Uh oh, what was on it?!
I think Fry has been seduced by all the fawning publicity he's had over the years. If he spoke with a Brummie accent rather than that Uppingham-educated drawl I suspect more people would recognise him for the hopelessly contrary twit that he is. Years ago he used to go on and on about how frightfully awful sex was and how celibacy was so much better, and interviewer after interviewer - most, one presumes, with healthy, ot at least active, sex lives - would giggle and nod and say 'Oh, Stephen, you've convinced me!' as if bloody Einstein was conversing with them. Then of course Fry decided to inform the nation that sex was actually a very good thing and he thus had to recommend it to the swinish multitude tout suite, and again the interviewers, instead of saying, 'Er, right, thanks for stating the bleeding obvious, Sherlock,' would simply fawn over him as if he was the greatest genius they'd ever encountered. He's the same about language - one minute he'll defend grammar, the next he'll go down the 'oh, it's so gloriously organic/anything goes' route. On twitter he will contradict himself so many times until someone finally points it out and then this bulbous-brained buffoon goes off in a huff. Reading out other people's research on QI only added to the myth that here was a man who would have brain-wrestled Wittgenstein to the floor in one easy mental manouevre. There's something about him and his air of floppy-haired poshness that seems to bring out the servile forelock-tugger in many people, which is really sad to see.Is there any gossip about Stephen Fry? I find him and is husband an odd match but I don’t know if that’s because his husband looks so young.
Marcus Wareing did an interview with his wife a few months ago and it was very revealing in terms of his character! https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/relative-values-interview-marcus-and-jane-wareing-bkd88fqgt -I have it on very good authority that he’s not just on one white powder .... when he was in Australia he was heavily into other substances.
Rick Stein is a very nice chap.
Jamie Oliver is a bit of twat but harmless.
Marcus Wareing well ...... likes a lady of the night but expects someone else to pay on their company credit card !!
I’ve long had my suspicions about Barely Merry. She acts like a loveable old Home Economics teacher but in reality she’s like one of those teachers who’d pinch you if you got eggshell in your cake mixture. It’s in those shark eyes, she doesn’t fool me!Talking to my Dad yesterday about celebrity gossip and he reminded of the time he met Mary Berry. He worked in the lab in the factory where they produced her salad dressings in the late 90s. Said she came to site with her husband and was absolutely vile to everyone she met on her walk around. Her husband was lovely though. At the end of the visit as she was getting in her car, one of the operators opened up the window and shouted “Oi claw, f@&k off back under your house in Oz” needless to say he didn’t last long after that
I'm suspicious of the stories about her. The DM and ITV have shared business interests and Ant is such a money spinner for both of them that they will do anything to make him seem less culpable, even when he gets convicted of drink driving. She posts something on her own instagram or likes a tweet and it's a massive story about how shes a gold digger. She is probably not completely innocent but I suspect shes been made out to be far worse than she is to protect Ant.Ants ex wife does my nut in. I know he was seemingly not a good husband but jesus could she milk it anymore? Move on love.
absolute horrible commentShes also got a very big nose.
I was in a green room with Everett once. He was endearingy helpless. His PA had to keep running off doing basic stuff like get a cup of water for him, while he'd watch her open-mouthed as if she was performing the most baffling operation. I wish I'd had a ball of wool with me, if I'd thrown it by his feet I reckon he would've played with it for ages.I get the impression Stephen Fry isn't half as clever as he would like people to think, and knows it. Hence his need for lots of obscure words, thinking people will be blinded by them. A truly bright person wears their intelligence lightly imo - doesn't try to make other people think they are thick. He seems to try to model himself on his hero Oscar Wilde, ever ready with a wry observation.
Another man who loves Oscar Wilde is Rupert Everett, but in interviews he really does come across as genuinely quick and witty. Which reminds me of something I remember from his marvellously gossipy memoir (whose name escapes me), that he was incredibly fond of Paula Yates and they had a brief sexual relationship. He and his partner now have Rupert's elderly mother living with them. He talked about it not long ago, they love each other dearly but get on each other's nerves and constantly bicker which sounded hilarious.
She seemed pretty happy when I met her. Obviously, a bit mad, replying to notes in a bar but that was just how mad I was too, at the time. Theres not one thing I could say "oh I knew tragedy was coming" .. she was just a nice girl. The press absolutely demonized her. She was just a girl who wanted to go to work and then chill at the evening and weekend IMO.Poor Amy, she’s the only celebrity I ever truly felt sorry for. She was always hounded even right before her death. She said she would give everything away if she just could walk down the street without anyone knowing her.
Talented woman who was never cut out for the life that was given to her.
friend at the beeb had to babysit savile for a day when he was getting on a bit but still but pre-Louis Thoreau. Said when he met her he had a trick where he‘d go to shake your hand and appear to go to kiss it chivalrously - before running his tongue all the way up her arm. totally creeped her out but he just laughed and said won’t worry you’re too old for me.He was also known to be a groper of nursers at the LGI.
Noel comes across as the kind of guy you can't help but like. I didn't know much about him before he started on Bake Off, but I think he's brilliant on it. I didn't like Mel and Sue (especially Sue) When they were presenting it was basically the Mel and Sue show with some baking. Noel is completely different, much gentler and more relaxed with the contestants.Hah!
What would you like to know? Happy to share stories, but don't want anyone to be able to identify me.
I don't know about the other two as didn't work on that, but I know that her and Noel hated each other. Very fake relationship where she was constantly looking to make herself look good by making him look bad. Tragic.
Not much difference to be fair, they both like kids playing with themWhat PS? sorry, I only know the abbreviation of PS as PlayStation.
I didn’t get a good feeling from Amy’s dad - couldn’t work out if he was simply a pushy stage parent or if he was using Amy for his own fame including the attempts to launch a career as a crooner. That was the overwhelming message in the film Amy. Nobody, not managers, not family, not friends, nobody had her back.
His wife has know he‘s gay for years. I dont think she’s the victim she’s made out to be. She was happy to play the beard and live the comfortable life he provided for her.I don't get how Philip Schofields wife can even be in the same room as him, to be honest. I couldn't forgive all those years of lying. Even now he's lying that he hasn't got a shag pad in London. I don't get what's brave about that
I dont think anyone has said that vaccines are 100% safe, of course they arent, everything has risks. I'm very sorry side effects happened to someone you know but I have also read stories from people who have been affected by vaccine side effects and they said while their life wasnt the best they had disabilities they would still push for people to get vaccines because if you're not vaccinated against, say, measles and you contract it and then you come into contact with who has a compromised immune system you're putting their life in danger too. This isn’t evidence of being nuts. This happened to my second cousin: she was totally normal, then had a measles vaccine (before the combined MMR was available), had a bad reaction, and spent the rest of her life in a residential home, severely learning disabled and suffering from epilepsy. It happens.
It’s really upsetting that people trying to speak out about this are attacked, to the point where anyone not ardently praising vaccines are ostracised. The pharmaceutical companies manufacturing these medications are now beyond reproach, and their naive customers are militantly protecting them from any criticism. Suffering families are being punished and demonised as liars for not going along with the popular narrative.
Vaccines are medications, and like any other, they can have side effects. Like many other medications, rarely, these side effects can be severe. Insisting that vaccines are the only medications that are magically 100% safe is just as nuts as saying that vaccines are useless autism shots.
