Definitely not! Do you have any recommendations for a new spray similar to it?
No I’m afraid not because I’m trying to use up products I already have.

One empty:
Alpha H Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF 50+
I’ve used this on and off for years. I like to use it when I know I won’t be outside for too long because it saves me wearing sunscreen. I have never been burnt when wearing it. It does not have any fragrance and doesn’t feel heavy on my skin.
I will definitely repurchase once I’ve worked through my stash.

  • Maria Nila Structure Repair Hair Mask (great but needs to be used up, has been open for ages)
  • Missha BB Cream Bright Beige (similar, I think I've had this since 2019 :censored:)
  • Maybelline Fit Me Powder in 115
  • Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 03
  • Inkey List glycolic acid toner
  • Inkey List polyglutamic acid serum
  • Jean & Len Leave In Spray
Citing my own list, I’ve one last success for September with the glycolic acid toner!
I don’t think I will repurchase this one as the bottle is too big for it to not get old before I can use it up. My skin has changed and doesn’t like acids very much anymore. I like it better than the The Ordinary one though, it doesn’t have a weird smell and isn’t tacky. It’s also stronger so it’s not a direct replacement.

I didnt realise this until a few months ago, but I’ve started recycling my empties at boots, and if you spend £10, you get 500 boots points. So essentially, if I need something from boots, I recycle 5 things, get what I need, and collect the points, which are worth £5. I don’t know if everyone else does this and I’m just really far behind 😂😂 but it’s so good, especially if you need something from boots anyway x

Any empties or just things sold in boots? And is it points when you purchase, points when you recycle or both? Sorry if this is a daft question, I'm totally out the loop with loyalty schemes.

Genius move! I had no idea you could recycle empties at Boots for points.

September summary! Still getting through the dregs of a bunch of things that have been opened for a while.

Empties
Moo goo natural milk wash - love this, always re-buy. Gentle and great for body and face.

Matrix total results Insta cure shampoo and conditioner travel size - gift with purchase, it was nice but I would never pay this much for shampoo.

Bioderma sebium cleansing active foaming gel - the scent was really strong and citrus, so it felt harsh even though it probably wasn’t?

Cerave foaming cleanser - great for the price, I’ve always got a bottle of Cerave in the shower. Will repurchase once I’ve used up some other cleansers.

Alpha H triple action cleanser travel size - my all time favourite cleanser. Leaves skin really clean, doesn’t sting eyes. Used to buy it in bulk, but can’t afford it now since having kids 😂

Q&A salicylic acid body wash - nothing exciting, other things to use up.

Nutragena hyaluronic water gel moisturiser - nice, light moisturiser for day. Will repurchase because you can buy the replacement inserts (not that it saves much cash, but feels less wasteful).

Nutragena hyaluronic acid serum - fine, dries a bit sticky. Not sure I need a hyaluronic, I don’t notice much difference.

Binned
Mco large lash mascara - friend recommended it, I hate non-tubular mascaras. Left it on the shelf thinking maybe one day I’d use it, but I didn’t like it, so it’s gone.

Aspect Retinol Brûlée - I usually love their products, but I didn’t see enough immediate difference to be consistent with this one and it’s been open way past it’s use by now, so out it goes.

Any empties! Doesn’t have to be from boots. I know they allow a lot of baby stuff too, like baby wipe packets, food packets I think? They’re very generous with what they allow. So you get the “recycle at boots” app, and take pictures of your empty items and they get approved within 24 hours. When you have 5 items, you go to boots, deposit them and they give you a voucher. You activate it, and within 30 mins you need to scan it and pay.

so I use that time to browse, get what I need etc, and at the till I scan the voucher and my advantage card, and pay. The 500 points then go on my card :)

I only started doing it recently but it does really add up, especially if you’re buying toiletries and stuff anyway.

