My mum was one of the fanatical fans of Joe Longthorne. To the extent that my holidays from work revolved around his tour schedule. I eventually passed my driving test so I could get my mum to his concerts. We saw him at at Motherwell which was the last time we saw him before he died.
On a similar note, we went to see Barry Manilow last night. He's obviously been ill, couldn't reach all of the notes and was using recorded vocals (they all do these days) but he's still a fabulous entertainer and gave it his all for 2hrs.
He sung his new song - one last time - and I really felt he was saying goodbye to us all

my wee heart was breaking. I've never felt that before. Not even at Joe Longthorne's last show
