He's such a wick saying a jury wouldn't be needed because he'll plead guilty. He got away with it for long enough now he needs to accept his fate.

I'm by no means sticking up for the Gardai here as we all know how incompetent they can be but I do believe they only had certain powers whilst she was a missing person at the time the house was searched first. Law is not my field of expertise but I don't think they could have seized his laptop or tore down the walls/ripped up the floors without concrete evidence she hadn't left the house. I know it was obvious to everyone he had a part to play but they could only do certain things. (This is just some thoughts coming from my obsession with all things true crime!)

It was only when the case was re-examined under a new detective and the cctv footage from the post office was viewed, things didn't add up. Thankfully it was looked at again or he'd still be walking around a free man.

The tv and radio interviews absolutely stink of Joe O'Reilly alright. Satchwell probably thought he'd outsmarted everyone.

ETA- the t-shirts were disgusting.

100% as much as we know what was presented at trial we do not know what happened with that 1st investigation at least justice was done for Tina.

Just watched both the Neil Prenderville and Primetime things. My god what a psychotic person.

I see the family called her by her maiden name in their victim impact statements. I hope that sickened the controlling wick.

His team said he intends an appeal as he maintains he did not intend to kill Tina. How much more can he put them through.

I cannot understand how they decided not to do a proper search initially. With a dog too!
Especially when the majority of people seem to have got a bad feeling about Richard!
I wish Tina had been found in time to determine her cause of death.
I hope the guards learn from this.


The case of Esra Uyrun has always stuck in my mind & I wonder could her husband have had something to do with it?

I agree with you. I was thinking about that too. I presume that they are limited in what they can do, depending on what powers are granted, in a particular scenario. I'm not trying to run them down either because honestly I think it's one of the toughest jobs going. It was an eye opener that they don't have cadaver dogs. Aren't those dogs absolutely marvellous!
That too would presumably have solved the case at an early stage.

He was a controlling fucker, and the stuff he instructed his defence to say including his intention to appeal, is truly evil.

Poor Tina. I was left with the impression of a lovely, gentle soul, who loved her bit of style and her pets.
May she rest in peace.

Absolutely. I don't envy their jobs and what they have to see on the daily. I know a lot of people don't have respect for them anymore and of course you will have cases where they could have done more or something different but I do feel it's like that in every job/occupation, we are all human and make mistakes and nobody or no task carried out is perfect. I think we all see it on the tv where CSI are in the door and taking fingerprints straight away in hasmat suits but in reality it's a lot different, especially in small town Ireland.

I was so surprised about the cadaver dogs too! I saw the clips of the dog arriving to the scene and thought how amazing that is.

He ran down her character entirely. She seemed like a down to earth lady who loved her fashion and makeup and lived for her little animals. Nobody deserved that ending to their life. At least the family will have a proper grave to visit now. Rip
