She bought a cottage a few years ago. There was a vlog about it but the video's been removed, probably due to privacy issues and backlash. I'm pretty sure she rents it out. I know Ruby earned lots of money through YouTube, but I'm guessing her parents helped financially too? But yes, she does have the option of moving into her own place.
Yeah pretty sure she rents it out

I personally think it must drive her parents crazy, having her around all the time. If they want her to go to work, they have to drive her because she can't drive. Then her anxiety condition (which I of course have empathy for) where they can't leave her in the house alone. All her tea cluttering up the cupboards, taking her mother's stamp box (Roob claims that they 'share it'). Then her content creating, they have to be out of her way while she does her videos. Having THEIR home constantly on the internet.

As parents, Im sure they are worried about her. But yeah. It must also be irritating. They are at the age when its nice to just have your own space, kids out of the home. Especially given that both their kids seem to be able to afford to move out.
Not to mention the fact that you can't trust her with anything more complicated than loading the dishwasher because she'll duck it up.
Everyone I know who lives at home as an adult has taken on a more responsible role - not only do they usually work or study but they do chores, cook meals, take care of younger siblings/cousins or elderly relatives, run errands, etc. Some of them moved back home to help their families face a difficult time just by supporting them and taking things off their hands, by being an additional adult in the house that their family can turn to for help. None of them are just sitting at home allowing their parents to take care of them like a 10 year old.

There was lots of "JANUINELY moiy parents did NWOT give me money fwore the deposit, JANUINELY! OIY PROMISE YOO" denials, so it's a given that daddy put up the deposit.

Mortgage lenders are notoriously reluctant to lend to influencers because there's rarely a consistent, sustainable income, so I don't believe for a second that she got a mortgage at 18 when her channel was relatively new without her parents being heavily involved and putting up cash.

There was also lots of "Oiy'm JANUINIELY nwot making this video johst tyoo brag and byoast!" disclaimers, she "JANUINELY" saw it as a big step in her "parrsonal devalopmant" to be able to overcome her fear of living alone and was "johst syo acksoyted" to...buy a house that she had no intention of living in for several years at least. So it's a given that she uploaded the video just to brag and boast.

Watch the video in the Wiki and take a shot any time she says "JANUINELY". Your liver will be pickled before the video's finished.

Ah yes, her whole content is based upon her lighting candles and frolicking about her bedroom and gardens...in their house. I think she would be afraid to move away because her aesthetic is based upon that house.

But then again, she has a cottage so she could do cottagecore vlogs in the future.

I'm confused as to why her LinkedIn states that she graduated in 2023. Did she do this to make it seem like she hasn't been out of school for that long? Or is it just a mistake?

Also, adding Trampolining Society and Harry Potter society (VP) is definitely not the kind of thing you add to a professional LinkedIn profile as an adult. I wouldn't even have added this to my academic resume as a teen. Lol.

I suppose you could add it, if you wrote it in such a way that it highlighted the transferable skills you gained while being in that role. I don't know, things like organising events, managing teams, getting funding, that sort of thing. But just writing it down like that makes it sound really childish and like she's desperately trying to pad out her CV.

Yup, particularly as we know her trampolining society participation consisted of her going to one or two out of three weekly practice sessions in her final term and spending half an hour flopping around (out of a three-hour slot). She prioritised painting her nails and writing a letter to her yoga teacher, among other things.

Her entire CV needs to be cleaned up. I am currently job hunting and they only want recent (relevant) work experience. Most even advise against putting down all your coursework. It still baffles me that she hasn't gotten rid of "head girl" or all the things she did so long ago. I was salutatorian at my high school and I stopped putting that down on my resume once I got into college. And again, does anyone have any idea why it says she graduated in 2023 instead of 2022? She also hasn't added her current job title. She was able to keep anonymity by not sharing the name of her school, so she could easily do that by only adding her current job title instead of student.

It's Friday riddle time!

You're locked in a cell. There are two doors, each guarded by a Ruby.

One door leads to freedom, the other leads to a grisly death.

One Ruby always lies, the other Ruby always tells the truth.

You can ask the Rubies one question. What do you ask to find out which door will lead to freedom?

Trick question. There's no version of Ruby that tells the truth, and no matter what you ask, Ruby will just ignore your query and bore you to death with a factually incorrect, several-hour-long LACKCHURR about Victorian door handles instead.

Yeah her linkedin is a mess. I was always told to keep summary’s and descriptions brief to engage people to read it yet hers are paragraphs upon paragraphs. Does an employer really care about every single module you took during your degree? No. Listing your favourite/significant once suffices. They also don’t care about head girl and school qualifications either as others have said. Also adding her god awful erithmina book as her ‘publications’ does her no favours either. Your LinkedIn shouldn’t be a timeline of your life just the best, most professional parts that would be relevant to a job… reading through hers is exhausting.

Jack and Eve have much better profiles imo, way more concise.

