Was just thinking the same about the freak show/asylum. He appeals to that sick part of humans that find enjoyment in being disgusted.

While the slating must be hard on him in what is obviously an unwell state of mind, I can’t but think it’s very much needed to usher in the moment of catastrophe that eventually puts a stop to all this and marks the beginning of his rehabilitation. Stringing this phase out is much more cruel in the long run

The issue with is really not his size/shape, identity/sexual preference, outlandish "style" or anything else....it's purely that he looks UNCOMFORTABLE.

Just standing there he looks so awkward. When he's dancing it's even worse, it's like watching some first week Strictly dropout with a back brace and caliper boots on!


He's so stiff and just "odd" looking. It's unpleasant to look at. I think maybe his recently increased habitus isn't helping matters, since he's carrying a bit of timber, but he's not a pop star. He's a guy with a good voice, who sits on a stool and whines about failed romances, he's not designed nor meant to be on stage wiggling his junk around like bleepin' Beyonce!


That and the fact he absolutely stinks of over inflated ego and privilege. The press need to stop giving him attention and let him fade out of our collective consciousnesses until he comes to his senses and stops making a show of himself.

You put this beautifully. I’m genuinely worried about him.

As a les who spent many years unable to accept it, I can usually tell when someone genuinely accepts themselves for who they are and has that weight off their shoulders.

With Sam, though, it doesn’t seem genuine at all. He seems so unhappy and is trying to overcompensate, hence identifying as non-binary and adopting they/them pronouns. It’s heartbreaking to watch.

I think Madonna is who they want to be compared to as they seemingly cover Human Nature at the concert and I wonder if the pic of them in the thong, fishnets, and boots is what they wear when they sing it?

They do seem to be getting likened to her a lot lately and it really doesn't help their case. When she used to do all the Sex stuff, raunchy performances, and wearing next to nothing...she never seemed to be reluctant or embarrassed about doing it and owned it regardless of what anyone thought. With Sam, it seems the opposite...like someone stepping into their big brother/sister's heels and trying to be like them and it not working. Anytime they do something....being near-naked on stage, wearing dresses in pics, the faux golden showers in the video, playing with Satanism....it's been done much better before and in a time when it was a big deal to do stuff like that as you could lose your career over it. Someone else in the thread talked about them wanting to show us their hole and I honestly think at some point a sex tape might pop up and rather than pretend it was leaked like normal, they will proudly admit they released it.

Lewis also owns his struggles and is open about them, which endears so many people to him and gets him positive attention. He never plays the victim while doing so.
I’m not familiar with his music but I have nothing but respect for him as a person as a result.
