For me, in the kitchen, it is all the dust crumbs in and around the clutter (endless jars and saucepans and tea towels). It just not a clean place to prepare food (I doubt anyone really cooks though) and it's so chaotic.

I vacuum frequently, mop occasionally, but rarely do I get on my knees to scrub the kitchen floor (maybe twice a year in the corners). It's not a bombsite like their house though. I think the big difference is they just wear whatever footwear inside and trek all this shit in. And the dog. Plus the house is too big for them. I'd hate to be responsible for that house, to be honest. We have three toilets in our place and that's already burden enough.

Pentel Energel is my recommend. Only one that dries quick enough for a fast-writing left hander like me and beautifully pigmented ink. Love the stationery side theme, personally. Ruby's handwriting is both ugly and illegible.

Her whole "learning Latin" schtick made me immediately shake my head, it just screamed performative and to fit the dark academia aesthetic.
Yeah, as always with Ruby, she has gone about it in a fake and stupid way, but learning Latin for early modern literature studies is actually a normal and sensible thing if she’d done it properly. People who genuinely want to specialise in that field learn Latin.

Of course Ruby has no actual interest in the period, so why would she bother? 😂

She just "painted" over and completely ruined this book...
She tried to go full Athelstan here. (from the show Vikings, if you've seen it you'll know what I mean)

Just second into the new video. Who is this "we" she keeps talking about? "when we think of relaxation, when we think of free time activities, they do tend to be social things, and it's just not as acceptable tyo decide to do something by yourself for pleasure..."

:m
The royal we? The Papal we?

I suffered through the rest of the video and it was profoundly boring, but I think this might break her record for most undeclared ads in one video.

Multiple ads for BARDEN BLAND, ads for RAMMADEE KYOMBYOOCHAAAH, Faber & Faber, Crosstown Donuts, PONKIPODTIFTEA, Andersen Press, Hip Oat Milk and more. Nothing but gifted products and not a single ad declaration of any kind.

I sometimes think I'd like to be the kind of person who gets coffee while I'm out - but that's not me, it's not who or what I am and what would be the point? To spend money unnecessarily on something I don't want to drink and for what? For an aesthetic? Which, in my case, no one except me would see? Ruby, just be you, if you even know who you are.

I assumed it was a video sponsorship deal with a company and not relating to a scholarship. The total cost of her masters (tuition plus a flat or room in Oxford for a year) won't be above £25k I imagine, which is more than affordable for a 23-year-old landlord.
This. And let’s be real - she can probably cover the full amount with about five to ten sponsored videos.

will she sell the "cook book"?! if yes, let's hope she doesn't get into trouble because of copyrights...

it reminds me of this booklet my mother has. it's from when my brother went to primary school and they had this school function or something and the parents (well, mothers) handed in a handwritten recipe to get copied and used for this booklet. that was in the late 1980s.
when I went to primary school in the early 90s, we did a booklet, too, but we, the students, had to write a piece, something about a day trip etc. I only remember because a friend from primary school found her booklet and sent a photo of my text a few years ago via Facebook.

Ruby could do a zine, they seem to be quite popular on the internet in the art communities.
Actually I do hope it'll happen if she tries to sell it. She needs to learn that not everything can be copied without consequences.

You know, some of the bookish things to do that ChatGPT has come up with are actually quite cool. Might have to try some of them.🤣

Regarding the taxi and learning to drive, I think of city living as shown in Sex and the City, a particular episode where the girls borrow a car and realise that none of them knows how to drive, because they've lived the city life. Yes, thats a fictional example. But when I am in the city for work, i use only public transport, walking or if Im struggling ( I have a chronic pain injury) I'll take a taxi or uber even if its just a few blocks over.

However, I personally believe that knowing how to operate a car and holding a license to drive is such an important skill. I am currently a bit rural, I'd be screwed if I didn't know how to drive a car. Also, many employers prefer an employee that knows how to drive. Even if one doesn't have one's own car, it can be very important that an employee is able to drive a company car for a variety of reasons. Driving is a life skill. A rather necessary one.

Just wondering, is that a reflection on the computer screen? Or is it lots of nasty finger prints?

Finger prints. Normally there's nothing with that kind of shape in her window space so...

Regarding her most recent video, I don't see an issue taking the taxi to and from work? I work nights and I don't drive. Also, I hate walking home in the dark so I book a taxi to pick me up when I finish my shift. I really dont see the issue?
For me the only issue with that is that she always pretends to not have lot of money and seems rather stingy ( just the state of her clothes, remember the dress) while we all know that she has enough to take the taxi. Plus the fact she constantly brags about being fond of cycling and wanting to do something for the environment, taking the taxi for a short distance like that is the opposite, which add to her long list of everyday lies, it's not even a shared trip.