I dont think listing out the modules is appropriate either. Especially where she puts an explanation in square brackets about attending the class but not formally taking the module. Just because she is so studious and awesome, she sat in on the class out of interest. Like, what is she trying to say? And why? It comes across as try-hard

It comes across as plain weird. Why, at uni, are you not busy enough with your own course and learning so you’re having to resort to taking up a space in another course’s lecture?

She reminds me of those people at work that brag about pulling all-nighters or staying logged on in til 9pm thinking the managers will be impressed when really it just shows that you have no idea how to manage your time.

If I was a hiring manager looking at this, I’d be thinking if you have so much free time, why not volunteer/gEt a JoB?

the societies seem so random and not relevant to a job. I thought carefully which hobbies to put on my CV and decided to mention those that show 1. my interest in the job and 2. didn't sound boring or childish (like creating stitch markers with shrink foil, which I did the other day 😃 it's a fun activity, but I only state in my CV the relevant things that show that I am a creative person.
on my LinkedIn I only list what I did study and that I was an editor at a student newspaper. maybe I should add that I went to the university-gym.

This linkedin page just screams “I’ve never been employed before!”. If I was an employer, I’d not pay the slightest bit of attention to the fact she was VP of the Harry Potter society lmao, I’d already have clicked off the page at that point.

On my CV I only listed the exams that are useful to clarify what my degree was in and what I learnt l. You could also write, for example, "Law degree with a focus on xx". It's not necessary to put every single thing you did in uni, no one cares.
A CV should be one or two pages max. If it's longer than that you're doing something wrong

Speaking about Ruby filling up her day with random stuff you'd do if you had time off work or to relax after work; I wonder how she doesn't get bored of it. I'm a uni student, and I struggle with pretty bad anxiety; I'm unable to go to my lectures most of the time as I worry too much, and I usually fill my day with reading, watching Netflix, going on walks, etc. After two days of doing that, I get so fed up I could feel myself going crazy! I don't understand how she does all these things every day, and it's because she can earn money from it, so she doesn't care. (it also does not help that her job consists of easy things to do.. she doesn't have to deal with customers face to face, annoying co-workers, and all other things you get for having a job.)

If that CV hit my desk, I'd have a chuckle that someone with the fake surname Granger was highlighting her time in the Harry Potter society and then immediately move on to another application from someone with some amount of actual experience and common sense.

On the other hand, I'd love to see someone interview her and grill her about all the fake/wildly embellished entries on there.

Interviewer: "It says here you're a voice-over artist with 3+ years of experience. Can you tell us a little about the companies you worked for, and what roles you performed?"
Ruby: "YASS. WHAL. Oiy...DYO perform MANNY ryoles...which...umm...and as oiy say, it's varry...ummm...William WAARDSWAARTH once sad that theee hyole warrld's a styage and we are boht merely doing acting...on that...umm...[waves claw hand around]...warrhld's stage. Haha. And...umm...yah."
Interviewer: "Wasn't it William Shakespeare who wrote that?"
Ruby: "ACSHUALLY, Oiy've haard manny peopol say it. Weee...tand tyoo think of language and quotes as being tangibly assyociated with one parrson, when it's really more of an ethereal...folk tale...geneology whaaahr, when someone says something, someone alse repeats it differently and thann weee can navver knyow who ackshually sad it. It's really quoyte fascinating."
Interviewer: "[Holds up phone] I Googled it; William Shakespeare wrote it. But let's get back to your previous roles. It says here that you run a business single-handedly. That's really impressive! Can you walk us through a day in your role as company director?"
Ruby: "Umm...YASS...ummm...it's...[sweats profusely]...I can JANUINELY tal yoo that oiy DAFFINITELY DYOO run moiy own company...ONE HONDRED PRUSSANT. Oiy PROMISE YOU THAT. So...yah. JANUINELY."
Interviewer: "But what do you do?"
Ruby: "Umm...wal...Na-thaynn-yal Hworethorn once wrote that...umm...and...weee tand tyoo...umm...PONKIPODDOTIFFTI...and...umm... JANUINELY...oiy...umm... moiy basst frand Blakeney...umm...and syo... I've had Roobee yammering on in the background today while I waahrk, and it's amazing how many lies one catches. In that video that was sponsored by the wildlife conservation charity where she JANUINELY wasn't being paid but had to declare it an ad, she called it a sponsorship the whole time. If it wasn't sponsored, wouldn't you call it a collaboration...?

I wonder how she doesn't get bored of it. I'm a uni student,
To be fair, im also having a gap year and I dont remember getting bored a single moment since i finished my last exam. There are many activity options
Meeting with friends, watching tv, books, going to market (as an excuse to go out), making coffee, chatting with mum, taking my cat to garden in good weathers, making origami AND BEST OF ALL napping at home. I also go to an art course a few days a week and I sometimes work on my painting at home as well
I feel like the stress we go through during school contributes to boredom when we can not use our free time efficiently towards work OR entertaintment. As if we are wasting our "free" time by not taking advantage of every second.
