Another “renovation” on the dingle shack

The entrance way looked better before

Everything they do just looks so tit and budget. I suppose that's their DIY project done for the year. At the rate they're going they'll have renovated the house by 2040 and the stuff they did to begin with will look so out of date they'll have to start all over again.
Ahh it cracks me up when she talks about renovating the house. They’ve lived there for FOUR years and all they’ve done is:
Paint the bedrooms upstairs
Carpet upstairs
Illegally move a wall and change the bathroom
Painted the kitchen cupboards
Painted the windows
Added some random batons of wood to the porch and hooks.
That’s literally it in 4 years!!! I’ve lived in my house three years now and done a full renovation (electrics, plumbing, heating, bathroom, kitchen, windows etc) plus decorating (which is all they’ve done). How can she actually post about renovating and think it’s impressive?? Rebecca, here are a few Instagram accounts that you may want to follow in terms of inspiration for your “renovation”;

They’re all really characterful properties, some listed (LIKE YOURS) and personally would be my inspiration if I lived in the dingle shack. Rebecca and Steve however, couldn’t be further from those accounts if they tried

The house is the thing that gives them away and proves they are skint, in 4 years they haven’t done anything of note to improve the house. Toshing a bucket of magnolia emulsion around Steve taking 6 months to put a few tiles up (poorly) and put in a new shower tray in is not even remotely in the ballpark of what that house needs. It needs a full renovation - by an experienced contractor who has experience sorting out listed period buildings. It needs new windows, the beams need sorting, the roof probably needs attention, the entire interior needs ripping out, full new electrics and heating needs to go in, plumbing would need upgrading, full new kitchen including new flooring, the layout needs rejigging and the barns need fully sorted to turn them into comfortable useable space as part of the home. You are talking about probably £100K worth of work and probably 18months - 2 years to do it.

When I saw those tiles my first thought was my primary school toilet in the 1980’s!
We moved to our house a year ago beggy, we’ve put shutters in every room, re done our driveway, landscaped our garden, knocked the back through and added bifold doors and that’s in a year!!! But yeah soh soh jealous of you and stuff sniff!!!!!!!!!

Christ all they’ve done is add a bit of wood? My mum and stepdad aren’t rich by any means but have built their bloody house quicker than it’s taken them to “renovate” two rooms

Agreed when they did have money at the old house, the building was nice but the stuff they put in it was bland and at times chavvy looking....I dunno if anyone's remembers when she had a Scandinavian wood looking bed with bright pink sheets on it
I always think that as well. I just picture the Cresco paper towel holder and smell of lemon toilet block when I see her kitchen
Look at the pretty windows here ... Dingle your house is a redneck, that internal glass door is a redneck you can easily replace it for a few hundred with a lock on it for safety
