Maybe she doesn't like the bowl, are the sides too high on it? You could try just putting little bit of dry food on a plate to test her with that?

She just pushes the food about when eating, she will eat what’s on the floor lol she’s half dog I tell you
The other bowl is on a stand so gonna get her another one of them from tk max.
She has a little table to rise the bowls up but she puts her paws on it lol (it’s a choppin board from lidi)

What presents are you getting them? I don't really do presents, just some nice food (ie hundreds of bags of dresmies ) I got one of mine an advent calendar one year, she didn't warm to it and just looked confused when I tried to help her open squares

One will get some extra special treats and thr other will get a new toy. Haven't decided what yet, maybe like a toy frame thing (like for babies ). I think he would enjoy it. We are obviously going to ignore the massive trunk of cat toys i already have.

I just feel bad cause we won't be home for xmas so they will just have the cat sitter visit.

I don't bother with the advent calendars as they are so particular with their treats and honestly, they'd just stab me if i tried to give them only one treat

Thor will put up with a belly rub but he really loves having his ears rubbed. He makes a quiet sort of grumble and you can feel his body relax.

Have you tried fresh water? Or maybe some gravy from the wet foods cos maybe drinking will be easier? Perhaps something is stuck in her throat making it difficult to eat. If so hopefully it's noting harmful & will just pass, or maybe she ate something that scratched her throat & that's why it hurts to eat. Water, gravy, those creamy treats, all might help & be useful to rule things out too.
Def ask previous neighbor to sort vet name out if you can't, that is ridiculous he didn't do all that before he left. Although it should be easy enough if you explain it all, they should understand & really whoever is looking after the cat and being responsible bring the cat to the vet is surely the owner in charge. Other option is to change vet.

If you want to encourage her to drink water you should get some tinned tuna in water if you can and give her that water. Hope she's okay

Ugh, worms are the absolute worst thing. My idiot boy had a couple of phases of having them, possibly due to his eating (half eating) the mice he catches, and it properly freaked me out. I found though that the back of the neck stuff (Bravecto?) did work but wore off after about four months. I now have an tube of it in case of an emergency. Hope the vet will sort things out for you.

3 kittens arrived from 10pm last night until about 1. She did very well. I was expecting her to hide but she actively sought us out and took herself into the birthing box i have put in a corner of our dining room for her. She will be spayed as soon as they are weaned, it wasn't nice to see her in pain

I bought these nice curtain lights. They look pretty and are battery operated. They go across the curtain rail and hang down fairy lights to the floor. I didn't think about the cats when I bought them....
So yeah Boss #2 has been attacking them and biting them It's been a few days and so far, calling her and clapping our hands has been working well the stop her. But today or right now has been the worst, she must have the zoomies or just a bunch of energy. Plus they are on right now so that is probably calling her to them.
We have brought out the dreaded water spray bottle and have sprayed her 3 times so far... I hate it bc I don't want her to hate me but I also def don't want her hurting herself by biting them. We are also trying to distract her with all the toys and the peak-a-boo yoke, and the laser. Hopefully this works.

My cats used to climb the curtains as kittens, they haven't done it in years, I'd probably take down the lights until they're older tbh

Hi new to this group, im a crazy cat lady with 5 cats. 3 tuxedo cats, one tortoise shell and one all black. Im just after advice regarding the dreaded fleas! They are de-flead every 4 weeks, ive used every product on the market, had people out to spray the house and they are still rampant im going to take them to vets to get a stronger dose that last 3 months. Just wondered if anyone else has this issue? I am washing everything they can get onto such as bedding, cushions, kids soft toys etc. On a 90 degree wash. It's a never ending cycle.

Hi and a very warm welcome. I have 2 cats one who's allergic to most chemical treatments. Luckily I'm retired so spend and hour am and pm combing them using a nit comb. Luckily they enjoy it that said I appreciate you may not have the time to do this but wish you luck with your endeavours to be rid of the wee beasties.

It's so hot here atm, it got to almost 43 today. Just now I opened the freezer door and Thor lay in front of of it, refusing to move.
I had to pick him up off the floor and move him to the bedroom, where the aircon is. I feel bad for them but we do what we can to keep them cool.

Reminds me of that simpsons episode where homer sets up a tent in front of the fridge poor cats must be melting jn their little fur coats

Yep. My old cat used to run upstairs on his claw tips, then get into the bath and muddy it up. He had huge fluffy paws, so I have no idea how he did it.

I have found my new favourite thread

I've got 3 cats of my own & a little doggo but got some reason I can't upload a pic of them, my reason for posting though is that my foster boy, who I've had since mid Nov has a visit from his potential forever home today

He's the most wonderful boy, so soft, gentle, loving, handsome & sweet. If I didn't already have 3, I'd keep him in a heartbeat.

I'm sure the person will fall in love with him and hopefully he them, it's going to be really hard to say goodbye if it all goes well but I keep telling myself, I'm only part of his journey, not the ending!!

We had the house deep cleaned on Monday, Loki and Merry were not happy they loathe anything cleaning from dusters, to brooms and of course vacuum cleaners. Unfortunately, the lovely cleaning team arrived with 3, yes 3 vacuums. Luckily, tho chilly it was sunny so they both sat outside till the scary ladies and their equally scary equipment had got in their van and buggered off. Oh and 2 hours later after eating his tea Loki felt the lovely clean floor needed a spot of vomit on it .

Help, I'm broody for another cat.

I know we can't reasonably get another cat. Peach literally only came up for adoption because she wasn't getting on living with two other cats. But they were a big, fluffy Persian and Ragdoll pair of older boys... so maybe a kitten could work But I also know I'd feel so gutted if ever I had to rehome a cat and would never put a kitten in that situation! So I know my pipe dream is over

They're in front of the airconditioner now. They used to have cooling mats, they wouldn't use them though.

They do love hairbands! Although word of caution, they can be quite dangerous for them. Have heard plenty stories of cats munching them and needing surgery

Ooo this is probably me being a terrible cat owner but I never really thought about that! I'll definitely make sure she's redirected and my hairbands stay put away, thank you for letting me know
