The only thing she said during the whole video that stood out to me as a way to distinguish between the conditions is the Dr telling her to abort. Unless she made that part up....Kurt wasn't in the room.
She said the Dr recommended to ‘Stop and start again’ 😬
Yeah, this would also be very weird for a doctor to say for Down’s syndrome (plenty of people choose to continue pregnancies in that case) - but AFAIK the other options screened in NIPT are either much more serious, or sex chromosome disorders where NIPT is much less accurate at predicting positives - in which case its even weirder that she doesn’t talk about getting the CVS result/confirmation.

Seeing as we are approaching the end of the thread, this title is winning so far (well @pippyforyou is technically with “we don’t care if you’re leaving the thread” which is absolutely hilarious and true, but we might keep it Sez appropriate? 😂).

I wish there was a better way to track thread name titles.
This one has won. I’ll create a new thread for everyone!

Does anyone know how far along she is in her pregnancy? I wonder if they had their 20 week scan and if they can know more about his health through that.
I believe she’s 19 weeks right now. She rolls over weeks on Tuesdays

Not necessarily. They have said in the past that he has had ECG's done in hospital due to his dizzy episodes. ECGs are often done pre-hospitally and in ED on most patient's just to rule out that it's not an arrhythmia/heart problem. Doesn't necessarily mean it is a heart problem. ECG'S and bloods are a pretty stock standard assessment in ED (unless you go in for like a fracture). I remember ages ago when they were discussing his health issues they said he'd been in ED multiple times and had ECG's and blood which came back normal. Obviously things can change in that time.
Sorry I meant the reason he was getting an ECG was heart related, no saying he had a heart related problem necessarily. But ECG in essence measure electrical signals from the heart so I was just connecting it 😊

I don’t know about Other states, but in Vic this is very untrue. Our proof of vax goes in a digital wallet and it is both time stamped in real time that clicks over and has a moving digital hologram. Would not be easy to fake. The Medicare cert doesn’t count as your vax ‘passport’ here.
In NSW, the places I have gone to so far have just checked some proof - screenshot worked for me. The nsw govt only gave the option to add our vax certificate on the services nsw app a few days ago which I've done now... but not sure if it will be strictly enforced by all businesses

Hmmm true, might be due to covid the way they’re grouping people? Assuming it is heart related (which it would be for ECG) if it was more of an emergency situation he probably wouldn’t of casually been chilling / having a call?

Side note: I’m currently doing my major uni assignment on ECG design, so now all I’m thinking about while working on it is Sarah!! Can’t escape her!
I’m a couple pages behind but you still wait ages for heart related stuff, my partner got electrocuted at work and he was in the waiting room for hours while they slowly did tests and ECG. Unless you’re under cardiac arrest in a busy city hospital, you’re still going to wait!

Still on my weird "let's watch old Sarah videos to see if I'm remembering them correctly" kick and I do have to say that as blatantly disordered as she was, she definitely looked healthier. Obviously looks can be deceiving and your body can cope with a lot more when you're younger, but she was also at least eating a larger variety of food at this point. One of the vlogs I watched included her eating some kind of burger and sweet potato fries, she eats a lot of fats (for "hormonal reasons" but still) and her skin and hair really do look like they have some life in them at least.

I agree she's always been dangerous and problematic, but I can see why I resonated with her back in the day. Most people who struggle with eating disorders, especially ones like orthorexia where so many of the behaviors are praised by society, go through a period where they genuinely believe they are doing what they are for health.

On the other hand ... her fanbase has always been horrifying ... (I can't blur the names on desktop but since they are on her public Youtube I'm thinking it's okay...?)

Leah eats food and knows how to cook. Not even a comparison I wouldn’t have thought!! 😂
Yes sorry I probably worded that wrong by saying 'comparison' - I meant that a lot of us have said she's the exact opposite to Scuz!

I would have given her a free pass if she hadn't acted in a similar way (baiting something's wrong but wouldn't say what until the vlog) with her CIN3 diagnosis, only with that, she actually did take a few days off social media to process it.

