Prunella Scales has died.

Aw, sad about this. I was so sad when Tim West died. He seemed to care for her so well. 93 is a good age but dementia is a b.

I used to work in elderly care and it's horribly often that the "carer" dies before the person with dementia does. The stress of it is unimaginable.

I know ,I think the stress is too much especially if they are both elderly.
R.I.P. Prunella

Heartbroken to hear of Prunella Scales passing but hopefully she is at peace now, dementia is horrific and her husband died not long back too.

I will watch an episode of Fawlty Towers in her honour later. The one where she chucks Basil out because she thinks he's cheating but he's actually trying to catch out a guest sneaking a girl into their room. Absolute gold.

My grandma died not long after my grandads diagnosis. At first he could grasp that she wasn’t coming back, but it’s now at the stage where he’s asking for her pretty much hourly.

Obviously we can’t keep putting him through the emotional distress of telling her she’s died, so we’re constantly making excuses like ‘she’s at the shop, she’s out for lunch with her book club, she’s gone to see xyz’. Some days he accepts it every time, others he’ll be extremely distressed and scream and sob for her. It’s agonising watching him go through it, and knowing there’s nothing that’ll fix it is even worse.

The long goodbye. 🙁

For any Big Brother fans, I just read that Ben Duncan from series 11 died. Fell from roof of a hotel.

Pauline Collins will forever be Shirley Valentine to me. We watched that film when my parents first split and Mum later ended up going on a holiday to Spain with a friend - we warned her repeatedly not to be Shirley
