She calls Fitzgerald’s writing ”opulent” all the time, I feel like it’s another word she read on the back blurb of a book and doesn’t actually know the meaning of.Did she just say F.Scott Fitzgerald's (stolen from his wife) opulent writing perfectly encapsulates the 1920s...maybe for less than 1% on people at the very start on the 20s but it's hardly encapsulating of the whole 1920s it wasn't all Gatsby parties and flappers.
I realise i'm nit picking but i'm hangry and tired so please humour me
lol she’s such a fucking idiot
Ruby branching out into bookshop ASMR - is this a new ploy to get that sponsorship she's chasing? Also, I'm going to shamelessly gatekeep Daphne du Maurier. I don't think Ruby's ever read the book she's recommending because her outfit has the complete opposite vibes to Jamaica Inn apart from the fact that the cover of that edition is also black and green.
Also, re her Instagram book haul - is buying gifts for your for your teachers four years after you've left school a private school thing? I don't think mine would even remember me!
if someone made me a garlic bread bagel I'd stop being friends with themlol she’s such a fucking idiot
also it’s libraries* you’re supposed to keep quiet in, not bookshops, you absolute moron
*libraries = those buildings you go into when your parents can’t afford to buy or enable you to buy all the books you want - kind of like Victorian workhouses, except you borrow books instead of eating gruel and sewing up burlap bags
edit: paging Italy - surely this is an internationally prosecutable offense? I never saw such a grim portion of pasta in my life, and I say this as someone who was regularly given something called ”macaroni gruel” as a child. (It’s elbow macaroni, basically boiled to death in milk, and fed to children lukewarm, without any seasoning or spices whatsoever.)

How is this carbonara? I'm not trying to be a purist and be like "ackshually you can't call it carbonara unless you harvested the eggs in my nonna's backyard and you slaughtered the pig for the bacon on the Altare della Patria in Rome", I'm genuinely baffled by the word choice.lol she’s such a fucking idiot

I can, these are the same people who drive hours and hours for their adult daughter and buy her 101 presents for Christmas. I'm sure if she said 'Mummy, the recipe calls for LOTS of truffle! It wouldn't be au-then-tickk otherwise', and they ended up ordering too many to know what to do with.No way did she use actual truffle for that travesty. Probably a dash of truffle oil, just enough to stain the pasta, but I refuse to believe that Ruby or her parents bought real truffles and wasted them on that.
I actually think the garlic bagel looks more appetising than the pasta. The pasta looks sort of inky, as if it's had a close encounter with a squid.if someone made me a garlic bread bagel I'd stop being friends with them
Why is she whispering? You're allowed to talk in bookshops.

Blurbs are a great place to pick upShe calls Fitzgerald’s writing ”opulent” all the time, I feel like it’s another word she read on the back blurb of a book and doesn’t actually know the meaning of.
No joke, I actually thought those were sliced up slugs or worms at first glance.. Until I read the caption... Lordy lordy.re food: This is such BS and she knows it and yet again, it’s ED baiting. Coupled with thebodychecksootds, she makes me so irrationally pissed off with her. (I know she doesn’t do it, I could stay away, but fml, she’s got a super young audience).
I honestly think that just because she speaks inShe is extremely dumb and previously took a quote from 1984 on brainwashing as an inspiring bit about reading books so (maybe someone remembers that incident more in detail)

I have only just watched her Daunt book haul video on Instagram and I really don't understand why she is getting her old English school teacher the Sebastian Faulks book. For a start the English teacher might not remember Ruby or might have even left the school and he may not even want the book or he might already have the book. I mean the excuse on why she brought the book for her teacher is laughable "I just thought he'd like this". So basically she is suggesting that she doesn't know what books her old English teacher likes but she will get him the book anyway.
