I dont think she's having a mental breakdown, I honestly think she's just tried to make a quirky, eccentric video. She even said at the end that she knows the video is different to her usual style of content and that she was trying to be a bit nonsensical in it. Maybe she's trying to get out of a youtube slump or maybe she's trying something different to see if it motivates her to upload again. It's just my opinion but I think people are reading too far into it and this video is not a reflection of her mental state. Of course, I could be totally wrong and she's finally gone batshit crazy! Time will tell.

Side note, why does she keep blurring and unblurring the bird seed?

This was her strangest video that she's posted and I've been through the frozen peas and cabbage water porridge days with Ruby.

I keep thinking about it and there's something not right about it. I think that it would perhaps be an acceptable video if she was a teenager than a 24 year old. It gave me the vibes of a school project on nonsense poetry for English or media studies than something a masters student would do.

It just feels like she's going through a big regression since she's gone home, it starting off with the childish outfits and now this. I am expecting to see more odd food combinations coming again.

It's also very telling that she's been so quiet about Oxford the whole time, especially in comparison to Exeter where she was filming about her grades, speaking about her assignments. Ruby has been so quiet about Oxford other than her pretending to study in the library.

I don't think that she is getting the grades that she expected. I think ruby was expecting to get distinctions for all of her work 70% upwards for my MA course, and shes been given a few merits 60%+ or passes 50% +. I've had a mixture of all those during my course and it's upsetting not to get distinctions and merits all the time as to being honest, life happens and you get through the course as best you can and take the 58% .

I think that if ruby had all distinctions , she would be posting about it as it fits her image. I think that she would be very tight lipped about getting a merit compared to distinctions. I am convinced that she changed course in Exeter as she got a 50 something grade for her first theology essay and it ruined her from having straight firsts.

I don't know if she's had some bad news like a book has been rejected and she's on another debut novel or she's not got into a PhD application and the regression has been furthered by this.

I think once Oxford is finished she'll try and become a full time writer again in her parents house as she 'wants to spends lots of time with them,' or what she said in the gap year. I think that she'll continue to make content but I don't think that she'll be mentioning or discussing Oxford much and pretending it never happened.

I think that she's picked the course which wasn't for her. I think that she was mostly wanting the aestheticn and the idea of Oxford compared what she's actually experienced. I'm still convinced that she went for the dark academia aesthetic and that she will use it for a novel idea.

I agree, I mean she lies and pretends all the time so it's unlikely this video is the singular true representation of her innermost soul I agree that she's probably trying to post something, anything (to fulfill sponsorship obligations) and while this may be the result of poor mental health (I honestly think she must not be getting the grades she thinks she deserves at Oxford, otherwise she'd be crowing about her grades all over the place), to me it feels more like "I don't want to talk about my studies or writing because things aren't going well" and/or she's casting around for something new to substitute for a personality since "VARRY INTALLIGENT AWKSFUD SCHOLAR" isn't happening. She's trying for random and quirky, with a side of ED baiting.

I finally got round to watching the video and yeah, it’s odd but I really think it’s Ruby’s/Marfa’s attempt at being ‘quirky’ and it just falls flat. I got the impression that there was some kind of brief from the sponsor about ‘listening’ and the pair of them just ran with it in a really strange direction. It felt like someone had done a mind-map about listening and then filmed it ... That and the audio quality is shocking, and Ruby’s overall affect turns quirky into vaguely sinister. I also find it really strange that she doesn’t seem to mention the sponsor at all, there certainly wasn’t anything in there to explain what they do - the video doesn’t fit the sponsorship at all. I thought sponsors usually had to sign off videos so God knows why they agreed to this manic pixie nightmare.

It really is pretty scary to see how ill-prepared she is for basic, everyday socializing skills with other people, besides her tiny circle of family and one occasional friend. How is she going to handle co-workers, students, customers, people who come to do work at your home, neighbours, bosses, trainees, employers, employees, etc.? She has zero skills, zero experience, and about to turn 24? She is so disturbing. Her family hasn't done her any favours allowing her to be so childlike and dependent.

My rabbits eat carrots with porridge as a treat once in a while. I wouldn't have thought a human being would eat it, it stinks for a start (not sure why but the cooked carrots just react with the oats and boak, not good) and it tastes super weird. Also it looks like it would glow in the dark.

This might seem a bit random but I went on the Emily Dickinson Museum's website today because I was interested after watching a few clips of Dickinson on Youtube, and lo and behold, who do I see on the front page? None other than our Roobertamba.

She is everywhere, it pisses me off. Why would the official museum have her there? Did she do some sort of sponsorship with them or am I remembering wrong?

For me it all went from "let's watch this dark academia aesthetic related videos just for fun" to "okay, I'm watching her cause I've been following her content for some time" and it all ended with this current video. Sincerely, I hope she's okay, we all have been stressed cause of studies at some point in our life but I can feel something is wrong, not only on the birdseeds stuff but in her voice over and the way she rushed (more than usual) posting that thinggg. It was like a fever dream.

She spent a few days there during her GAP YAHHH getting gifted tours and free stuff in exchange for advertising the museum.

She lied about it and painted the whole thing as her "volunteering", yet she didn't do any of the things normal volunteers are expected to do. Instead, she just did all the paid tours for free in exchange for filming a couple of low-effort guest videos on the museum social media.

When she did a video about her trip, she showed herself getting tours and writing in Emily's bedroom, but refused to mention that any museum visitor could do everything she did, for a fee. Because it would've made it abundantly clear that it was all just her getting paid in free stuff to advertise the place, then lying about it to pad her CV with fake work experience for her uni application.

Haven’t actually watched a Ruby video in ages and just keep up from here but decided to watch her latest one. Wtf is she on? Is she trying to be a children’s tv character/narrator?

Also, for someone who makes an effort to talk softly and make her content seem calm and gentle the idea of her listening to ai voiced journals whilst walking through forests is kind of jarring.

I know we can’t compare people at different life stages, but she’s nearing her mid twenties and spending her days buying bird seeds and talking about having tea parties with them!

Not only that, but listening to AI-generated text-to-speech versions of academic papers at double-speed. It's wildly impractical and completely unbelievable on Ruby's part.

I don't believe for a second that she's using this app, much less how she's claiming. There's no way she's listening to complex academic theses filtered through AI with the garbled voice cranked to panic-inducing speed. And if she is, there's no way she's parsing any information from it.

She just shoehorned another sponsor product into an unrelated vlog and lied yet again to make herself seem more productive than she is. The painfully stilted, "I...like that...app... "/"The app is VARRY GYUD" back-and-forth with her and Martha just drives home how fake it is.
