I do have kids actually a 13 and 8 yo. My husband and I grew up very worldly, from poor and disrupted childhoods so we’ve both seen and sadly experienced a lot. Our goal with our kids isn’t to shield them from the world or hide things from them, the world is a tit place and every generation had their own “porn, sex, internet” hysteria. In our opinion the younger you’re exposed to the darkness of the world the less negatively impacted or likely to be influenced you are.

we encourage our kids to critically think about what they see and consume, we are open with them and in turn they feel free to ask us questions and we have chats about everything you’ve mentioned. We give them privacy while monitoring and tbh we’ve never found anything worrying so we must be doing something right. They have iPhones and social media just like their friends but they don’t mindlessly and secretly consume content, which is where I think the problem is. Some of daughters friends are really left to their own devices by their parents or overly sheltered and they are the ones dressing inappropriately or even talking to boys

and all the people I mentioned have at some point been widely praised for their antics or still are. Cardi b is still seen by many in the media and fans as a feminist icon of sorts. People suddenly calling it dark and demonic are the same people that called others conspiracy theorists for pointing out the same things back in 2010s

and yes I agree, my initial post literally said no one has to like, understand or support them but everyone going out of their way to humiliate them and make them feel like tit is very weird.
I had no internet as a child I am from the 80’s. I literally had never seen it until I was in my 20’s! How can you compare us with this new generation from 2000’s on? If my parents didn’t like us watching any dodgy stuff they would just turn over the one of the 4 channels. The stuff you are talking about is men wearing make up on top of the pops once a week. It was not being streamed everywhere, all the time like it is now. It is almost impossible to not see this stuff. I don’t even use social media that much at all but I have seen more of Sam smiths nipples than I have seen my own lately.

When my kids were growing up the level of access you are constantly monitoring is mind-blowing. It is interesting you have relatively young kids, wait until you have 15 and 16 year olds - it gets harder! Of course you can shield a young child from these things with much more ease, you just block it but once they gain independence, you as parents are overpowered by all of the external influences and all you can do is hope you did enough. That’s not to say there is no responsibility for anyone else in the world to not bringing fetish porn mainstream. I don’t think we need it in mainstream society, it’s not art, it’s fetish porn.

Cardi B has a huge fan base and also a huge backlash. She is so overly sexualised and she has to be more and more risqué to stand out - that’s the point. You can’t be seen to be ‘boring’ and ‘normal’ anymore because society wants to see drama, outrage, sex, violence, and people are now desensitised to this so much, it’s allowing all kinds of things to pass that shouldn’t really.

Desensitisation of society is a bad thing. We should be ok with being shocked by things and not liking them. We do not have to accept everything we see and like it. Society shouldn’t be pushing us all to accept everything in front of us, I have my boundary and it’s no one else’s right to tell me I’m wrong and they are right just because it isn’t seen as woke enough. This veers into the debate about women being erased from society and I agree that they are. Even mothers now aren’t allowed to have an opinion on how society might harm their kids. Guess what, if mainstream fetish porn harms our kids it’s all the fault of mothers!

Men become Drs or Sirs or Lords.

If someone called someone Miss instead of Mrs, refused to correct it when asked politely and then followed up with a bunch of misogynistic slurs, I would call them a bigot.

Sex and gender are two different things. The former is biological and the latter is a social construct.
Ok….. 99% of men never change their title

I personally can’t think of the last situation I was in where someone would need to refer to me as Miss or Mrs. If they did I would tell them to call me by my first name.

I am aware that sex is biological and gender is a social construct. That’s why people like Sam parading around in nipple tassles and calling himself non-binary is regressive. Men can be MEN and still wear whatever they want and act however they want. They’re still blokes and that’s absolutely fine!

I get your point, but as a mother of 2 young boys, I worry about the crap they are going to see before they are adults. I would like my kids to be well adjusted, respectful of women, not perverts etc. The stats regarding children being subjected to porn are shocking and definitely concerning. I certainly didn't see any porn videos until I was an adult. Whilst not porn exactly, his most recent video isn't far from it. Fetishes belong behind closed doors, thank you please.

On top of that, gender ideology is dangerous. It has become a fad, but one that could potentially physically and mentally harm our kids and is slowly affecting womens' rights, sport, rights, awards etc etc. Regardless of all that, I'm not sure I buy it from Sam anyway. I can't help but feel this gender balls is a result of the backlash against him crying in his mansion over lockdown. Distraction tactic.
Very well said.

This is what I mean, does anyone actually think this is okay? Imagine being on your commute to work and someone starts shouting that at you like that wtaf

nobody said anything when gaga was acting obscene in the 2010s, cardi b literally has a song called WAP, Madonna snogged Jesus in a music video and so many rockstars do insane tit. Everything’s “iconic” until it’s someone that doesn’t fit the mould people usually see it from. Nothing that he’s doing is anything remotely new
Most of it was a passing fad that didn't harm anyone though. What Sam Smith is representing, is an insidious campaign to brainwash a gullible generation.

I think it’s also feeding into the idea that to be noticed and famous you have to just be a completely different person to the normal boring plebs, let go of all your boundaries and act outrageously for clout, fame and money. He has a talent, he doesn’t need to do this.

Wasn't that how it used to be with the likes of Boy George, David Bowie, etc, men just being at the time a tad outrageous, dressing differently, they were accepted, people didn't bother, they didn't feel the need to have a pro noun, dress in bondage, shout about their sexuality, unlike the lot today who just can't get on with life without stamping their feet wanting the majority to change for them.

The whole lot of them are pathetic and I'm sure this crazy fad will pass but it will leave a trail of very confused mixed up kids.

The only ones that will benefit from all this nonsense will be the therapists who will be kept busy picking up the pieces of the confusion and brainwashing of our kids.

Saw Smith on TV today an old clip saying he enjoys fishing and would like to be a fisherTHEM, the guys an absolute twit, and needs to be cancelled, stop giving him the attention he craves. 🤮

I am old enough to remember Frankie Goes to Hollywood and the storm they created. However, we had limited access to seeing their fabulous shenanigans 🤣 Sam’s latest media tour is deliberately provocative and contrived. There was outrage at Madonna - we just didn’t have computers we can carry about in our pockets.

Absolutely awful, awful abuse from this crazed Irish loon.

But he loves the attention doesn't he?? just shows how strong some feel after his latest disgusting video, think she is shouting what many think, apart from the pedalo comment, she's right,

He cannot expect to behave the way he does without some backlash, good on the women I say, he needs to hear what the person on the street think of him & his behavior. Parents are angry, no one wants their kids to see what he is coming out with, he is a disgrace.

Some people need to get a grip, he's creating an image to sell to the public so he can stay relevant and keep the money rolling in💰💰 it's nothing to do with him expressing himself blah, blah blah 🤪 if I or anyone else on Tattle want to judge and comment on that here then we are free to do so 🤷‍♂️💅

Yeah calling him a weirdo is extreme. They’’re not the first person to prance around the stage in fetish gear or be sexually overt on stage or the first we’ve seen it on MSM. I’m a lot more concerned by the subliminal fetish serving we see on social media, particularly TikTok. Plus the over representation of trans cosplay/ batshit leftism there that just discredit the sensible people. Controversy seems to lead to fame/infamy nowadays and it’s so much easier to publicly lynch people for things that just aren’t as much of a big deal in reality. For example people going mad at mis-gendering Sam. In reality, if you misgender someone it’s usually a much less inflammatory reaction- because in reality no-one expects you to know everything about someone already or to have the perfect response to them all the time.
