Just looking at the soolantra and it says to use it once a day. So I think I’ll look at using my PC cleanser and FAB moisturiser and AM and then using the soolantra at night as I would a night cream. Does this seem right?x

I also have PCOS! I think we could be twins 🤣
Yes!!!!! It’s a bloody nightmare isn’t it. I’ve starting taking inafolic alpha!!! But why other suggestions you have please throw my way hahaHa!!xx

I thought I’d give a little update. There was no improvement with the second cream metronidazole. So I’ve spent a month on doxycycline and that’s done nothing either. I’m getting referred to a dermatologist and had blood tests to rule out lupus. I am so fed up of my skin looking like this 😢
Im so sorry to hear this. I know it’s a hugely frustrating thing to have to manage. Have they confirmed it’s deffo not lupus? Are you comfortable wearing foundations??

Not sure about Lupus yet. I had bloods taken yesterday and the results are back at the doctors today. But my doctor doesn't work Friday's and they don't want to ask another doctor to call me back. So I have to wait to find out until Monday  :cautious: Tbh this is the only symptom I'm having so I don't think it is likely. But it doesn't stop me worrying!

I wear foundation but I don't wear make up much. Only really for special occasions and I'm working from home at the moment.

I know I am a bit late to the party but I was diagnosed formally a couple of months ago. I use Cetaphil daily cleanser and the moisturisers. I know SPF is important so I use this religiously.
I spoke to my GP and they prescribed Azelaic Acid. Sadly no really improvement yet. I might have to ask for Soolantra next time I speak to them!

Look up Dermatica - they’re currently giving new members a free month :) they’re derms and you upload photos and they’ll give you a prescription. You upload pics every month and they will adjust prescription as necessary x
Oh my god that is something I definitely need to get on. Particularly as I was debating whether to go to a dermatologist x

Do you cleanse day and night? I would cleanse AM then moisturise, then PM cleanse, soolantra, wait at least 5 minutes for it to absorb then you can moisturise 😊

I’ve not heard of inafolic alpha until about half hour ago on the PCOS thread haha. I’m gonna have to google it! Tbf I’m so bad with my PCOS I don’t take anything for it. I have inositol so I think I’m gonna start taking that regularly now.
I used to have 1 or 2 periods a year but weirdly in the last 8 months I’ve become regular, no idea why! The longest time between a period now is 5 weeks

UPDATE!!

@PoleStar @squarebutton I started using my Soolantra on a Thursday and i am genuinely shocked by how much of a difference it has made already. It said online it takes about 14 days to see results but I have definitely already seen a VAST improvement. It is genuinely the only product I have ever used where I have seen an improvement in my symptoms. Thanks so so sooooo much for recommending this.

Out of interest how long do you use yours for? Is it safe to use long term or only as and when bad flare ups occur? I feel like my face is one long flare up hahaHa!!!

Out of interest, how do you find the cetaphil cleanser? It's recommend by many derms but is known to actually be very drying and can be irritating. Just wondered if you'd experienced this. The cerave hydrating cleanser is fab for rosacea and sensitive skin.
I had no idea it was known as drying/irritating. To be honest I was looking for a budget friendly option. My skin feels fine and not dry at all. I was sucked into The Inkey List's products and brought 8 different things - this completely dried my skin out and I regreted it within a week or two!

I got acne rosacea a month before I hit 30, that’s when it usually sets in.
tried chemical peels and burnt myself in desperation of putting loads of product on and had huge scabs on my face.
Acnecide cream cleaned it up in two weeks and it’s never returned.

I still have rosacea of course.
When I don’t want a full face of foundation I use green stuff from L’Oréal which evens it out!