Looking back at the current situation it appears to me that she was desperate to say what was happening but because she couldn't yet she just kept coming on her stories and dropping hints instead. She was telling us without telling us. Yes, perhaps that was her way of coping. But at the same time she should acknowledge (to herself) how that looked to everyone looking in who only had these crumbs to go on, and that her getting bitchy when fans naturally speculated wasn't fair. On one hand, it's no one's business but hers. On the other, she kept talking about it when she didn't have to.

There isn't a right or wrong way to cope with devestating news, but how you handle yourself afterwards is important. She dragged it out. Even after she came out the otherside and was back to "normal" on her stories and was making vlogs again, she still kept reminding everyone she was dealing with something. People were moving on. Tattle was moving on. But as soon as it looked like people were, she brought it up again. Of course we know this is because she had a vlog planned and needed to drum up hype for it.

This is the part I won't give her a free pass on because in the end it looked calculated. It still looks that way. If her baby has a good chance of being born with mild version of his condition (I hope that's the case) they didn't need to reveal anything as no one would have been any the wiser. But now it feels like she's setting things up to cash in on it later, especially with the line that doctors apparently said she should use her channel to promote her baby's condition.

She said she wanted to address the matter in a vlog and never talk about it again but I absolutely believe that will not be the case.
You’ve expressed my feelings which I struggled to write 🙌🏼

My goodness, that took some work catching up. Y'all are simultaneously hilarious and thought provoking. I have a few thoughts of my own to share.

On the topic of Sarah lying in order to say #Godisgood when her baby is born...

While I do think there were obvious fibs in her sit-down tell-all (the doctor encouraging her to be a spokesperson, for example), I don't necessarily think that her expressing that the disorder may not be observable means that she got an "all clear" upon further testing. For chromosomal trisomy (of any pair), it is impossible to definitively discern until birth whether or not it is mosaic (some cells may be free from the trisomy and have a normal pair of the chromosome in question). Mosaic type trisomy would result in milder health consequences.

I do not think that the doctor would have advised her to terminate without reasonable evidence (assuming that part of the story is true). Similarly, I don't see doctors spending time, as a care team, on a zoom call unless there is a possibility of a severe health issue.

As far as her manic behavior being a result of her receiving good news, who knows. The anatomy scan takes place at 20 weeks, so if she is celebrating I feel it is premature.

Anecdotally, my best friend's pregnancy was flagged due to an NIPT result. She had an inconclusive amniocentesis and her anatomy scan showed an echogenic focus. Additionally she has a family history of down syndrome. Ultimately had a baby with the typical number of chromosomal pairs. Another friend had normal prenatal care and test results, and discovered that her daughter has down syndrome when she was born.

So, while there are assessments that can be made in pregnancy, it isn't as conclusive as it may seem.

On the topic of 🦊...

I feel for him and his textbook attention-seeking behaviors. Hopefully he gets exposure to teachers and other children soon. Part of me hopes that her sudden change of tune about when they will move him out of their room is the result of someone giving her a reality check. If she was directed to a genetic counselor, they may have given her advice about how to prepare her household for a baby with additional medical needs.

Lastly regarding her rant about Kurt in her recent vlog...

She has said it before, "your vibe attracts your tribe" (which is a questionable phrase, in my opinion... but that is beside the point) and that seems to be the case in the comment section of her vlog. These people are encouraging her, saying that those poor communication habits "are just marriage". I'm in a happy marriage, and I'm also a parent. Miscommunication is certainly a part of marriage, but the rest does not have to be.

I recently parted ways with a very toxic friend. After the friendship ended, I felt very disillusioned. One of the things I realized is how often she bashed on her marriage (she eventually divulged there were serious fidelity issues as well). That is not a good symptom to be displaying...

In conclusion...

