Men need to get better at calling this stuff out. They need to stop eye rolling and ignoring it, but have that “it’s not ok” conversation. Stop just calling it “bantz” and realise that 80% are joking but 20% believe these views and think it’s ok.
I feel sorry for the genuine police today, the good ones just trying to do their job and keep us safe. It is a hard enough job without people throwing bombs from the inside.

His wife was never charged, she was only arrested and questioned, and then released. The judge also described his family as victims too and notably referred to them as ‘blameless’ today. Poor children.

Her mother’s statement had me sobbing. How can you ever move forward knowing the suffering your child endured before their death. There are no words. It makes me think we should have the death penalty for these utter scum but then you also want them to rot in jail forever. It’s horrific. He deserves to feel pain and fear like she did.
I’ve been speaking to a policeman online who works for the met. He’s been asking to come and see me in uniform whilst on duty as it’s exciting for him. I found out he’s actually a married man. I’ve cut it off but it’s just so grim.

Didn’t read previous threads but was so upset by this today I actually rang my mum. And she was speechless when I told her.
I was raised with a distrust of the police and to be honest I wouldn’t ask them for help, but dear god I will raise Merry hell if I’m ever stopped by a single police man (even if I’m actually in the middle of doing a crime.)
I’m glad that upon arrest WC had to be taken to hospital, his colleagues obviously still like to let people know what think of them with their fists -which on this occasion is a good thing. He will be frequently scared and tortured and beaten in jail for as long as he lives, and I hope he feels the same terror and inevitable doom he made that poor lady feel when he drove her out of London.

Resign?? No she needs sacking by the home secretary. This is half the problem. Police being allowed to resign, step down etc on full pensions. No one held accountable as usual.
We not to stop repeating their narrative/words and expressions and demand sackings.

I am so sick of arguing with the “not all men” tirade.
I have had lectures at med school from two separate white male consultants who have beaten their wives to a pulp, and caused severe harm through dangerous driving (all easily accessible through a simple google search, and within the last five years). If either of them had been a POC or just someone not deemed to be someone worth protecting, they would have lost their jobs or at least been given a prison sentence (their sentencing remarks both commented on how it would be a shame to society if they weren’t able to continue working, fuck offfff). They all had their colleagues write “character statements” about how they were actually great guys and that ultimately helped them get off without a sentence.
My point is, white males in positions of power are SO protected compared to the general population. And a lot of them know this, which is why there is so much breach of position of power. It is sickening. That is what needs to change. People need to stop being so protected.
If a creepy homeless guy was reported to have been flashing people on three separate occasions, I’d bet money that he would have seen the inside of a cell. But when it’s a serving police officer it’s fine?? As long as his colleagues/mates say that he’s actually a good guy?
No, fuck that. If you’re caught doing something wrong, you should have to face the consequences. I’m sick of all these men in position of power getting away with shit because their colleagues have written a statement to say that they’re not a bad guy. And let’s be honest, half of them probably write that to make their own lives easier - you wouldn’t want to be known as the one person who refused to stick up for your colleague when everyone else did, would you?

ExactlyAnd all this "flag down a bus" thing I hope it makes the police feel like the shit they are that I'd rather go to a bus driver for help than them, if anything ever happens to me god forbid I'll be finding a bus before I find a copper. They need to hang their heads in fucking shame.
Also what about minority groups with this verification check, I'm black, my kids are black and I know full fucking well if we ask for verification it's all of a sudden gonna become obstruction, resisting arrest and aggressive behaviour. Fuck the police

I’d argue if he’s making inappropriate comments he’s not a lovely guy. He makes women uncomfortable. If she called him out it wouldn’t matter. His defence can say he is remorseful but he has spent most of the court yesterday and today with his head down and eyes closed. The lengths he went to, not just to take someone and drive such a long way to hurt them, to then destroy evidence and the disrespect for Sarah’s body. He’s not sorry, just sorry he was caught that’s why he concocted the gang story and took his children there days later. Sick.

God I just hate them all. Him, his pissy mates who covered for him, the smarmy officials who come on television as smug as you like acting like it’s an unforeseen issue, the politicians who pretend they give a shit yet do nothing but cut cut cut.
The point of this that every spokesperson is missing is that Sarah’s life could have been saved ten times over if there had been adequate funding, medical intervention and supervision of these officers.
WHERE is the mandated psychiatric supervision they should be receiving yearly? Where is a specialist doctor who can recognise signs of competency/narcissism/pyschiatric wellness? Where is the counselling that SHOULD be forced?
Where is the additional funding so there is no instance where they are not single crewed? Where is the increased staffing so you don’t have single teams working 60/70 hours a week? Where is the pastoral training ever team receive to recognise the signs in their colleagues? When was the last time a whistle blowing policy was updated? When was the last time that enough management was hired that they knew their officers inside and out? When was the last time individualist welfare/performance/attitude was placed above a fucking collar number or statistic?
Wayne Cousens should NEVER have been allowed onto the force. Had he received adequate psychiatric assessment his depravity and his sociopathy would have been recognised. That is taking out the absolute criminal incompetence of his past record going overlooked/ignored. What is terrifying is that we’ve caught ONE. There’ll be more. There’ll be firemen too, doctors, ambulance staff, medics, prison guards - all of them.
We are putting our trust into a small group of individuals that they are good people and they can keep us safe. If they pass the initial psychiatric tests that’s them approved for thirty years. IT IS 2021 AND THAT NEEDS TO FUCKING CHANGE.
Sarah and every other woman and man like her lie at the foot on number ten and on the steps of parliament who have been approving cut after cut after cut.
There needs to be an independent body set up that assesses the mental capacity of every single member of emergency services staff on a yearly/bi-yearly basis because when there’s a rotten egg or when another egg cracks it goes unnoticed, unrecognised or wholly ignored until somebody fucking dies.
