Ruby's back on her nonsensical performative poverty bull. She wasted £750+ on an iPad Pro and keyboard combo that she didn't need since she owns an iMac, a MacBook and an iPad, but tries desperately to convince everyone that she's VARRY PWOOR and this was a VARRY SOSSTAINABLE PARRCHASE because it was (GASP) SACKOND-HAAHHND.

Don't forget the gifted laptop she had athall that is now probably covered in mould

One of the things I semi-respected her for was continuing to use her old iPad since the tasks she does on it aren't intensive. I do the same - my iPad is from 2018 but I only use it to read some of the files I keep on Google Drive or to occasionally watch movies, with everything else done on my laptop or phone. There is absolutely no need for an iPad Pro for the kind of "work" she'll be doing, never mind in addition to an iMac, MacBook, iPad, and the litany of other devices she's been gifted over the years.

Her latest video was so awkward when she went on and on about the iPad. Is this literally the first one she has ever owned? Sorry, but they are so common now that I fail to see the big deal about it. They have been around for ages. I can't believe she is planning to do a video to show what she has on hers. That is so passe. Does anyone even bother to do that now, especially someone her age? I don't even see young kids doing that anymore. iPads are just not a big deal, in spite of their price, and she didn't even get hers new. I can just see it failing her in the middle of her Masters, losing all her info. Refurbished ones can play some nasty tricks on you. The rest of the video was just ridiculous. A grown woman showing her "back to school" haul is just twisted.

I swear she had an iPad during her time in school. I know she bought a new one during her time at AXATAR which she had for years.

I can’t make it past 4 minutes of this new video. At the age of 23, she really needs to let go of her fixation on school. This video would have performed way better if she’d of said something about preparing for Oxford rather than “back to school”.

As normal, her suggestions and tips are all just busy work. Who has the time to sit down and write all of their “key ideas” after every class. Most students have classes back-to-back!

I always cringe so much to imagine one of her family members filming her as she does this.
Also, it's 2023. The teacher will post the key ideas on the class virtual blackboard.

She says sticky notes are "really good, especially with library books." NO! I used to work in the college library; most sticky notes and tabs harm books because they are, well, sticky. When you remove them the ink usually sticks to the glue and the print fades. You need to be extra careful with older books especially, as they tear so easily as well. I know it seems it's minor damage, but imagine how many people use the same books in a library for how long a time and you will see that Roo is a selfish mole.

- First 60 seconds: she says zebra sarasa pens are her favorite and they write so nicely. NO! vintage colour series look nice, but they are terrible pens to actually write with. I bought them because of their assthetic and using them genuinely feels like I am carving the letters on a woodblock with a knife. I think this is a good metaphor for her fake and crass persona as well.
- It's incredible to me that despite 1)being rich and 2)having used fountain pens since at least her high school years, she only has the basic models of Lamy and Parker pens. They are perfectly fine and I like them and I am poor lol but they are like entry-level pens--doesn't mean they are cheap btw, there are better pens within the same price range, but it means that they are the ones you would buy first to see if you like writing with f.pens. How can you be R I C H and into stationery, calligraphy, and handwriting and never once try a pen that you could not get from literally any basic stationery shop in the world (even in the global south! lmao) is beyond me.

Ugh, that floor  I'm assuming someone in her family, most likely her mother, is filming this and saw no problem with showing their house in this state. So up to some point, you can say that Rumbster is just used to living in filth and it's normal for her because she was brought up like that. But then... she grows up? she goes to other people's home? She sees other people's home in videos, movies, series etc?? Did she really never notice that nobody has wet, disgusting floor, and grimy countertops, moldy sinks, and smelly sheets????

What makes their kitchen even worse is that the glass ceiling retracts with a crank. These vacant-minded dunces often just leave it open even on rainy days, so their whole kitchen - floors, countertops, piano in the corner, everything - gets flooded with rainwater all the time. I don't know if that's how they think other people clean their kitchens, but I dread to think what that house smells like.

Really annoyed me that she was so in love with the new iPad and it became her favourite thing when she already has an iPad 9th gen which does exactly the same thing except doesn’t have the home button. And she also has a MacBook and an iMac.
I bet she won't even use it. I can see her turning up to seminars with parchment and a quill, because she will finally be at Hogwarts Oxford.

I get that ipads are useful for making 'NYYOTESSS' but she has a macbook she could use, plus the other ipad, plus that Remarkable digital notepad thing that she shills as being excellent to write notes on and can transfer the files over. So what gap is the bigger ipad filling, exactly? She's going to need to plug them all in every night to charge.

Surely most students get by ok with a laptop and maybe an ipad for handwriting notes.

I think she only got the new-to-her ipad because of the video, was it sponsored?

Shock horror, I don't think this one is that bad. Strictly because you can see it is actively raining outside. A bit of water on the floor from coming in and out when it's raining isn't the end of the world. It happens to everyone, especially when you have dogs. In saying that, it's also why I personally invested in doormats.

But I will conceed that the grout is absoloute filth.

I don't blame her parents for the house not being sparkling. You get to a stage of life where it stops mattering so much. The amount of times I've scrubbed the kitchen floor on my hands and knees, and where did it get me? You don't eat off the floor. We're obsessed with cleanliness nowadays, largely due to Instagram and TikTok. Aspirational BS designed to make us feel inadequate and spend money on products. Which brings me nicely back round to Rooibos's content.

Oh my god thank you, yes! I've hated these pens after giving into the hype and buying them a few months ago. It's such an irritating feel and not smooth at all. My usual go-to pen is either a Muji 0.38 or a Pilot rollerball V5 so I just assumed it was not the right type of pen for me, but Sarasa attempt was an unexpected let down lol.

More OT pen talk -

gel pens -

Pilot G2 .7
Muji classic gel .5 (not the clicky ones which are awful)

ballpoint -

ParkerJotter with refill
Zebra Z grip

Fountain pen-

kawecko sport or the cheap stabilio one (can’t remember the name)

I know, we have been over this a thousand times, but the state of her nails in this video freaks me out. I am far from demanding perfectly polished nails on a day to day basis or even for any other video where her nails are just a side character. Nail polish should be fun, it can be a fuss to upkeep and honestly, for most occasions the state of your nails wouldn’t interest me the least. But for the love of god, if half of your shots are closeup that are meant to be aesthetically pleasing (because there is no other reason to show her putting stickers on things - it’s just about pleasing pictures), then get your act together. Just take the polish of, choose a shade that isn’t as noticeably shabby when chipped or simply redo them. There are options. But these worn off tip ex nails make my skin crawl.

I found iPads are only really necessary for more science-based subjects, which include maths and diagrams which make it hard to type notes. For an English degree it is completely and utterly redundant for note-taking. It’s good for annotating PDFs but her old iPad *and* remarkable were both perfectly capable of that. It’s just consumeristic bs, just like when she got the iMac even though she could’ve achieved exactly the same setup with simply a monitor plugged into her MacBook.

The other thing iPads are useful for is entertainment (especially the pro as it has a really nice oled screen) but of course Ruby NAVVAR watches TV or movies 🤷‍♀️

One thing I have always noticed is that when people do these kind of videos; showing their back to school hauls, decorating hauls, or stationary hauls, they list everything below and include links their viewers can also order them if interested. Not only does she bother to do this out of consideration for interested parties, but she also doesn't answer anyone in the comments who are asking. Pretty rude and selfish of her. So much for her motto of being kind! She is such a hypocrite!
