Why does she say she's "Manchester based" when she lives in Wigan? Is she embarrassed to say she lives there?

I’m assuming places like ‘the reindeer centre’ that are near her aren’t open? And that’s why she has traveled so far?

We’re tier 2 so wasn’t sure what is open in tier 3 areas!
