I use Harvard and OSCOLA and Harvard is a dream compared to OSCOLA 😭😭 I think the maximum I’ve used is 15-20 in a 3500 word essay. With ruby I think a fear of plagiarism probably comes into it, I imagine she’s one of those who panic about their plagiarism score when they submit their essays.
I use OSCOLA exclusively (the pain is truly real 😭😭😩😩) but for a 3500 word essay we have been told to use at least 30 different sources in the bibliography and have about double that in the footnotes. It might seem a bit much for some, but for me it seems way stranger to use only 8-15 for a 3500 word essay. I don’t really know about Ruby’s tutors but if they are anything like mine there is no surprise for the amount of references she uses.

I’ll defend her here, that’s what I do, some books you can’t do it with but a lot you can, once you get used to it, it’s really easy, I do it so I can get through them in a week because I’m busy but a lot of people who listen to audiobooks do it
I listen to mine at like 1.2x speed, Ruby's sounded so much faster than that.

Respect where respect is due - I thought Ruby thanking people for spending Christmas alone because it could have saved lives was a nice thing, and it seemed really genuine. Her speech at the beginning though reminded me of the Queen!
I found this incredibly patronising but could see where she was coming from

My dad is french and pronounces it more or less like that, I’ve heard people say croissant very strangely but the way she said it was normal
I speak French, I know. I just don't understand why she's pronouncing that one word as French when she usually anglicizes her pronunciation of foreign words.
English isn't my native language so I've never heard anyone who doesn't speak French pronounce croissant in a non anglicized way.

Out of interest I just opened up an old undergrad essay (3rd year as I don't have any 2nd year ones to hand) - it was 2,500 words and had 19 references, although some of them were passing mentions and a couple were paintings. I'd say about 1/3 of the references were primary sources as opposed to articles and books. My final year dissertation was 12,000 words and I seem to remember having about 60ish. I don't know what word count Ruby had but if footnotes are included then 30 references would have taken up a lot of space in her essay.
It doesn’t look like her course goes by a footnote referencing system. She uses the system where you just do author and page number in the text. Then the long reference list at the end isn’t counted AFAIK.
(I used to help in this area I’m not just really interested in footnotes I promise 😂)

Can anyone say a bit more about the anorexia books - this sounds so strange but I haven't seen anything about it (I'm not a regular viewer tbh) why on earth is she reading such a thing in the first place?

Her features definitely make her look younger. She looked like a young child looking up at Jade to put the highlighter on in the xmas video

It was an old video, maybe a year or two ago? Some sort of notebook/bujo video where she said to basically keep track of your friends and what they do for you.
I remember the way she explained it was so.. clinical and detached. She legit said to make a list of it.
To me, I interpret making a list like this as something someone would do who isn't au fait for social interactions, and is definitely beyond the actions of a typical introvert. Again, suggestive of ASD.

Ruby granger probs just fucked the friendship off when she started to dissociate herself from the Hermione stuff and became a serious studytuber
I'm not too sure about that. She did post last year something HP related on that account. but this her actual account that she uses ( I hope this is fine to post) She does seem different but I'm trying to understand her following a significant amount of 'Kristen Stewart' fan accounts...