I guess nobody would notice it if she acted like her normal self and simply say that she doesn't like the idea of driving herself and prefers to take a taxi because she can. But here it's the lies which make the idea annoying. Take that just like her "veganism", nobody would be angry at that if she didn't said she has some food preferences, but her pretending to be a vegan then having leather items is just a lie for attracting a very trendy public and that's the main problem here.

Wait, a letter from a Somerset writing retreat? So Ruby went on another writing retreat after the Devon one?

View attachment 2355452

Nope, never mind, Ruby's just lost track of what the hell she's pretending to be doing and where she's pretending to be going while juggling too many lies about how busy her life is.

She even had to act like she had to cut this letter short because she was JOSST SYO VARRY BUSYYYY, even though she apparently had plenty of time to waste on yet another meandering, pointless letter in which she blathers about nothing but the weather.

"Every day without fail,(though the kind sometimes changes)."

Ruby thinks she's a gifted writer overdue a publishing deal, then she constantly offers up shit like this garbled mess and calls it a sentence.
This letter is so painfully boring.

I’ve seen most of Rubert’s more recent haul videos, but I actually hadn’t seen the 2018 one, so this evening I took some time to watch it and it… weirdly, made me feel a bit sad? She seems much happier, more grounded and more normal in it than in anything recent. The contrast is so strong that (for me at least) it’s genuinely unsettling.

There was so much more authenticity in the 2018 one, I felt (less advertising, and much more content reflecting products she genuinely used), and she looked A LOT better when she wasn’t so under-nourished. While I realise she’s doing it to herself and that it’s a mental health issue (whatever the exact problem - ED, control problems, etc), she has the support and resources to make changes in her life. She’s not dependent on limited NHS mental health support or an absent GP. It’s sad to see someone destroy their body in pursuit of what they perceive to be a desirable “childish” aesthetic when, frankly, she’s short and blonde - plenty of people would have continued to see her as young and as an ingenue even if she had stayed a healthy weight.

She seems to have far more of a genuine interest in her family and her social relationships in the 2018/2019 gift hauls too (I rewatched 2019 to compare after this one). I can believe she feels pleasure at spending time with them, that she actually appreciates the effort put into some of her presents and things like her dad making vegan Christmas food for her. Whereas in her recent videos, everything feels so fake and hollow.

It is a huge shame she has leaned into this attempt to aestheticise everything. She has totally lost touch with what made her channel work in the first place - while she was always vastly privileged, there was some charm and freshness to her back in the day. It wasn’t always pure cringe.

"Woodpecker" - "I didn't see a woodpecker." I don't see one either, Ruby, since you've included a photo of your dog showing its butthole where a picture of a woodpecker should be. Ruby claims she didn't see a woodpecker, but heard one.

lol i read this as " i didnt see a woodpecker but i did wear one" and i was so confused.

Roob makes sure to look dead in the camera while taking one, lonely bite of this biscuit after her speech, "sometimes you need a biscuit so i keep a biscuit tin under my bed for when i want a biscuit" or something. portrayal that she eats oh so casually (quite obviously deflecting her ED) whenever she wants.

I recently moved together into a new flat with my boyfriend and keeping up with dusting and the like in the city is hard. He’s used to living in the countryside and - at least at his parents house - they never have as much dust accumulate as quickly as we do in the city. So it baffles me even more that Granger manor is in that state, especially since they surely could afford some help? Also, if I were an influencer and saw that the viewers can see dead flies on my windowsill, I’d remove the flies and reshoot the shot instead of leaving it in like this.

The walk from her house to the school actually looks really nice too - you can cut across fields, etc. if I could walk 40 mins to work everyday (not that she goes in everyday!) I absolutely would! More proof that her persona built on these interests is just so fake.
Right? Just pop in a podcast and walk or bike there, so relaxing. My commute includes a 10 minute walk each way but it's through a dodgy urban area lol

Ruby's released her 'NAYCHA JARRRNAL' facsimile (or "FASCimile", as Ruby spells it - and "FAKE-SMILE", as Ruby pronounces it).

For just £8+P&P, you can experience the magic of Ruby discovering what a sparrow is, or the wonder of her 398th poem of the year about seagulls.
There seems to be a word missing as well. "The nature I kept" should probably be "the nature journal I kept". Two mistakes in one line on a supposedly professional business website.
