King's College London were daft enough to let Ruby speak in a public forum about Gen Z stereotypes and I can't think of anyone more out of touch and ill-equipped to offer anything of value to this conversation.

It's probably not a coincidence that none of the public speeches she gives ever end up posted online. I wish we could see what drivel she came out with.

The irony of Holocaust charity swindler Ruby ending up sat between an expert in moral and social theology, a student of ethics and a Rabbi two days before Holocaust Memorial Day is quite something.

She's also now identifying as a WROITAH and entrepreneur, even though her only business ties are getting paid in snack bars to post undeclared ads and pretending she's the owner of a failing business that she has no involvement in.

Ruby being asked to speak anywhere but especially on behalf of an entire generation is maddening!

I just can’t imagine her controlling a class, especially if some of the kids are extroverted and chatty. I think back to my school days, my teachers had to deal with some really rowdy classes, it’s definitely not a job for the feint hearted. I couldn’t do it.

The class sizes at Pipers Corner are quite small but I honestly can see her struggling with students not being interested whatsoever in the material, as a teacher you have to learn to cater to different learning styles and make it interesting. I think she'll do her lessons with an air of superiority and won't know how to do this. At least it gets her out of the house but I doubt she's going to be interested in a career in teaching, she's just biding her time until she's back in academia and happy to be back at her old school imparting her "knowledge" on teenagers and getting to suck up to her old teachers.

Oh my god, it's an absolute trainwreck and she's only just started talking.

The look of utter confusion and disdain on this person's face as she's forced to endure Roobee waving her claw hand around and ramble on about snowflakes being ephemeral in her fake Emma Watson accent.

Pure despair. I love it.

This was supposed to be a joke and she's gone and done it. It's not even been a minute and she's mentioned JAN Z's cyberbollying stroggles and pulled a quote pulled from Ian McEwan. All that's left is the tea.

It's beyond cringe and I can't look away. I keep hoping someone starts playing music to signal that she needs to wrap it up and leave like they do at the Oscars when rambling speeches run too long.

Edit: Oh god, the audio for the stream glitched out when they recorded it, so now there's delayed audio of Ruby playing over the current audio of her talking and it sounds like there's duelling Rubies in the room both talking over each other and vying for the spotlight, neither of them making sense. It's utter madness. I love it.

As she goes on and on about snowflakes, I can't help watching the others who are absolutely disinterested in what she is babbling about and grabbing water, adjusting their clothes, looking all around, not paying attention to a single word. WTF with the claw arm? Can she not just sit still and speak in a mature manner? She keeps flipping her messy long hair. I can't believe she didn't even try to pull it back for a special occasion. And the slouching. She has spent so much time at her computer, crumpled over, that you can see she can't even keep her back straight for a full minute. Never mind her empty speech. People who quote others all the time have nothing worthy of their own to say. She is a train wreck!

I rate this talk 1/5 stars. It contains more snowflakes than I was expecting.

Yeah I noticed that too. I wonder how she ended up on the panel? Maybe her management had an input somehow.

I couldn't help but look away. The cringe was bad enough without seeing the claw.

Edit: Earlier I watched some of Jack Monroe's talk in Edinburgh. The combined cringe of these two events might make me combust. Those of you on the JM threads will understand!

When I read this, specifically about her posture, I had to go and look at the debate as well. This is terrible...when you're in a professional setting, you try and sit straight up, but she isn't even trying to do it at all. Not that it matters, but if she would be sitting straight up, she would appear more confident and probably better to hear as well. Maybe, it's good you can't hear her that well, though.

My thoughts after seeing the first couple of minutes of Ruby's speech:

I think inviting Ruby to this panel was an inadvertently excellent move. I'm saying inadvertently because they achieved something which they didn't plan to achieve. They wanted some insight in the life of Gen Z social media people, but in the form of a defense from the typical claims that Gen Z is spoiled and fragile (by saying: It's not true, we are not fragile, but instead blah blah blah). Instead, Ruby does the exact opposite. She starts her talk right away by saying that we are fragile, but it's a good thing.
Expecting her to dismantle the claim that we are fragile means expecting that Gen Z might be fragile, but agrees that that's a bad thing. It means expecting that there is some common ground on the issue of fragility, which is the aversity against fragility. But Ruby (being the perfect representative for a sheltered and fragile person) shows that the misunderstanding between generations is so much more profound because it's not just the level of fragility which has changed, but also the value of it. And differences in values are the thing that causes intergenererational clash.
Of course, not every Gen Z person would agree with what she's saying. But there are many who do because they live a sheltered life just like Ruby.

Presumably Ruby thought the evening went well, otherwise she might not have posted about speaking on the panel at all.
or.... she thought it didn't go well, but she assumed it wouldn't be live streamed for the world to see, and just went on to brag about being on the panel.

Is there any brave soul who can watch this and give the rest of us a run down of what she says?
I’ve had to turn it off within 30s of her talking coz I’m just dying of cringe .
