I have ganuwinely been struggling to work out what this object is. Is it an old radiator? Or a stripey old deckchair? Or something else?

It does look like an old radiator to me. They really are junky people. The whole place, inside and out, is a dump. Everything is broken, falling apart, moldy. I am surprised that, with three females living there that rarely work, they don't have a gorgeous flower garden going on. They could do so much with his area, but instead choose to trash it.

Yeah their house and garden look like the sketchy house in your town you cross the street to avoid. If I didn't know who lives in there I would definitely think it's squatters and addicts lol. Or maybe an elderly person who just can't keep up with the house and garden anymore. Not four rich adults including a self-proclaimed perfectionist and clean freak

They could so easily remedy this buy hiring a gardener.

That “beautiful prose” people praise her for is a rushed/sped up voiceover of rambling clap trap.

Someone calling her a modern day Anne Brontë? Haha more like mad woman in the attic.

I keep looking at this photo, it keeps sending me because it's comedy gold; the abandoned radiator, Ruby standing on the table for no reason.

The dumped objects need goggly eyes, so that they can come to life and observe Ruby acting bizarre.

Did a meteor hit their garden?

Usually I'd be at least a bit jealous of someone without financial worries and the pressure to work as soon as education is finished (or even the privilege to have the ressources for such an extensive education).
But her life just looks absolutly depressing. She is the opposite of influencers on social media who put on a show about how perfect their life is, how clean and stylish their house is and how many exiting things they do all day.
At least she makes me happy that I'm an independent, functioning adult.

I hope by some miracle she grows to be 6'2" overnight so that we can finally see the end of this 'reaching for the highest shelf as the itty bitty smart girlie' schtick.

I’m sure Ruby’s previously said (more than once …) that she doesn’t like Austen. Or do we like it now because the author’s name starts with ‘A’ so it’s usually on the top shelf?

It’s so “Matilda” coded. Matilda was like SIX

I highly doubt Ruby has the comprehension skills needed to enjoy the tongue-in-cheek satire that is Jane Austen's writing. 90% of the time when people say they don't like Austin that's the reason why. They sincerely believe humor was invented one day in the late 70s, and refuse to believe otherwise, so they take everything Jane writes as being serious literature. And when you read it with that mindset of course it seems ridiculous and boring.

Also Jane Austen's plots revolve around heterosexual romantic relationships, which apparently scare Ruby to death, so she can't even enjoy the novels on a superficial level.

I am I allowed to hate Austen because my housemate did a dissertation on her and I read that damn thing on a loop for an academic year?
Jokes aside though doesn't one of the characters in Gilmore Girls dislike Austen? I've never watched it but above mentioned roommates/bff is obsessed. Could fit with Ruby's GilmoreCore
