That racist chat is one of the dumbest things I've read in a long time. 🤦‍♀️
I agree that it’s dumb! I do still think she’s likely autistic though. Obviously, it’s dumb to diagnose people online, but I am autistic, so I can’t help but recognise traits and behaviours of hers.

Ugh please post a video

I wonder if this is the reason she went back to Oxford for one night.
This video was taken during the Oxford Literary Festival which took place between the 16th and 24th of March and this is not the reason why she went back to Oxford for one night,

Obviously, universities are diverse places, but Exeter and Oxford are two of the least diverse (I think)*
Oxford is more diverse than the average in terms of RG unis (if you're only counting ethnicity, I would assume it is even more diverse if you count diversity as any culture outside of White British/Irish).
Here's the 2022 stats:

And here is the stats for Oxford:

No clue at all how this stacks up for Exeter though. I would assume (due to my own prejudices) that it is less diverse.

I would worry about this being Off Topic, but there's hardly a conversation to derail rn.

This discussion reminds me of that Derry Girls episode when the girls compete who's gonna get to collect the new Asian student as a friend for diversity cred.

I've also noticed her Pinterest boards and in her life, everyone is usually blonde, blue or hazel eyed, and fair complexion. Considering the variety of people in the world and of the students at Oxford, is she a racist? I have never seen her with any friends of colour or various ethnic backgrounds. She seems to only even attempt to friend people of a very western persuasion. I'm sure you get my meaning.
I feel like this is a bit of a reach, tbh.

I really don’t understand why she hasn‘t stayed in Oxford (I mean I do, but …) Presumably she‘s now working on her thesis so she‘ll need access to texts, she‘ll have paid postgraduate rent that covers the holidays and given that she was so keen to work in the libraries there you‘d think she‘d be jumping at the chance. Heck, she could even commute there daily and pretend she‘s still staying there.

I never thought I’d say this, especially so soon after she got it, but GOOD GOD SOMEONE TAKE THAT MICROPHONE AWAY FROM HER.

It’s an entirely new level of anti-ASMR hell, she’s whispering into it but the sound is somehow just as deafening and incoherent as her normal shouting-into-the-wind audio.

Gosh I miss our pretending-to-be-a-writer girlypop. Come on why can't she just drop out and twirl around in her garden again. At least we got regular videos.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't upload a single video between now and the end of half term as Trinity Term starts on the 21st of April. I have to admit though it does seem strange that she hasn't uploaded anything because when she came back from her break I fully expected her to go back to how she was before and upload videos every Wednesday, yet she hasn't uploaded for 2 weeks and seems to be taking another break from YouTube which suggests that she hasn't got the motivation to film a new video.

Her facial expression here enrages me.
All her facial expressions are irritating, but the glasses are the one thing I really can’t stand. She probably thinks oversized classes make her facial features look smaller and younger. She has her mother’s general face shape though, and it’s going to catch up to her very soon.

The way she is whispering and simpering made me think she thinks she is the most precious and the most baby ever (and I mean baby in the literal sense).

She has the air of being so spoiled and pampered and kind of "I know I am spoiled into a stupor of stupidity and I am proud of myself for it". Like how does she not watch it back and get intensely embarrassed

I just reread this and saw how you met your first Jewish person at Uni. This really puts things in perspective for me.

When I was in Elementary, Middle and High School I had friends, from Grade 1, who were Jewish, Italian, Irish, German, Norwegian, Swedish, Indian, Japanese, Cuban, Guatemalan, and from various African countries. We lived in the country. Cities are even more diverse. This was and is the norm.

In the neighbourhood my husband and I live in now we have 2 families from Greece, 2 from mainland China, 1 from Taiwan, Lithuania, 2 Jewish families, one couple with English and Norwegian background, 3 with Irish background, 2 from India, and ourselves. We did have a lovely black family but sadly they ended up divorcing and both left the town, though he occasionally comes back to visit with everyone and seems lonely. I'm French Canadian, Scandinavian and Iroquois, my husband is Irish and English. We are all one happy family. This is why I found it strange that she never had friends of other ethnic groups or people of colour, or indigenous friends. I can't even imagine it that way. Interesting. Thank you all for enlightening me on the situation in the UK.
I think we, in the UK, view heritages differently than the US. For example, so many Americans refer to themselves as Irish, as their great grandparents were immigrants who left Ireland for the US but to the rest of the world we would just say they’re American, not Irish, they just have Irish heritage.
