"Before I heard back I didn't know what I'd be doing next year like if I didn't get into Masters I wasn't really sure what I'd be doing next year and there's just so much space ahead when you graduate like academic years like separate everything quite neatly whereas leaving University it's just like this vast expanse of blankness it's quite nice having something something structured in place."

Sorry for the stream of consciousness, I took this quote directly from Ruby's video.

You can clearly see how lost and unsure she would be in the world without Academia to structure her life. Ruby is a young, bright woman who has means to try and explore different career choices. She could put her own structure in her life, but apparently she is unable to do so.
It's quite sad that she calls life outside academia a "vast expanse of blankness". Goes to show how much she closed herself off to the wider world.

A reminder that Ruby confidently wore this in a video that had nothing to do with embroidery and did not require this of her. She thought the only problem with her work was the loose threads.

She 100% thinks everything she does is incredible and worth showing off for the compliments she expects to get.

No comments from Jack or Jade on Ruby’s Instagram announcement …. 🤭

Also, the acceptance rate for her course is incredibly high. I believe the average admission rate for postgraduate courses at Oxford is 20-30%.

She said in her video she found out in ”early February”. She posted this on February 15.

She’s ”struggled to see light and positivity” in the week after she got accepted into Oxford?

I hope she fails. She doesn't deserve her spot there, hasn't earned it. I hope she drops out and gets some serious therapy.
Did you get rejected from Oxford or something? She went through the application process and got in, so she did earn her place 💀It’s not really a matter of deserving it or not. The veneration of Oxford from some people on this thread is insane. Stop romanticising it. It’s just a uni. Maybe the fact Ruby got in should wake people up to that fact! Personally I’m glad Ruby’s not going to be stewing at home for another year. Lol looking forward to the cringe content!!

Stick a fork in me, I'm done. I would pay good money to unsee/unhear her latest reel 😭

I cannot cope with "severing the dough with the same veracity you would a particularly stubborn placenta"

PLEASE, MAKE IT STOP 😭😭😭

Let's all get our applications in next year. If they'll take her then they'll take anyone except Jack Edwards. I can't believe it, we're all going to Oxford! 🥳

This also makes me realize how academia will continue to be a fun little activity for the elite and privileged. People like Ruby are perfect for preserving a certain type of knowledge (white and European). I mean, I'm not even surprised because Ruby isn't exactly the type of person to challenge the status quo. And academic institutions, aren't really for radical change. At their core, they thrive because of beneficiaries who want to continue to see themselves represented in history, the arts, and academic knowledge. This is why these institutions are so exclusive and expensive. It makes it way more difficult for a poor, working class student to pursue a degree without the safety net of wealth and other connections.

If you have imposter syndrome, I hope this helps you realize that a lot of these people just have advantages and benefit a lot from nepotism. They're not geniuses.

"Quite experimental"?

Amelie Dickason is the twalve year old Victorian ghost who comes to haunt the Drones household in Beddingtonshire. She leaves gifts of poetry and dead flies for the family, and helps the gifted daughter, Truby to fulfil her dreams of studying at Oxstead univarsity.

It can't just be a bookshelf tour, it has to be an ASSTHATTICK BOCKSHALF TWOOR, with "antique, beautiful books", not "beautiful antique books".

Ruby just got accepted into Oxford, but capital letters are still a struggle for her. Why are the words in brackets in her titles never capitalised? Why can she never use (or misuse) capital letters consistently?

We're apparently only getting a tour of two shelves in this nearly hour-long video, so this is part one of several, I guess? Ruby doesn't know the difference between bookshelves and bookcases, much like her inability to learn the difference between candles and candlesticks. Again, Oxford material, definitely lots of brain activity happening.

"This is my farrsst bockshalf," Ruby says, QVC-posing in front of a bookcase.

"And than...this is moiy SACKOND bockshalf," she says, pointing to a celestial chart hung on a blank wall.

Ruby appears to be displaying a 'process of elimination' tactic in identifying what a bookshelf is, by pointing to every object that isn't a bookshelf until she finally narrows it down. Maybe she'll get there one day.

It's quite fitting that she also has childish drawings of her own creation plastered on her wall like trophies. Evidently Mummy told her there was no room on the fridge for these works of..."art" and she was forced to tape them on her own wall instead.

Ruby claims that immediately after the last bookcaseshelf tour, people were demanding another one. In Ruby's world of deluded fantasy, her fans were commenting "Do it again! Encore!" mere moments after she uploaded it, crying out to see the exact same video they'd just watched of Ruby pointing at books she'd never read.

"The BEEYOOOTIFOL bocks hyear, which...you can offcwoarse farrsst seee aree moiy CHAARLDS DICKINS BOHKS."

