that’s what I thought but with no context it definitely can be taken the wrong wayI think it’s meant to be the reality of feeding but agree that hashtag is open to interpretation

It’s up on her instagram this morning. As predicted, a woe is me/I’m getting fat etc post. I actually almost feel sorry for her, she clearly has mental health issues and is struggling to cope.God help her once the baby is here! Speaking of which, her comment about being concerned about having a boy was odd. Maybe she is depressed it’s not a girl for her to dress up in pink.I just went on her blog to have a look - it hasn’t been posted yet. I read her article on soy foods - her writing is terrible. She doesn’t explain herself at all well and a lot of it reads as if it’s been copied verbatim from a text book.
I can’t quite get my head round her success. She seems to employ quite a big team for her nutrition clinic, yet she’s not a great communicator or public speaker (I think her TED talk is pretty poor and charisma-free too).
Or who don’t have husbands who have VERY well paid jobs!!!She ‘didn’t want to work out’ so of course she did work out and just so happened to film it for the gram making sure it got loads of shots showing just how good she looks and she does look great - good for her! I just feel bad for mums who gave birth around the same time as her who also don’t have the energy or want to work out and will feel bad for not looking the same as her.
I hear you. At the very least there is a lack of sensitivity. BF is bloody hard and it doesn’t work out for everyone for a variety of reasons. I wish some of the insta hunz would come out and actually speak about how and why it’s been difficult, or even come out proudly and say they’ve used formula! I’d respect that so much more personally. Nobody ever really admits to combi feeding which in reality is how the vast majority of babies are fed in the UK.Yeah sometimes I can feel like insta mums can be a bit smug about not using formula but I am also aware that that could just be in my head as I desperately wanted to breast feed and couldn’t. I think it’s more of the way they talk about ‘the bond’ it gives them as if formula feeding mothers don’t bond with their baby when they are bottle feeding. But again they could just be how I’m perceiving it and not how it is intended.
She’s very judgey. It’s almost like she does it to stand out, thinking she is “better than” and morally elite.‘I’m not being judgy’ is always a sign that you are about to be judgy. Ten minutes of TV and she doesn’t plan on doing it again? Good one Rhi,way to isolate your kids when they get to nursery and haven’t a clue who Hey Duggee or Peppa Pig is(not saying plant your kid in front of the tv all day but it’s not the fucking devil). Also noticed in her breast feeding post that she said ‘almost a third of women never even attempt it’ which sounds judgey as hell to me (I ‘never even attempted’ with my second and won’t be with my third).
Oh absolutely, I would wish everyone the best birth experience possible and I think we’ve all been there (i.e thinking we’re going to have an easy birth because we exercised or that our baby will sleep better if we do c or z) at some stage, but luckily we don’t have a platform to share our ‘wisdom’ with othersAnd here we go with the freebies - declaring a massive box from Jojo Maman Bebe. Personally gimics like this put me off buying from a brand rather than encouraging me to buy from them - anyone else feel the same?
@fluffehbunneh I totally agree, it’s really unpredictable and whilst I genuinely wouldn’t wish a difficult birth on her, I do think she seems very naive/smug.
I find this deeply disturbing. This is honestly terrifying. Just screams eating disorder. May as well introduce him to an app that counts calories early too.
definitely asked herself that one! I do love her dedication to responding to her thread though!
I think they’re quite strict on the definitions. Even if you gave one bottle of formula a week that would still count as combination feeding. Not that it matters, I just feel like she does it and then publicises it so she can brag she is still in the 1% who EBF.She's likely referring to this: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.unicef.org.uk/babyfriendly/about/breastfeeding-in-the-uk/amp/
"Exclusive breastfeeding at six months (as recommended by the World Health Organization) remained at around 1%." Taken from a UK survey from 2010. The rate of any breastfeeding at all at 6 months is 34%.
I'll admit, 1% does seem very low - maybe rates have improved since then.
I get what you mean. Lol...you mean she tries to give off the posh school girl vibe?!I think she’s said before she went to a local state school and cleaned at the posh school in her area. I bet she didn’t fit in well - she def has more of a posh girls school vibe - with the perfectionism and odd relationship to food & exercise. (Def not wanting to tar everyone from a certain type of school with the same brush but it does seem to be a bit of a trend).
I basically used to just give my kids whatever we we were eating ( - obviously excluding salt and barring a very spicy curry!) , they're all adults now but were never picky eatersNope. I have never fed any of my babies like this. In fact I found that putting so much in front of them had the opposite effect and they would be overwhelmed by so much food that they would just throw it all on the floor. I made sure they got variety by offering different things on different days through the week and that worked for us.
