Not her running down the platform like she’s about to miss the Hogwarts Express 😭 also, the end of that video makes me think Blakeney forgot to stop recording/Ruby forgot to cut it

We’re overdue for the gifted Scotland trip, aren’t we?
Even though she works as a library assistant at her old school I bet she will still go on trips during term time as she did this when she was working at the school before. I mean it is barely weeks into the new term and she has already gone to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway with Blakeney so how many more trips is she going to gone on between now and July presuming that she is working at the school for the academic year 2024-2025.

I would pay good money to hear Ruby pronounce Keighley. Especially as she misspelled it in her caption.

Yeah I thought that too… esp with something so bland and low calorie… a lot of her food content is such a red flag but more than anything it concerns me she always makes a fuss of it and just announces her insane habits with such pride 😐

ED content

The red flag that is her eating the same tiny soup for dinner every day.

Why, on God's Good Earth, does she make such fake and strained smiles? You can see the veins in her neck about to pop. It looks ridiculous and a bit like she has gone insane, which we all know she already has.

If the autism theory that gets batted around this thread is to be believed it could be that. If I recall correctly those with autism can sometimes have odd facial expressions.

Watching random old videos while I knit and was comforted by the thought that no matter how bad my knitting (facing some struggles with my current project, have had to frog and re-knit both the collar and the hem), the end result will never be the level of embarrassing that is Roobee in her ”sailor collar”.

The fact she’s peddling this GCSE revision tool again… she’s so shameless. Like girl, let it go!

I was re-reading Bluestockings by Jane Robinson very recently. It's about the first women to fight for a university education (so runs from the 1600s to 1939). What strikes me about this book, in the context of Ruby and her self study, is that it doesnt focus on wealthy women who could afford to spend all their time lounging around in literary salons or whatever. A recurrent persona in the book is the young woman (and her family) who really fought against class as well as patriarchy to access education. The women who attended evening lectures, or travelled great distances to access an education (as they couldn't afford to move away from home). The families who scrimped and saved everything together to give their bright daughter the chance to pull them out of poverty. The women who cajoled unwilling mothers and fathers in order to get just a year at university. The women who darned stockings for other students or worked as charladies when they weren't studying in order to afford their studies.
I particularly remember enjoying the story of Trixie, who was a very intelligent working-class girl who went to Oxbridge in the 1930s. Her family sacrificed everything to get her there, knowing it would pay off if they could get her through. Her family struggled so hard that her lecturers and wealthier friends set up a 'scholarship' for her, which was essentially them funding her education so she could finish her degree. She became a teacher, an excellent career for the time and given her background, and it was enough to pull her family out of the dire poverty they clearly faced before.

I'd read a whole book about her if I could!

Why do you need/want an AI based journal?
I find regular journaling really hard but simultaneously find it useful for my mental health. I like the prompts AI journaling gives.
incidentally I tried Notion and I don't know how anyone uses it for anything it's so confusing 🤦‍♀️ Ruby must just have a million tabs

She says she got accepted into a Ph.D program at Oxford! She was supposed to started this September but chose not to, due to mental health issues.

Well, if the masters didn't stress her out (which it most definitely did given how miserable she always looked and how she struggled with her mental health in the last month of her Masters) then she's going to find a PhD even more stressful.

Whaaaaaaaa.....t..... but...., there are other options than withdrawing. Postpone, blahblah, but hold on to it! She might never get this amazing opportunity again. I can't believe her...

Not at Oxford you can't. They grant a MAXIMUM of a year for exceptional circumstances and candidates for research based PHDs. Which I don't think they'd actually accept this as tbh.

Haven't even watched this, but I somehow doubt the veracity. At no point did she act like she'd been accepted. If it is true, sorry, but RIP Oxford.

Edit: OK, I see she showed something. But she made a huge deal about needing a certain mark to be eligible for an Oxford PhD program - but she already had decided to withdraw the application? Makes so little sense. I also find her worship of the PhD (as someone in the final stages of one) quite sick. Hopefully she works on that. I don't know, it all seems pretty fishy to me. Maybe she doesn't want to self-fund after all.