In reality, these aren't Ruby's and were yoinked from the family library to pad out her shelves with some literary cred in a previous "bookshalf twooar". She didn't have enough books to fill out or justify the extra bookcase and had to shove family books, borrowed books and library books on to fill space and make herself look like a bookworm despite all evidence to the contrary.

"Annnd, oiy've gwot this caaahndlestick holdaaah - Oxfwud cahhhndlsetick," she says, picking up an Oxford candle from a candlestick.

With her hollow coconut of a brain and the mental deficiency on display, I'm beginning to suspect that it wasn't Oxford University that she got into...

I mean, people living in the real world wouldn't say rain is their favourite weather... especially when they have to walk to work etc
There's nothing quite like standing in the rain in the cold and dark after a long day at work, waiting for a bus that doesn't arrive, to zap the romance out of rain.

New to this thread. I keep seeing her at the top of Tattle and had to check her out. After 3 videos my question is this:

THIS is the type of person Oxford is accepting??

WARNING: DISCUSSION OF ED AND MENTAL HEALTH (I don’t know how to make a spoiler tag…)

So I’ve been thinking of posting something on this thread for a while… I’ve been aware of Ruby and her videos since I did my GCSEs in 2018, and have *loved* all of your messages on these forums since I discovered Tattle in 2020 during the pandemic. To preface this, I am just a simple 20 (nearly 21! Wooo) year old girl and I take full responsibility if this is a bit too much…

Ruby, in some ways, reminds me of myself. Not completely, but in some ways, which makes it easier to both internally criticise her and have some sympathy.

I’ve been a massive perfectionist my entire life. Probably driven through a very weird childhood, but other factors made it worse. I started reading long children’s books when I was 6 ish, making the fact I could read all of the 5th Harry Potter book within a few hours one of my personality traits. I had very few friends, but I didn’t mind too much as I had a superiority complex and thought myself as ”better” and not like other girls for most of my childhood. As a young girl, my whole world was reading and reading, and reading and reading. And once I hit about 9 ish, just after moving to another country it moved to “facts”. Since everyone told me how “incredibly smart” (UGH I hate past me) I was, I just pushed into this mindset completely. My parents said I couldn’t talk about a single thing other than “fun facts” and I was obsessed with getting full marks on every test. It was only made worse by living in a country that placed a big importance on school performance from around that age, as scholarships are one of the only ways to afford university for most people (and uni is needed to have a comfortable life).

But we moved house and moved to the UK, and I gained *some self awareness*. I still didn’t accept anything less than perfect marks in my test, and my intelligence was my greatest asset. Most people in the year thought I was weird and either teased me, or just didn’t put up with how “holier than thou” I acted. Which is fair enough! I was insufferable. But I too, just like Ruby presumably, took it as “bullying”.

I finished my GCSEs, with my two grade 6s really impacting my confidence, but I pushed on. And then A-Levels were cancelled by the pandemic and suddenly I was at university. BSc (Hans) 1st Class Economics graduate with 5,000,000 grad scheme offers here I come!

Now, I’ve always suffered with mental health issues. Most of being a teenager I was very skinny, and this obviously was a great source of pride at the time, as I really did base my “value” on everyone else’s opinions. My mood was all over the place and I could be a massive bitch to my family.

But coming to university, oh my God. Nothing was as hard as uni for me. I’ve lived in 3 continents, been in 12 schools, all of my family either have chronic illnesses or some kind of severe mental health problem. But nothing was as hard as uni. Slowly I gained weight, my marks were no longer perfect and I’ll probably be graduating with a 2.1 at best this July.

But I’ve grown up a lot. It took a lot of self reflecting, but I’m finally growing and realising my self worth IS NOT my grades. Or my weight. How little I eat. How smart I sound. How fucking successful I am. I don’t have a single job offer, I’m just going to live at home (bless my parents for letting me move back, I am so lucky for that tbh) and save money and hopefully do a Masters. I’ve even fallen back in love with economics after despising everything about the subject thanks to my fragile self worth.

And in this, I see Ruby. I can see her behaviours in mine. I’m a massive mess, but I felt the need my entire life to appear perfect online and to others (whether it’s true or me just bullshitting to them). Whether its lying about reading xyzzy amount of books in her case, or taking my BeReal with uni work and complaining about the intensity when I didn’t even have the energy to read a word of a powerpoint in my case. Posting her tiny meals, or me posting only super healthy and perfect looking meals I’ve cooked. Ruby feeling so distraught about a slightly lower than her unattainable (and unrealistic…. I’ve read her book) grade expectations, or me feeling like a failure with A*AA not 3A*s.

The issue is though, I grew up a bit. I’ve self reflected. I’ve gained self awareness and I am SO embarrassed by who I was. How catty I was to my brothers all because they don’t force perfection onto themselves and are happy. Never accepting a single criticism without being excessively defensive because my whole worth/value feels attacked.

