Richard Satchwell Murder Trial

Why can’t he just tell the truth. Everything that comes out of his mouth is lies. He has tarnished that woman’s name saying she used to beat him and he never laid a finger on her despite murdering her. Lies lies lies. I think she was packing her bags wanting to leave and he flew into a rage and murdered her. The way he did it was cold and calculated and he manipulated the whole country for years afterwards playing the victim, so why should we believe anything he has to say now. He’s not as simple as he looks. He is cold and ruthless and will say anything to twist it as he was the one being abused. He killed her and lived with her dead body buried under his stairs for 6 years. This man is capable of anything

It's dreadful.
He can say anything he likes now about that poor woman. This must be absolute torture for her family. on top of losing her the way that they did, and knowing this murderer had hidden her body all those years.

I agree, I think she wanted to leave. Poor lass.

Her family are so dignified. Their victim impact statement after the trial might be when they get to speak Tina's truth for her.
Wouldn't it make you sick? Everyone male or female has a right to leave a relationship and live their life their way but he thought he was entitled to end hers instead. I hope he dies roaring.

100% they've been so dignified considering her hasn't left the press for a minute.

He will die without anyone caring and for him that is the worst. Even how he spoke after they found her "your job is to bury me" like no Richard the job is justice for Tina ya bleep.

I wonder what family she has? It mentioned that she was reared by her grandmother who for all intends and purposes was her mother.

He is trying to blacken her name with this talk about domestic violence. Anyone who knew her said she was lovely and gentle.I also suspect that he was hoping for a GoFundMe with his lie about money being stolen. He comes across as very, very controlling.

The glass shards found on her head and torso are surely going to prove he’s lying, as he has never mentioned glass breaking

I wonder will her friends and family ever come out and say they always found him controlling?
or sensed she wasn’t happy?

does anyone know why they moved from Fermoy to Youghal?

Oh for sure. It was clear as day he was hiding a lot. But as time went on and nothing was being found I know some people who definitely bought into his gombeen act purely on the basis of why would he keep appearing in the media doing interviews if he did it.

And he insists throughout the interviews that the glass on the door had never been broken or replaced. Where did the glass shards found on Tina appear from? Poor woman got an awful death and wouldnt of had much if a life with him either, Id day she never got a minute away from him. He also said he would plead guilty and here is pleading not guilty - absolute rank individual

Lads could he get off with this? Prosecution finished today & there was no real smoking gun as such
They couldn't determine how she died - Defence seemed to imply the gardai are incompetent etc I just felt a bit like it was flat or something.

I know he has admitted it, can the judge say they can find him guilty of manslaugter?
Felt awful for her cousin on the stand today - based on her stopping texting it seems she knew Richard was using her somehow.

Poor Tina hopefully she gets justice.

I'm not expert but I think the judge can direct the jury before they convene, something like you can find the dependent guilty or not guilty of murder, if not guilty you can judge to be guilty/not guilty of manslaughter. He has to be found guilty of manslaughter surely??

I get the feeling that he looks down on Irish people. Only he knows what happened that day. Her family distanced themselves from him straight away while he was on his media circuit.

This 1/2 sister who Tina grew up believing was her cousin?
And her grand mother raised her?
So her mother lived separately with a man and had a 2nd family?

She isn’t really helping is she? She firstly said Tina could be violent but then retracted it - saying she hadn’t seen her for 15yrs before her disappearance?

This was a witness for the defence? I think he would have been better not to have had her

Yeah if anything it added just more weight to how vulnerable she was around this monster and how he took control of her and done what he done the animal.
