I like the dramatic hallway, the kitchen is nice and spacious, but my god if I was moving in I'd much rather have my IKEA settees than all the hideous ones they have...

I would rather not have a sofa and sit on a crate than have those monstrosities. The pouffe is vile too.

The gold chest of drawers in one of the bedrooms doesn't fit the rest of the room. Same with the grey bathroom with royal blue sinks. I feel like I get what they were aiming for but they needed a darker blue or a different colour.

It all kind of looks like an influencer has tried their hand at interior design and tried to be unique and got it slightly wrong.

Welcome to Chavsville! 😂

I am sure whoever painted that classic country house scene would not have expected their design to end up on a bloody sofa! 😁

As for those armchairs with the stirrups...one can only guess what they are used for…a quickie in the armchair! 🤣

That bathroom door looks like something out of a prison.

Dear god, these people need to take off their cav-tinted glasses! 😂🙄

You'd practically be doing the splits if you tried to get a foot in each stirrup! That's not a cheap chair either.

Is this a Newcastle players house. It's got that lots of money but zero taste vibe

I think that weird double hallway has ruined the house. That double height window is a recent addition and is not in the same style as the other windows. Its not the most attractive style of house but it looked better before https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/new...side-luxury-495m-property-adderstone-13198124

It also features my other absolute hatred: putting in a million ceiling down light things. Why the hatred of lights and lampshades? What drives someone to have 12 GU10 bulbs in a bedroom?

People who light up their house so it resembles a football stadium! 🙄

I used to live next door to someone who lit up every room in their house as soon as it turned dark. 😂 💡 The National Grid must have loved them. 😂

At least put the toilet lid back on 🤦‍♂️It's a lot of land for the money though, and with planning granted some developer will have it. All those outhouses are half way fallen down already.

Dear god, the interior of this house needs some tlc. I never understand people who put their million pound houses on the market when the interior looks like this! 😮🙄

its “old money !” People who have had money for generations don’t spend it on what they would call trivial things. I bet they have property, art, jewellery and stocks galore

Aw I like listings like this. A very well loved house from that generation that made things last and 'made did and mended'. With a house like that you'd be looking at a full gut job, so I don't blame the (assuming elderly owner) in not being able to deal with the expense or stress of bringing it up to date.

Totally agree with you - this looks like either a probate sale or a sale to fund care home fees. A lot of the value is in the permission to build 2 more houses on the site, the house with its listing is going to be a bit of a headache to sort out.