Ruby… Doesn’t seem like she has. I don’t think she’ll be happy at Oxford. Whether she achieves what she sets out to or not, It’s just another opportunity to set herself targets above what she’s capable and feel shit inside again. The way she reacted to her dissertation mark exemplifies her top standards perfectly. And you can’t be so fragile if you want to achieve the best, you need to be able to accept critique and work on yourself.

I once dreamed of Oxford. And a small part of me would love the prestige of messaging my family abroad about it, seeming the perfect daughter and granddaughter, oh so impressive. But it wouldn’t be good for me. I also just can’t afford it lol. I wish she’d realise how privileged she is but that’s another tall order…. I at least had working full time during uni to afford to live to help humble myself.

And finally, I’m not one to diagnose. Nor is it appropriate for me to do so. But I’ve recently been diagnosed with ASD. And honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if I relate to Ruby in ways because of this too.

Sorry for the massive ramble and I apologise if I’ve crossed some unspoken lines, but I wanted to share my thoughts

Also I may delete this in a few days or so, just realised my username doxxes me a bit and I don't have an invite code to make a new account - anyone know how to change a username???

I think that she is going to have a problem in Oxford as she is not going to have a Blakney or use her regular techniques to get good grades. I think that her knowledge of the time period is limited and she can't exactly do a Notion timeline of the events in history. There is going to be the expectation of her having more independent thought instead of just relying on the critical readings all the time. I use them to help them build up my thoughts, especially as I was working on something rather original in what I was writing about. She could be reading a bit more Shakespeare and other literature form the period at least too build up her knowledge. She would have been better off with the Victorian course than this one, as she hasn't had much interest in Shakespeare other than a few mentions of reading A Winter's Tale etc.

Also off topic, just wanted to share that I have managed to get my highest ever grade in my masters course work yesterday of 76%. It's not the most brilliant I reckon, but I wanted to write about it, as I got it when working full-time hours at work and adulting, as well as being dyslexic, and I thought that It would annoy Ruby if she reads here. I want to thank everyone on Tattle for the laughs as I was working. I don't know if I should mention tattle in my dissertation for providing me some comedy and joy in this period of my life!

What is with her strange obsession with age? “At 2 I took my first steps. At 5 I read my first book. At 10 I rode a bike.” Those kind of milestones get old at about age 12 unless she’s vying for a spot in Forbes 30 under 30 list or something.
At 20 I stopped pulling pints and started pushing myself. I was born in Buckinghamshire but I was made in the Royal Navy.

People on these threads seem to grossly exaggerate the things ruby does. “She plagiarised her uni work” = she studied with a friend and shared notes (who hasn’t done this at uni)
“She stole money from a charity” = she accepted money from a charity to do an ad campaign about something (still pretty scummy but I’d argue about the “stealing” aspect)
Ofcourse she should rightfully be called out about some things but no need to misrepresent what she’s done….
I don't think people are exaggerating the uni stuff at all. Sure, people share notes, but no one shares every single thing they've done all term for every module. People also don't pick the exact same modules as one of their friends in second *and* third year and then try to pass it off as a coincidence. And the seminar 'debriefs' were the most bizarre of all, considering all you need to do for most seminars is the reading. They're meant to be natural discussions and I don't know a single person who would even think of meeting up beforehand to try to plan what they're going to say. That's what makes it appear that Ruby was mining Blakeney for ideas.

Thanks to @Griftwood for the thread title. These are Ruby's own words, from an Instagram post where she's attempting to sell her unwanted stationery. Some things never change.

Recap:

Ruby appears to have ditched her part-time school job and is currently on a skiing holiday. She can't ski and has already crashed into someone, but she remains an unstoppable force on the slopes. The self-styled 'Vegan Marshmallow' is happy as long as other people are paying for the trips. Thoughts and prayers are with @Ilaariaa who has left her city in order to escape Ski-bee, menace of the slopes.

In other news, Ruby has been plaguing public speaking events all across the country. No region is safe from her waffle. She's also been producing new and exciting content on social media. This includes: moving her single bed, wearing hats, listing her favourite months, listing her favourite weather types, asking followers about their favourite months, asking followers about their favourite weather types. Is it MIST or is it RAIN or is it SUN or is it SNOW or is it MAGENTA GREEN? We're on the edge of our seats here.

@LostGhosts has been kind enough to recap Erimentha Parker's To-Do List. These recaps have highlighted a deeply unsettling link between Erimentha Parker and Patrick Bateman. The book is full of jarring anatomical detail such as the the optics of rodents, the piercing orbs of bullies, 'sallow epithelial tissue', seizing epiglottises, carpal bones, finger pads and other frightening physical features.

Ruby's sister, Martha, says 'she has lost touch with reality'.
One of Ruby's followers comments on her lip smacking habit: 'it's quite loud and constant'.

Tattlers are still waiting for the results of her Oxford application. Nothing's been confirmed yet.
