Never let anyone tell you you can't achieve anything you want, just as long as daddy can donate enough money to buy your way into it.
that is basically what Ruby has been told her whole life, I guess. and all the other children from rich families.

But if Ruby can get a job without the necessary qualification, I can too! 💪 (only without the help from my daddy's money)

I went to a private school as well so I know it’s the case, but I can’t believe you can teach In a school without any sort of qualifications or experience.
Ruby has had no teaching experience and yet just like that she has a job teaching kids whose parents are PAYING for the privilege. (Sarcasm) I just don’t understand it.

I don't know why she would be qualified to teach English, I could understand her being a teaching assistant but I can't imagine her doing well with a class of teenagers, and teenagers who have social media, I can imagine them just taking the piss out of her. I might be projecting but I know for certain that if any of my teachers were on youtube, it would have been found out and it would be the source of mockery in my school Can you even imagine Ruby being the slightest bit authoritative enough to discipline a class/ pupil when it's being disruptive?

I think that she is going to be in for a shock when the job actually starts as teaching English is a lot different than writing a few essays. I couldn't imagine just being a history teacher just because I've got a history degree, you need some work experience at least. She can barely describe a book that she has apparently read and not use the word 'cool.' She just seems so poorly qualified to be a proper teacher, especially when she is so childlike herself. I just can't imagine anyone taking her seriously and someone is bound to find the Hermione videos or her running around the garden like an escaped victorian asylum patient.

I don't know if she is hoping to be a Miss Honey figure or some other teacher from a book that she has read in her teaching style. Hope it goes well for her but I see it being a distaster.

I think we better wait and see tbh. I think it’s highly unlikely she’ll be let loose teaching. I think it’s more likely she’s “joined” the English department and might be a TA/ lead a separate group of 3-4 students etc.

As another poster said, they pay big bucks at that school and as far as I can remember she has never taught in a classroom in any capacity so it’s extremely unlikely she’ll be thrown in.

the only other thing I can think is that they’ve offered to “train” her on some private school thing I’m too poor to know about 🙄 other than that, they might be giving her some work experience.

It would be so funny if somebody came here from her class to share his/her experience 😃

Worrying enough she has no PGCE or similar but she has so little life experience that she will literally be unable to teach and guide children if they need help. Also think she is underestimating how time consuming being an actual teacher is, even if she is only doing it part time she will have to make lesson plans, mark work, make power points, go to meetings and chase up students who were off/late she wont have time for her pointless busy work and 20 books she writing

Oh god, not even a teaching assistant job, they literally gave her an part-time English teacher job with no qualifications, no experience and no understanding of basic English. Piper's Corner: Haven for Nepo Babies.

Never let anyone tell you you can't achieve anything you want, just as long as daddy can donate enough money to buy your way into it.
thats not uncommon nowadays due to the teacher shortage. I know so many graduates teaching full time with just a BA and no teaching qualification. Some work in state schools as subs, but private schools are basically allowed to hire whoever they want. Hopefully Ruby is able to handle it... I wonder what age group she’ll be teaching.

She can just fake doing both like she's been faking her producktiveness this whole time!

Imagine paying for your child to receive instruction from someone with less training than a teacher at a public school!
Also hate the "Miss" and "Mrs" distinction.

I can see her maybe sticking it out for a term at most before quietly bailing.

She abandoned her own book club because she claimed reading one book a month and talking about it once a month with strangers on a Zoom call was "too stressful" (i.e. she wasn't the smartest person in the room so she gave up instantly). I can't see her coping in a role where she's expected to command the attention of a (potentially very unruly) classroom, engage them in coherent conversation and explain concepts clearly and intelligently. She'll get crucified.

She'll post a couple of sporadic half-assed vlogs/routine videos that are indistinguishable from all her others, but include a lot of "...and THAN OIY wahnt tyoo wahhrk, whahhr oiy did lyots of wahrrk in moiy job whahrr oiy wahhrk in a traditional job as a wahrking teachah who whahrhkhs..." comments but show absolutely nothing of her working day.

She'll add 46 hours worth of condensed footage onto the rest of the "waahrhk day" to show how she JANUINELY worked a full day, wrote a book, baked some nightmare concoction, ran a marathon, attended a PONKER PODDUNTIFTY Zoom call, read 5 books, wrote an essay, tidied her room, wrote a LATTER to her BASST FRAND Blakeney, then used her Nyord V P Anne subscription to JANUINELY watch a whole series thanks to Nyord V P Anne who VARRY KOINDLY sponsored the video. Her outfit will change at least 6 times. She'll comment that she hasn't been able to vlog much or make content because she's been too busy "wHahrHRkinG".

And then she'll probably quit the job, but keep mentioning her "wahrk day" in rehashed vlogs for a few months up until the summer to act like she's done a full year. Then she'll announce that she decided not to stay with teaching because it was burning her out to do so much (despite her not doing much of anything) and "MANTLE HALTH" is important so she's decided to focus on either a Masters (in the unlikely event she gets in anywhere) or YouTube and becoming a WROYTAH full time instead.

After that, she'll treat teaching like a task she "completed" and will likely make lots of references to her time as a teacher to reinforce whatever nonsense she has to say about "HOSSTLE COLCHA" that week. But she'll be back to decomposing in her room, doing nothing and accomplishing nothing, uploading just as little content as ever, all of it woefully incompetent and criminally lazy.

The most problematic issue (of many) is that if she is teaching English, surely she should have an understanding of English, understand what words mean and how to put them together, and have actually properly read the books???

I know that when I was a teenager I wouldve been merciless if I found a video of my teacher online, locked in her parent's RV with her bestie...reading and drinking water to make it an 'immersive' experience. Seriously, that video alone shows limited maturity. She doesn't come across as someone who can guide young people in an academic environment.

why? it’s quite common
I know it's still quite common in the UK, but personally I don't like distinguishing between a married an an unmarried woman. It is outdated, in my opinion. If all the men can be Mr irrespective of their marital status, so should it be for the women. Some European languages (such as German) don't use this distinction anymore because it's seen as insensitive.

GOD, I've just realised she'll probably be teaching Wuthering Heights because we've had so many photos of it

I suggested some time ago that Ruby had employed an academic copy editor throughout her undergraduate studies and, reading that essay, I am even more convinced (though the journal may have an in-house editor that polished her work on this occasion).

The brief bio sounds like Ruby. The rest of the work (although bland and uninspired content-wise) reads well and is coherent. There is complex punctuation (en dashes, em dashes, colons, semi colons) used with consistency. I honestly don't think she is capable of pulling this off without significant help - not just proofreading but extensive copy editing so at least the reader can navigate a path through her stupid and pointless arguments. We've read her poetry and captions and they are complete nonsense - always self-contradicting or just incomprehensible.

I've made plenty of money copy editing rich kids' undergraduate papers (although in the sciences). They will probably end up in good careers, continuing to outsource any work they have no aptitude for. Even the way Ruby would have a complete draft completed a week or two in advance and then suddenly made a round of changes a couple of days before submission screams hired copy editor to me.

I think she really should have been a co-author on this. We'll never know who the real credit should go to - maybe Blakeney (hope Ruby actually paid her money and not just in unwanted tea bags).
