Jesus when did she do that?

Reading Harry Potter in Latin tells me she approached learning Latin like learning a modern language (that is, using things you're already familiar with). Which is a legitimate choice that some schools make but probably more trouble than it's worth. I never really got the point of that strategy since you're probably not gonna be talking to people or writing things in Latin. Latin is mostly used to translate classical texts using a dictionary. So imo it makes more sense to focus on what you need to do that (very good knowledge of grammar and translation techniques, mainly). Especially considering Latin is not even her academic focus area. Yes it's less fun but ultimately a lot more rewarding and efficient imo. Also Google Translate is rubbish at Latin
Source: studied Latin for five years and it was my favourite subject at school
Her whole "learning Latin" schtick made me immediately shake my head, it just screamed performative and to fit the dark academia aesthetic. I´ve also had latin in school for six years and had some courses with a bit of latin in uni (no translating, just working with latin terms and the ancient roman period). The way she approached learning it - at least according to what I could see on ig and yt - seemed very random. I also can´t imagine she´s getting anywhere with teaching herself latin without a teacher or at least any sort of former background (ie if I wanted to get into translating again I´d have to relearn a lot of things sure, but since I once learned the proper way of how to approach a latin text I would find it easier than someone who never had to translate something in latin.)

Ruby's released her 'NAYCHA JARRRNAL' facsimile (or "FASCimile", as Ruby spells it - and "FAKE-SMILE", as Ruby pronounces it).

For just £8+P&P, you can experience the magic of Ruby discovering what a sparrow is, or the wonder of her 398th poem of the year about seagulls.

And it wouldn't be Ruby merch if she just didn't bother sending stuff out. Right on cue, someone complains that they haven't received the poetry collection they paid for and right on cue, Ruby replies that it's "so strange" that the thing that always happens with her happened again.
She´s going to be an Oxford MA literature student and can´t even spell facsimile without a typo smh

Yeah, as always with Ruby, she has gone about it in a fake and stupid way, but learning Latin for early modern literature studies is actually a normal and sensible thing if she’d done it properly. People who genuinely want to specialise in that field learn Latin.

Of course Ruby has no actual interest in the period, so why would she bother? 😂

That makes sense. That´s actually one the things that made me iffy about her MA, do students not have to know basics in latin for an MA in Early modern lit to even be accepted to the course? Where I´m from it´s mandatory to have had a certain amount of latin in school (or take extra courses later on at uni) when you want to study medicine, law, theology, archeology, ancient history etc. I first thought she might start learning it for her masters, but if that were the case she´d have to take actual lessons with a teacher imo

No, because Latin offering is so uneven depending on what type of education you have and within the UK. Most schools do not teach it at all, and the UK education system (at least within humanities) values equal access quite highly, so there are fairly big efforts not to create barriers to people coming from less privileged schooling contexts. Ruby could have had private Latin lessons at any time (even as a teenager), if it was a real interest of hers, but of course many people would not find it quite so easy to access that. It is possible to some extent to combine self teaching and grants / financial assistance for intensive courses.

Some universities offer catch-up courses for things like Latin if you want to learn enough to use it in early modern studies. There is good awareness now of how diverse people’s prior knowledge is (some have a very good training in Latin while others have 0). You can even do a classics degree at Oxford without having studied classics before, it’s just very intense!

Hello, just dropped by to share my dream with you guys. Fresh from last night.

Rumbster was in my place, sitting on my chair and doing something on MY computer lol I was so angry in my dream, kept thinking how I would have to clean everything up omg For some reason I didn't chunk her out of the window, but simply stood and waited. My arms were folded though, not that Rob will understand a hint even if it offered her a money from charity.

then my baby brother came running into my room, pointed his butt right at her face and farted!!!! ahahahah I laughed so hard I woke up. I woke up laughing!!

also it's highly realistic because he loves sharing his farts with me. Anytime he is coming to me with hurried steps, I can be sure that he's going to fart, so I get ready to fight him off hehe

There seems to be a word missing as well. "The nature I kept" should probably be "the nature journal I kept". Two mistakes in one line on a supposedly professional business website.

She's screwed up the poetry pamphlet listing as well.

It's available for sale on the storefront, but she's left a note in the description to say they're sold out and she's considering a second printing, even though she's already on her third restock.

The storefront already has stock counters and shows the product as 'Out of Stock' when they've all been bought, so there's no need for this disclaimer at all, but her being too lazy to remove it when she's restocked, even knowing it's causing confusion for potential customers is Ruby all over.

She's also had people asking her about international postage since she first released this, now her response is that she'll do it tomorrow when the small amount of stock has sold out.

This is why I always find it hilarious when she moans about how she's SOCH A PRODOCKTIVE PARFACKSHONIST; in reality she's bafflingly disorganised and lazy, and everything she ever does is riddled with mistakes.

End of what year, precisely? Oh let me guess, she’s talking about the academic year at her old school, because god forbid she move on to defining time in terms of calendar years or even university academic years 🙄

In the new video she mentions a lot that she is behind on tasks, doing something at the very last minute etc... It feels like she's struggling to stay on top of things and it's not a very good look for a productivity youtuber 🤷‍♀️

She had a shower, got in her PJs then went in the garden barefoot? Do we think she washed her feet before she got into bed?
To be fair, the inside of the house isn’t any better. I bet she’s one of those people who thinks feet magically get clean on their own in the shower. Short answer: no.

Does it really matter, since she drags her bedsheets around the garden too? At some point of no return, you can stop washing your feet
