I’m amused that she has a whole holiday reset list and does all these things every time she goes on a trip or holiday, because she goes on holiday SO OFTEN. She must spend half her life doing this list.

Also the photos she loved from Italy, I couldn’t help noticing that there was a beautiful photo of blakeney. I wonder why she wanted that one printed lol.

Do people send postcards anymore? Couldn’t imagine getting 17 postcards a year from each of her trips. I think I would start to bin them straight away. Nobody cares that much.

I did find the memory video sweet, I do it myself too when I’ve been somewhere nice or had a nice month but…I also post it, share it with my family and friends. Not just keep it only for me and the person I went on the trip with…that part felt strange to me lol.

What do you think will be her next back-to-school video?

1. What is in my pencil bag
2. What is in my school bag
3. Preparing for back to school
4. Back to school preparations
5. Setting up my planner for back to school
6. Study tips for back to school
7. Necessities for back to school
8. My night before back to school routine
9. My morning back to school routine
10. My evening back to school routine
11. My night time back to school routine
12. I can't make friends and am lonely back at university/there were tears
13. My first marks back at university and what I did wrong
14. Dark Macademia with Ruby back at school routine
15. We need to normalize back to school routines routine
This just reminds me why I started following Ruby. 14 year old me was SOOO excited for my future education and these types of videos made me even more excited lol but I couldn’t imagine being that excited now as a 25 year old.

Only she's capable of having a reset from a holiday routine.

The first thing to do is "unpa-" She can't even do editing without cutting off what she's saying. "It's time-consuming to put things back because everything in my room has a vague place" Yes, for someone that's so into organization it definitely makes sense for things to only have a vague place where they go.

Why on earth is her diffuser sitting on top of what looks like an Ipad?!

I have never had someone send me a photo of them with me for my birthday. Such an odd choice.

Edit: her book/present for her sister looks absolutely horrible. I wish she'd give up on the book-binding thing. The books are great before she rips them apart.

“Reset” routines are very popular on TikTok - I think she’s siphoning from that in her endless quest for a new personality.

I'm just laughing at her need to reset at all, considering how laid back her entire life is. She would never have survived in my shoes, nor that of most people. Way back in the day, when I graduated from uni, my parents brought me home, gave me a present, then took off to go camping for the weekend. I stayed home to unpack, do laundry, get outfits ready and start my full-time job 2 days later. I had to work for 6 months, full time, before I could get 5 days off with pay. Another 6 months before the next 5 days, and so on. Eventually it went up to 15 days per year, after I had been there for 5 years. She has absolutely no comprehension of reality!

"A tidy space means a tidy mind." That would explain the messy chaos of your brain, Rubes.

Reminds us again that she went away with her "best" friend. omg What is wrong with her??? Dang, woman. She is your only friend and you haven't seen each other for a full year! What a deep relationship you have. Not!

Writes a postcard to herself. Can't journal, like a normal person. Gotta make it extra, then normalize it. Make notes, people, make notes.

Granny scarf for Rubes to wear when she twirls in fields and writes in rain. Yeah. Another pointless video by Rubster.

One fateful evening, after a long day of investigation, Emelia returns home to find her mummy in a bit of a tipsy state, laughing as she swirls around with her glass of wine in hand. "Emelia, darling, you won't believe what happened today!" Mrs. Sinclair exclaims with a merry grin.

Emelia is used to her mummy's antics but still approaches her with concern. "What happened, mummy?"

"I was trying to demonstrate a dance move I saw on TV, but I slipped down the stairs and ended up rolling like a tumbleweed!" Mrs. Sinclair giggles, attempting to mimic her little mishap, but stopping herself just in time. "Oh, it was hilarious!"

Emelia can't help but smile at her mummy's infectious laughter. "You should be more careful, mummy. I don't want you getting hurt."

"Oh, don't you worry, my dear," Mrs. Sinclair assures her, taking another sip of her drink. "I've had my fair share of tumbles and bumps. A few bruises never stopped me from having fun!"

As the night wears on, Emelia tucks her mummy into bed, making sure she's comfortable and safe. However, little does she know that another misadventure awaits Mrs. Sinclair.

In the middle of the night, a loud crash startles Emelia awake. She rushes to her mummy's room to find her sprawled on the floor, having fallen from her bed. Emelia helps her up and checks for any injuries, relieved to find nothing more than a few bumps and bruises.

"I told you to be careful, mummy," Emelia scolds gently, trying to hide her worry.

"I know, I know," Mrs. Sinclair replies with a sheepish smile. "But you know me, darling. Gracefulness isn't my strongest suit."