This girl really seems like she could benefit from therapy.
Sorry if this is off topic but how is this possible? Was it recent or is her daughter not that young? I find this quite bizarre due to all the medical knowledge that we’re lucky enough to have nowadays. All these conversations about chromosomal disorders have been very eye-opening. I’m a 21 year old student so not thinking about children anytime soon but never thought I could learn so much from a tattle thread 😂

I would honestly have so much more respect for her if she would just own that her intolerances are ED related and that she's simply tired of living that way.

I recently started eating gluten again after 4 years of being "intolerant" to it (though, tbf, i was advised to try and see how i felt avoiding it since i have an autoimmune disorder). genuinely, despite being pretty far into therapy for my ed, it didn't occur to me that my "intolerance" was all in my head until i was craving toast so badly that i decided to try it and found myself absolutely terrified of a piece of break. like, shaking and crying levels of fear.

i was never someone who was constantly talking about being gluten free, but a lot of people around me did know that i didn't eat it and it's definitely embarrassing eating it again and having to be like "well, turns out it was all in my head!" i get that - but i foolishly wish that sarah would just do the same and move on instead of this "pregnancy cures all!!" nonsense. pregnancy can lessen or worsen allergies and intolerances, but it's not going to suddenly cure every one of your fragile baby bird issues.
Good on you for figuring this out and moving past this fear! Can I ask if you felt sick and bloated when you initially reintroduced it? Or was it totally fine?

I also have a gluten 'intolerance' from being recommend trying to go off gluten years and years ago by a naturopath. If I've ever tried to reintroduce I feel so sick. My husband is a coeliac (I have been tested and am not) so it's so much easier to stay strict gluten free, but I sometimes wonder if it is also a bit 'all in my head'. I would love to be able to eat gluten products if I can (but am also pretty anxious to try)

Something that has really been eating at me is how she mentioned her doctor telling her (???) that she could essentially become a spokesperson for this disability. You can't have both - you can't make yourself the poster child for being a mother with a disabled child while also keeping the matter private and not letting the issue define your son.

Disabled people all over the spectrum deal with enough trying to establish themselves as a normal human being whose existence is far more than acting as some sort of inspiration porn for abled people and between sarah's ego and her evangelicalism i just feel so scared for this little boy. i hope my feelings are wrong and i do genuinely feel for sarah because this is such a hard thing, especially when you're someone who is already mentally ill (though in denial) and who has never faced any kind of real hardship
You know I was thinking this. Maybe it wasn’t the dr? She said she talked to a number of people/teams. Maybe she talked to a physio. If the abnormality will require extra cafe around development. Or another health care professional?

That’s the thing with lurking, I was a lurker for a few weeks before I made an account so this person can’t prove for sure how long they’ve been following because they could’ve been lurking without an account.
Sure, but they said their account said new member, which is irrelevant if you were lurking because you wouldn’t have an account.
I’m a lurker from way back too, until I finally made an account.

Sardines in sweet chill sauce on real toast 👍

I can't believe Kurt said ‘I’m chill about it all, Sarah can decide’
That's it, let your little sister make all the hard decisions. Disgusting.
Lol omg did he really say that? I need to watch that vid. Damn!

Was flicking through TikTok last night randomly and one came on with a woman and her little girl and she said "the Doctor told me to stop and start again" then showed herself kissing her adorable daughter who happened to have Downs Syndrome. Just for a minute there I thought "how unusual- they are the same words Sezza spoke" coincidence ? or did she also see that Tiktok and thought she's just copy the words? anyway, back to normal programming now 😜
Sorry guys, I tried to find it again but couldn't :( went through as many as I could

My hospital weighed me at the start and probably once or twice during antenatal appointments. There was a guide in my blue book (qld) of weight gain from my current weight that was ideal to gain during pregnancy.

She said something in her story that the hospital said she's already at the higher end of weight gained.
Is that something they monitor?
Both my pregnancies they asked me weight at my first appointment, they may have even weighed me. After that I don't believe I was weighed again. Can't work out is she’s lying or if they do weigh some women.
