Shush now.

About last night with Damian Lewis in Brighton Resident Records.

Went-blagged my way in-wasn’t free- £35 (including an orange vinyl record-met-he signed a copy of said vinyl-chatted to him-he made me laugh-photo taken with-played a 20 minute acoustic set with another guy-had a lovely time-DL was lovely-went pub after on my own-wondering how this all happened-the end.

This man didn’t feature in my life two weeks ago, now I’ve met him, have a signed copy of his orange coloured vinyl and Mr SK thinks I’m a bit odd.

Don’t tell me you’re not all jealous 🥳😁

I've read the Mods new rule about AI content now having to be posted under a spoiler.
It's too late for me to go back and edit the pics I posted earlier, but I'm hoping nobody thinks the one of Damian Lewis with an Alpaca head was real.

Cold tea: Pete Burns used to work in a record shop and my dad would go in, choose his records and take them up to the counter. Pete would go through them one by one and say 'that's shit' to each one and refuse to sell them 😅

Harper Beckham adjacent:

This is how low our culture has seemingly descended. A group of adult men fawning over a twelve year old girl, photographing her and even leaning over the barriers to try and make physical contact with her.

And what is even more gruesome is the fact that this whole scenario has been stage managed and encouraged by her parents (and no doubt her disgusting grandmother)

In what universe is this acceptable?

Nick Reiner, son of actor and director Rob Reiner, is trying to sue to get access to his inheritance.

That's the same Nick Reiner that stabbed his parents to death...

My friend's son had it. They initially thought the symptons were down to another injury but it kept getting worse and one doctor decided to do the test thinking it would rule it out but nope, he had it and it was aggressive. Within a few months he was in a chair unable to do anything and needing an app to talk and what was more sad was friends who he would and had done anything for stopped visiitng because they couldn't deal with seeing him like that. They said he had about six months to a year left but passed within a few at thirty six, leaving two sons. As sad as they were, they were glad because he was finally at peace.
Awful thing to say but your friend's son was almost lucky to go so quickly. My Mom had it for years and it completely broke us. She had it for ten years before they actually diagnosed her with it. She kept falling and tripping in shops. I became a full time carer. The disease stripped her off her dignity. She never banked her voice and could not use the eye gaze to communicate. Horrible, horrible disease. I'm Irish so not invested in the honours list or titles but Sir Kevin is a worthy recipient. The world needs more honest, decent, kind people like him. Imagine if Elon Musk or his peers contributed to the research to cure MND.

I can confirm this.

Probe Records. I used to go there myself in the early 80's and tbh, Pete scared the life out of me. He was a big flamboyant guy (obvs) who often wore black contact lenses. It was a small, indie shop and he'd come out of the back like a mystical creature. :ROFLMAO: The two records I remember buying there thinking I was cool and edgy was the original Blue Monday by New Order and Homosapien by Pete Shelley .

I also saw Dead or Alive play a few times in some clubs. They were rubbish. TBH, Pete had a nerve criticising others music choices when he only found fame through Stock Aitken and Waterman :ROFLMAO:

Tepid tea - Joe Longthorne had a fanatical following of old ladies. All straight but they adored him.
Also, he sacked his tour band by text message.
Like Daniel O' Donnell - the fanatical bit.
My OH's elderly Ma went with her equally elderly friend to see him to see him a few years ago. She was very startled when her friend stood up and shouted 'SPIT ON ME DANIEL' 😂

Did you mention Alpacas to him?

What did you talk about?
No I think he may have not got that reference 😁 I didn’t say much you only get a couple of mins, I did start by saying “Hey Damian so you picked our little place for a a gig-signing then, thank you for coming” and he replied “Brighton is lovely, had to come here, it’s so trendy and unique and I knew I’d meet lovely people like you”…I took this as flirting with me, which of course he was 😁

So, Brooklyn didn’t attend David’s walk of fame sham ceremony, so they have punished him by taking the paps to get a shot of his little sister, to look sad at his house in order to make him look bad? It’s all over his Instagram that he is currently in New York, so there is no way that they didn’t know he was not home.
They are abhorrent, why are they doing this to their son? Are they just planning on making his life a misery and throwing him under the bus until he comes back?
That poor kid, he’s made of surprisingly stern stuff.

Louise was still a very common middle name (along with Claire) in 1985 when I was born.

i used to hate my name as a kid, and wanted to be called Gail instead. I even practised my signature with my new moniker. Thankfully I’ve come to love my slightly unusual name now.
I also have an unusual name, born early '70s, premature and under 3lbs. A name was chosen, by my Dad, he was told that it was unlikely i would live, and my Mum was extremely poorly and her prognosis was also not good. He had to give me a name and fast!
In her devastation and seriously ill condition Mum agreed to Dad's choice and said it doesn't matter because she will die anyway. Anyway .. suprise! We both survived and thrived! My sisters have more popular names and I was always pissed off I couldn't get my name on an egg cup when I was a kid and they could!!! I have grown to love it. Its taken awhile though! And .. what a story about how your name came about... not tradition or a song.... urgency!

It's not an awful thing to say.
My nana had lived with both vascular dementia and COPD for a number of years, and the slow steady decline of both her mental and physical wellbeing was absolutely agonising for us all.

Her overall health decreased drastically over the course of a week and she passed away with family at her bedside.
A mere three days later, the COVID restrictions were introduced, so had she not gone when she did there would have been very little chance of any family being with her as she took her last.
Her dying alone was her biggest fear, so I'm incredibly thankful it came to an end when it did.

Working in healthcare you do unfortunately witness people die alone, but during the pandemic it was on such an unprecedented scale, and it's something that is very hard to rationalise and come to terms with. I can't even begin to imagine how those unfortunate soul's loved ones felt? Absolutely heartbreaking 💔

So no, IMO it's definitely not an awful thing to say 💚
