Not joking here at all, I went in a charity shop last week, bought Sam's debut album for 50p. I'd heard some songs from it previously but not the full album. Honestly, I've got it in my car and have listened to it on repeat since. It's incredible, his voice is so soothing.. Why has he done this to himself? He is so talented, he didn't need to change his image at all. I would have paid to see him live previously, definitely not now. It's a real shame tbh. He's destroyed his career imo.
I agree. He’s got a great voice. I liked his music before and even listened to his new album and thought it was good enough. I think maybe he just wants to stand out now and the music isn’t enough to do that.

100% he has ruined his career. He’s made himself a laughing stock. Maybe he wants to express himself but the skimpy clothes and “sexual” dancing just screams attention seeking. He’s alienated his original fan base/audience. As others have said here he must have the wrong people advising him.

I have the feeling most of the people defending Sam online sing a different song in their own rooms where no one else can hear what is said. There is no way anyone can look at him and say 'Yeah, he looks so great!' and truly mean it.

I don't like Lewis either but at least he's not trying to be something he's not!
From what I've heard he is the same as he has always been. When he goes home to Bathate, he sometimes pops through to Edinburgh to hit some pubs. I've never met him personally but I know some who have and he just sits there and chats with no fuss whatsoever.

Lewis is seen often in the West end of Glasgow where he lives, or at least was for a while.

He is really channelling his Patrick Star here 😂
That is vile. How the duck people pay money to go see this weirdo writhe around touching himself sexually on stage I'll never know. Utterly horrific the pictures and videos I've seen of him on this tour. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

For a while I thought Sam had a humiliation fetish. But I’d expect to sense some sort of satisfaction or achievement from them in that case and I never do. It’s just all so try-hard and awkward.

I wonder what the schtick will be for the next album?! 😆

I just saw a few more of his costumes in a review of the show. Who in their right mind thought half-inching the material from a snooker table and grabbing the nearest piece of rope and a coat hanger would look good? As for the pink monstrosity...it looks like they were inspired by Charlie from The Mighty Boosh if he had stayed melted and had a few dozen feathers glued onto him.

One guy who reviewed the show actually ends it with the claim he thinks Sam is one of Pop's great rebels. Now, far be it from me to question anyone's sanity but anyone who watched him twatting around stage wearing either of these 'pieces of art' and still thinks he is a rebel either has a screw loose or he was secretly taking the piss.

And here is the review if anyone is interested. I particularly enjoyed the part where the guy claims anyone who doesn't agree Sam is the best thing ever is ignorant and full of hatred while at the same time calling out people for making assumptions.

I can remember when they seemed like they were going to be huge, I honestly thought they were the next Adele. Even now I still love their voice. But the publicity stunts they pull seems to get more and more tacky, real bottom feeding stuff  and it makes it very hard to take their music seriously. It’s all quite sad, really. Hope they come to the realisation that tacky stunts are not the way to the top.

I've now seen more clips from his tour, he looks desperate! This man is surely not sober.

It reminds me of christina aguilera dirty album, hopefully he will go back to his self again.. When artists release new material outwith the norm they take on that persona until their new album... Taylor swift, lady gaga and even beyonce with her sasha fierce, s Smith is no exception
