Just seen on X her tour kicked off last night and the show was only 1 hour and 10 mins long , this seems so short for the ticket prices

She doxxed someone who said they didn't like her second single and he had to deactivate his account after all her fans came at him with threats. What a bitch.

Whether it’s the real her or put on, it’s working (obviously not for the majority on this thread 😂) can’t blame her for leaning in to it when she’s now where she has wanted to be from her past albums. I do still prefer emails I can’t send, I think it has more depth but short n sweet is still a good album

The grey hair and suit is a purposeful choice. It’s an older man touching a young woman, dressed like a child while she’s prone and vulnerable on the bed wearing considerably less clothing. It’s fucking disgusting how normalised this shit is in porn, but to have it seeping out into the everyday, in front of literal children is tragic.
Saw somebody say It gives casting couch, and i agree. Also Bonnie Blue vibes.

She’s like a Bratz doll. Tiny body and a big round face. The hair drowns her.

I grew up on late 90s and early to mid 00s R&B and Pop music. Is it just me or has music come to be a lot more sexualised? It was never perfect, but back then it was more about the voices and music videos were more creative, or if not particulary creative, they were simple and effective. Nowadays it's all about sex sells rather than pure talent. I dunno, as I say, maybe it's just me.

For example, this is a music video from Amerie in 2002. It has that iconic early 00s feel, and even though she's not fully clothed, she keeps it classy and simple.

I wouldn’t say it’s more sexual, maybe because you were younger you didn’t pick up on what they were singing about. Eg some popular artists/songs from that era :

Boyz 2 Men - Ill make love to you
R Kelly (🤢) - too many to mention
Usher - nice n slow (a lot of hip thrusting in that video!)
Nsync - digital get down (about phone sex)
Britney - many sexualised videos
Xtina - genie in a bottle, dirty video
Mariah - touch my body
Beyoncé - naughty girl
Mya - my love is like woah
Sisqo- thong song

Even Amerie’s one thing could be interpreted as sexual when you really listen to what she’s saying. Of course as kids we’d happily sing stuff without thinking.

So many hip hop/rnb songs had bikini clad women in them (and that was the whole concept).

Re the videos, I think we just have so much more visual content now that we’re less impressed by music videos. IMO Sabrina’s videos are actually quite reminiscent of that early 00s era.

Whatever way you look at it it's a horrible photo with abuse/porn undertones. It almost feels like a Hollywood humiliation ritual in itself. The music industry own her and she has to do what they say if she wants to stay on top.
Turning on Spotify yesterday and Manchild automatically started playing despite having never searched Sabrina in my life! It was skipped 😖

I’m off to see her tonight. I don’t care, I think she’s fun and her songs are good old-fashioned catchy pop. Some people take everything so seriously. The parents complaining about her antics on stage (The Brits etc) should maybe try listening to her music before they let their children. It’s really not for young children.
enjoy! her show looks like so much fun - i love how much she commits to that whole 50s pinup vibe. i don’t even know how people think it’s overtly sexy because she does it in such a betty boop oops oh me? 🤭 sort of way 🤣

as others have said; i totally agree that it’s on the parents, not sabrina, to vet her music and the show before going. i saw that insta comment that went viral a few days back of a mum asking her not to perform the position part in birmingham because she would be there with her daughter and, come on now 🤣 why should the actual artist change everything to suit the fact that some people want to bring their young kids to a show that is not designed for them? being a former disney star doesn’t mean you can NEVER evolve from that surely.

She can’t keep the Betty boop thing going forever. It’ll get dated really quick. Katy Perry was also marketed in a similar way and used to perform in the same same oopsy woopsy I’m just a little cutsie out here making giggly innuendos for the boys while winking at the camera. She couldn’t sustain that act and look at where she is now
sabrina can actually sing though this is what frustrates me. The boys/ men she’s marketing towards don’t care about her other than something to look at and they certainly don’t take her seriously as an artist. The teen audience for innuendoes will get old fast and move on to the next thing.

I don’t understand the end goal here at all.

Emails I Can't Send is a great album and I think she has a beautiful voice.

I just think it's ridiculous how hard she tries to be sexy.

I really liked Emails as an album, and I got tickets for her O2 show (paid an arm and a leg for them though)! I liked this album less, was underwhelmed the first time I listened to it. But I really like Sharpest Tool - that could’ve been on Emails, and Coincidence was fun. Good Graces could’ve been an Ariana song (and I felt that way about Nonsense when it first came out).

I think she overdid the sexuality in the lyrics though. What possessed her to put “I’m so fucking horny” in a song 🫠 one of the bonus songs has “my openings are super tight” - it was a play on how booked and busy she is, but classic Sabrina. I do like the little heart cut out pastel tour outfits - but I might be biased cos I have the same boots!

I also think the humour/punch lines was a bit overdone - kinda took away from the musicality sometimes if that makes sense.

The ‘sexy baby’ thing is again, another disgusting purposeful choice by her and her team. Hearts, bows, pastels, babydoll nighties, white ankle socks are all things you’d associate with childish, innocent dressing, but Sabrina does it with a sexual ‘adult’ tweak 🤢. The fact that she is also very diminutive in stature (under 5ft I think) only adds to this. Her actions also lean towards this - her hand covering her mouth in that ‘oops’ pose again and again is very childish. You just need to go onto pornhub and look for the content that caters for men with that kink. Women looking like young girls and it follows the same formula as Sabrina with physique, clothing and actions. It’s disgusting and if you can’t see that, you’re probably as porn-sick as most men are.
I get the point you're trying to make but I disagree. Individually? Maybe (though definitely not babydoll nighties which afaik have always been under the category of lingerie, no?) in their individual context but in the context of an adult woman wearing stripper shoes and a risqué outfit, I don't view it as childish innocent dressing in the slightest because context is everything. I also don't view it as a "sexual 'adult' tweak" because I don't associate those things with children when they're on a grown woman.

I've seen people say she's doing it purely to attract paedophiles which, let's be real, a paedophile isn't interested in a 25 year old grown woman, no matter how short she is.

I don't go on pornhub, nor look for that kind of content, that absolutely does NOT make me as "porn-sick as most men are". What a fucking stretch lmaoooo (I actually wrote most of this without reading that last sentence otherwise I'd probably have just said "fuck off" so...)

Such a storm in a teacup. It's exhausting what people will get worked up about.

I'm not a fan of Sabrina, although I do like please, please, please. Total earworm.

She looks like such a try hard with all the stuff about her showbiz relationship coming out at the same time as her album. If the music was good she wouldn't need to do this. It would be better to have a hit album based on it's merit rather than because of trashy PR.
I have to disagree with the ‘if the music was good’ line, there is plenty of good music out there that is undiscovered and unfortunately, she’s only gotten bigger since she leaned in to being overly sexual and playing the fame game. As others have said, emails I can’t send has much better songs than her two recent singles but wasn’t nearly as successful

Perhaps... hopefully...the response is simply a reflection of the fact that people can make mistakes, apologise, and we can all get on with our own lives.