Emelia helps her mummy back to bed and stays by her side until she falls asleep. It's in moments like these that Emelia realizes how much she cares for her mummy and how much she cherishes their unique bond.

As the days pass, Emelia continues her investigations, while her mummy tries her best to avoid any further mishaps. But fate has its own plans. One afternoon, as Emelia returns home from school, she finds her mummy stuck on top of the iron gate at the front of their house.

"Mummy, what on earth happened?" Emelia asks, rushing to her mummy's aid.

"I was trying to show the neighbors that I could do a cool stunt, but I got stuck," Mrs. Sinclair admits, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

With a combination of laughter and concern, Emelia helps her mummy down from the gate. "You really are one-of-a-kind, mummy. But maybe let's stick to less risky endeavors from now on, okay?"

Mrs. Sinclair chuckles, giving her daughter a playful wink. "You're right, my clever girl. I'll leave the daring adventures to you."
This very funny take on Ruby and mummy Granger 😅 makes me wonder if her mother keeps her blood alcohol high to numb the pain from all those accidents? (Yeah, don't question that logic too hard 😉)

Ruby: *ducks up*

Ruby: I slightly overestimated my watercolor capabilities

And then her another defense is that she didn't have watercolor paper lol then why didn't you just get one? why not practice? why not paint again??? why destroy a perfectly good book cover when you don't know what the crap you're doing??? Again, why not practice beforehand??

She's grown up believing that she's so talented and naturally gifted that practice isn't necessary and she'll be able to nail anything first try. Having Mummy continuously coddling her and a curated echo chamber of fans shouting how she's an awe-inspiring genius for stringing together a sentence full of errors or telling her that her half-assed videos are true cinematic masterworks hasn't exactly divorced her of that notion.

I know the timeline hijinks aren't surprising or noteworthy at this point, but I swear around 5 minutes into the new video, she shows her chipped blue nails, then shows footage of her repainting her nails the same blue shade, and calls this a 'slight interlude' before she moved on to tidying her room - at which point in the footage her nails are white, and chipped (again)? I feel like I'm actually losing my mind after that...

She can’t allow herself to give any acknowledgement to the valid criticisms she receives, but I’m sure at some level she does “hear” what is said about her (given that we know she reads Tattle), and that it contributes to her narcissistic approach. I’m not suggesting she is a clinically diagnosable narcissist, just that all her worst behaviours and traits are unfortunately cultivated by social media success… as tends to be the case. Like so many people who achieve some degree of fame or notoriety, she feels insecure or unworthy deep down which is why she can’t actually be herself (her real self) - or rather, doesn’t seem to have much of a real self left to be, at this point.

I have now gone back and watched a handful of her earliest videos in the wake of my couple of posts earlier in the thread about gift hauls (2018/2019), which only confirms this for me further. Was she spoilt and inexperienced back when she started her channel? Yes - but she was so, so much less curated and fake, too. She had a hodge podge of weird likes and interests; she was “uncool”, partly because she was trying too hard, yes, but partly because she actually WAS the person she was portraying.

While I’m sure there were people who would find the early Ruby unbearable (which is justified!), I’m a little older than her and I find her irritating but basically harmless. The transformation from then to the collection of stereotypes and poorly copied aesthetic trends that she is now, is… really quite something. She was so much more willing to admit ignorance, to show actual vulnerability, to acknowledge real adult interests like politics, and was just an all round more interesting person even at sixteen or seventeen than she is now.

I did wonder if she was as she did study theology and she did things like read the Bible and she mentioned listening to 'The Daily Prayer,' on her study with me vlogs years ago.

I was surprised to see her potentially scheduling prayer for 20 minutes.
---
That is a common way to write about praying in the UK / British English. It’s a noun form, so taking time for praying can = prayer.
Oops that was me being very stupid or dyslexic even though I'm form the UK 😅

Lol, sorry @Redrose97 😂 Tbh I was surprised too, as I never got the impression that Ruby was personally religious. I wonder if she’s touting for the tradwife viewership, haha.

If Ruby HAS found a faith, that isn’t something I will critique or make fun of her for as it’s a personal thing, and can bring a lot of comfort. However, as with everything she does, I can’t help but wonder if it’s just another notch on her performative “sickly Victorian poet child” belt lol

I only get “reset” time after y holidays is if I use a day of annual leave up to do it.

TBH I prefer to take a week but only go away for 4-5 days i have a couple of life admin days to get sorted before going back to work. Oh and I have 27 days leave a year (FT- 38 hours a week) which is pretty good but it has to factor in if I need a day because the boiler breaks etc
