brown paper bag at 1am, staggering down the street and incoherently yelling a string of expletives as he flails his arms about. And it’s absolutely glorious to watch. One word has sent him into this bitter spiral of passive-aggressive doom. One fucking word 😂

I’m definitely going to spend the next few weeks crowbarring the word “dubious” into as many conversations as humanly possible.

This is on social media so I am sharing it. I’m beyond angry that a local CVS faces closure when so much money was thrown at Simon Harris.
This CVS does so much and I get so much support in my job from them. In addition they have been an amazing source of support for a charity I volunteer for.

Simon Harris isn’t responsible for their probable demise , Essex County Council holds huge responsibility though for throwing money at Simon instead of offering increased funding to the local CVS organisations who could have done so much with it,

Apologies if I have cut any of their statement off as my vision isn’t great.,

The point is that the external funding could have been spent on things other than him. There was quite wide latitude to do so. For that reason, one way or another, money that ended in his pocket for posting from his shed in his underpands and Coca Cola T shirt, is money that could not have been spent on other, more useful and deserving things like, for example, disabled children.

So at no point did it dawn on him that the “doctor on call” sign could be… what’s the word I’m after? Ah yes, dubious?

Truth is, this was just another excuse to crowbar his stupid fat head into the paper. He used to potter around Southend looking for any reason to write to a journalist with a “story”. I couldn’t think of many things worse than being pictured in the paper, gurning like a lobotomised fish next to a parking restriction pole. The thought that people I know might see it, would make me cringe to death. But he actively seeks out this attention. God its tragic.
I reckon he always thinks he's on the brink of a massive viral post or story. Something that will get him on The One Show. Or at least back on Jezza Vine's radio programme.
He just can't accept he has had his moment on twitter. Fucked it up and is now a disgraced nonentity. He's probably secretly pleased at least we pigeons still talk about him.

Sat here reminiscing about how I found tattle because as I was starting to have real doubts about Jack Monroe’s validity she twitter-ranted about a forum of nasty types saying rotten things about her and that was how I found all her receipts right here and I cannot think why that has just popped into my head.

It’s the old nuance problem again for our Simon. A handful of successful posts from one page mean the entire project was brilliant from start to finish.

Prince Charles this, Lib Dem councillors that, meta presentations… blah blah blah. Everything he ever uses a defence is solely based on Essex is United. Why does any of that justify the eye watering spend on all of the other shit as well?

It’s like having a builder who does a lovely job tiling your bathroom. When you point out that he also set the kitchen on fire and ran over your dog in his van, he replies, “ahhhhh but you said you liked the bathroom! GOTCHA!!!

It's so funny how he and Depher are following almost exactly the same path after they've been publicly disgraced.
First of all they're contrite. Made mistakes they wouldn't make now. Too naive.
Go silent for quite a long time.
Try a new terrible venture (Si his tea towels, Jimmy his paintings).
Dip a toe back in trying to be easy breezy but nobody cares any more, but remembers their bad behaviour.
Try the self pitying route threatening self harm.
Then get angry and try to pick holes in the claims against them. Conspiracy theories. Trolls. Being smart arses with satirical posts about how wronged they were.

Is it just me or is there much more of a bitter note to his inane drivel these days? The way he’s always whining about people who have seen through him and spoken up.

If so, good. Love that for him.

Good god, he really is his own worst enemy. What on earth is he thinking with this one? There’s only one person keeping this story alive for a sizeable audience. AND THAT’S HIM!!!

Who reads leaflets from the Liberal Democrat’s? I know your social media clout has gone off a cliff, Simon, but even you’ve got more reach than that lot. I’m half tempted to visit his local pub in Hockley and scrawl, “Simon conned us out of £500k” onto the back of a toilet door to see if I can elicit another 3,000 word dissertation out of him. Just count yourself lucky that you’re not in prison and keep your head down for Christ's sake!!!

Oh and I’ve never once seen anyone wish you harm on tattle, Simon. I distinctly remember once posting that I genuinely hope your moronic behaviour doesn’t lead to real world physical consequences for you or your family, beyond maybe a custard pie in the face every time you leave the house. In fact, I genuinely feel that us Tattlers have shown more concern for the online safety of your children than you ever have. We often encourage you to give a moments thought to their privacy, dignity and wellbeing before using them for clicks and likes on Facebook. So you can get in the fucking bin with that one.
