The marigold thing. Somebody calls somebody else a marigold. So Ruby decides to dedicate a large portion of time to researching marigolds. Surely a two minute google would assertain what a marigold 'means'? She seems to research things that don't need researching for some unknown reason. To avoid the big stuff?
After all the hints at her obsession with Blakeney lately and the speculation that followed, I do wonder if she panicked and went out of her way to include a guy in one of her videos (it's literally the first time we see a male who isn't her dad) as an attempt to divert attentionI think the reasoning behind why she was going to all these events right before her dissertation due date is maybe because she has definitely subconsciously (at least) given up. I mean, we've only heard snippets about what her dissertation is really about, and from that jumbled mess of a video of her being secretive about her dissertation and from this video showing us her still looking for sources 4 days before the due date, its clear that she is not gonna do well on this dissertation. If she does, I'll honestly be shocked. She's either gonna be failing or at the very least get a low pass.
She's clearly panicking about it considering she brought a copy of her dissertation to a fucking outing with friends.
She also discusses how even if you have a "good argument" it can be "received in a way that you didn't expect." She's definitely gonna make a future video where she blames her dissertation supervisor and marker (are they the same person?) for her awful grade instead of seeing what she could have done better on this dissertation.

Other than all of that though, is anyone shocked that they saw a clip of a man and woman walking together in this video, and when they get closer to the camera it's actually Ruby talking to a grown man?!!!

I don't believe any of these events took place five days before her dissertation was due, and that she was not already done with it. Wouldn't be the first time RuBored prefilms stuff, only to attribute it to another timeline...
