The case in Greece with Caroline Crouch sounds so bad. Why wasn't her husband killed? If you kill one wouldn't you kill the other to stop them talking about what happened? It doesn't make sense.

How long had they been together? I ask as it is very creepy a guy in his mid 30s married a teenager and got her pregnant.
Glad I'm not the only one having a weird feeling about this .

Also very interested in this case. As nurses we document literally everything we do, get drugs double signed (especially in paediatrics!!) and have to remember / reflect / document all sorts of events. I fear that one day a police officer will turn up and ask me something like “you wrote on one label the insulin was given at 1700, yet another label said 1710. What happened in those 10minutes on that shift that wasn’t actually on your rota because you were called in to cover last minute 5 years ago?!”. Odd one as almost everything we do in a hospital environment is noticed / monitored / double checked. On a ward you aren’t alone often. Cases like Beverly Allitt have ensured there are strict protocols in place.

I’m also always shocked at the difference in UK and USA reporting / releases. In the USA you will see images of the crime scene, know exactly what brand of socks the victim was wearing and hear all the awful details. Quite bizarre.
Yup when I spent a couple of weeks in Addenbrooke's hospital in Cambridge last year the nurses all had these iphone-like devices that they used to record data and pictures *all the time*. Every time i was given pills or drips etc my wrist band barcode was scanned first. They could also use normal phones to log in and add photos of my injury to my records. You could then see every detail that had been noted or recorded on the bigger computers around the place. Very good system, they must have a ton of data on me!

I’ve just read up on Beverly Allit. I recognised the name but had forgotten the crime. Oh my goodness, that woman is the devil. The poor family with the baby twins! She killed one and severely disabled the other 😢
I grew up in this town and knew a few of the kids she’d abused, one of them was the surviving twin you mentioned. What she did was horrific.
There are quite a few interesting articles about her childhood and give some small insight into how she ended up the way she did (not excusable AT ALL, I just find crime psychology very interesting)

Looks like Callum Wheeler is going to try and use a mental health defence 😒

Trial has been set for 29th November.

Julia James' case, if there was no sexual assault, really reminds me of Peter Wrighton, who was murdered in Norfolk. Now that young man probably did have a legitimate mental health defence but his legal team didn't go down that route and I never really understood why 🤷🏻‍♀️

Slightly off topic but Alexander Palmer's e-fit is more like a photograph. One of the best likenesses I've seen.

Just followed this link and read article on the Julia James murder. That poor woman, ‘extremely violent’ attack, possibly with an iron bar. It says possibly a random attack too. A mum, wife, grandmother, friend, just out walking her dog 😢 absolute scum of the earth anyone that could do this to another human being

Not Murder but once again vile grooming etc.

I saw that story on the Mail earlier on, but no way am I going to read it. I don't even want to imagine what that poor child went through. My God, how is she ever going to be able to grow up have a normal life after what she's gone though?

He loves the press attention doesn't he? If my wife the mother of my kid had just been murdered in an horrific way, talking to the press on a daily basis wouldn't be top of my agenda. I would be grieving in private.

I did think this...all sounds very suspicious to me. He doesn't seem as devastated as he should be, also flew in by helicopter, like its a show?

I think i pasted a link and made a comment about this case. Its all very odd and if he is innocent which i dont think he is. He should really think about his interactions with the press and how this could impact his daughter in the future!

The Bradford grooming victim.. It happened over a period of 7 years between 2003 and 2010, so she would be 30/31 now. I hope she is getting has been getting the help and support she needs. Those men are scum of the earth.

I also think sonwthing about the husband in the Caroline Crouch case doesn't sit right. When I saw the first news story about it, I was reminded of that Shrien and Anni Dewani case.

I see police are still searching at this location and that excavation work hasn't even started yet according to the BBC.

I was puzzling over what evidence the documentary film crew could have uncovered - this is a body that potentially has been there for more than 50 years and the police have always refused to search the site due to lack of evidence, even though it has been widely believed that Mary's body could be there.
The Sun are reporting that the crew brought in a cadaver dog and then used radar imaging and that Fred West was known to have carried out building work there around the time of Mary's disappearance. Whatever the truth, the police have clearly taken it seriously to act as they have.

I would hope that the family finally get some answers after all this time but then what comfort would it ever give to know your relative was a victim of the Wests?

this is interesting. I too was wondering why they had decided to search all of a sudden.

Has there been proof of an actual burglary? Or of anyone else being there at the time of her death, something really isn't adding up. Why not kill all of them, why just her? Hmmmm

Reminds me of the murder of Carol Wardell.

I hope they do find something under her nails, if there is DNA it will be very useful of course

Questions need to be asked, he's in too much of a good way. Not the traumatised heartbroken husband. I have a sneaky suspicion he did this

I just can’t fathom why someone would want to hurt the mother of their child? That poor baby, it is heartbreaking.

You got me thinking about this as I couldn’t remember what happened to Shrien, then it all went quiet. I remember watching the documentary about it and I still can’t be sure he was involved. All strange.