It's for mostly hard to recycle items, things like toothpaste tubes, baby formula scoops and lids but not the tins. You log the items for approval through the app. Once approved you go to store, drop them off, scan the QR code, spend a tenner and receive a fiver in points. Also, if your local store is one of the few that accepts them, you can also drop in medication empties. Things like the poppy packaging that paracetamol comes in, stuff like that.

I think John Lewis has a similar scheme.

The Body Shop used to have recycling bins in store for difficult to recycle make up and personal care products but seemed to have stopped doing this unfortunately since going into administration.

I've finished the Inkey list Polyglutanic SPF and really liked this and would use again.

I've nearly finished the Lacura Pro Night Advanced Serum (Estee Lauder dupe) I thought this was okay after my skin got used to it but I think it might have broken me out at first.

- Geek and Gorgeous rich hylaronic serum - this is great stuff, works really well on my (dry, dehydrated) skin, wouldnt be without it
- Sosu tanning serum - my new favourite tan, again very suited to my skin, which leans toward being dry

Just one empty (I’m so tit at using stuff up) but it is something I’d definitely repurchase

matrix miracle creator multi tasking spray for your hair

This was a sample bottle I got free and wow it’s amazing! So lightweight (I have fine hair albeit a lot of it, but it weighs down and goes greasy easily) but this just makes it feel so healthy, fresh, conditioned, smooth and silky.

Love it! Well worth it

The last quarter of 2024 is (almost) upon us and I will do my yearly ritual now of aiming to use up several products:

  • Maria Nila Structure Repair Hair Mask (great but needs to be used up, has been open for ages)
  • Missha BB Cream Bright Beige (similar, I think I've had this since 2019 :censored:)
  • Maybelline Fit Me Powder in 115
  • Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 03
  • Inkey List glycolic acid toner
  • Inkey List polyglutamic acid serum
  • Jean & Len Leave In Spray
Emptied the Maria Nila Structure Repair hair mask today, and about time. Won't repurchase, it's too expensive. Also, it needs to be mixed with a conditioner to work for my hair and while my hair does look and feel nice after, I've a nasty suspicion that that hair mask is partially responsible for clogging our shower drain. Really not worth the trouble and price point.

Skyn Iceland Rubberizing Mask - received this in a beauty box or GWP.
Such a strange product. It comes in a container and you mix pouch 1 with pouch 2 and use the supplied spatula to apply the product. That was fun! It was dripping down my face and it looked like my face was melting! It sort of set so I could peel some off after 30 mins but it just made a lot of mess. It made no difference to my skin.
This would be great to apply at Halloween to scare the local children!
In case you didn’t guess, I would not repurchase.

And another one gone from the list, the Maybelline Fit Me powder in 115. It's not a bad powder, in fact, I have already repurchased a replacement in a slightly darker tone. It was a pain to use up though, it's a square pan and of course the last bits are in the little edges where you can't really get into with a brush. but it comes with a little mirror in the package, which is nice.
I've a love/hate relationship with pressed powders anyway 😂 don't like the mess of loose powders, but nothing comes close to their finishes so I'm never sure whether I like pressed powders.

2 more finished.

REN Evercalm Cleansing Milk - received this in my subscription box. I used to use this years ago and I had forgetten how much it suited my skin. It’s unscented and just leaves my face feeling clean without feeling tight. I much prefer a cream cleanser to a gel for my morning cleanse and second cleanse. Once I work through my stash, I think I will repurchase either this or Alpha H Balancing Cleanser - whichever is the cheapest as they are very similar.

Kate Somerville Peptide K8 Power Cream - another beauty box buy. I love this. I love how it feels on my skin. I love the fragrance. I love the push down tub dispenser. However, at approximately £130 a tub 😮 I would never repurchase it. As much as I love it, imho NO skincare is worth that much.

Garnier Whole Blends Camellia and Argan Oil Conditioner

This was my third bottle from this line, I've had this one and the oat conditioner before already. The conditioner, especially the camellia one, is so good but the bottles are so crap, I don't think I will repurchase this again.
