Could you get a playpen to take with you to keep him in when the kid is around? And make sure the kid doesn't go near it even if it's just to block off a certain area for the dog?Sorry not really puppy related anymore but I know there’s such good advice on here. we’re at a staycation with our friends and our dog (14 month old cockapoo) he’s shown aggression before in the form of resource guarding, so we know what to avoid, chews that last too long etc. he’s never shown signs of aggression without a trigger but twice now he’s snapped at our friends 3 year old. Once I think it was because she was at his crate when he was in it but the other time it was unprovoked. Obviously this will take work but I really don’t know what a short term solution would be? We still have a few days to go. Any help would be so so appreciated

They have done well with leaving him when he’s in his crate to be fair to them except that time. The other I never fully seen but my partner and friend said they were sat at the table, 3yo and dog were standing beside the table, she done nothing and he just jumped up at her. We don’t have children but both come from big families so he is around them a lot, he’s usually hyper to start with then settles down, but always in a playful way never aggressive. He’s not used to being around them for such a long period of time which might be the issue and the place is smaller than we expected which again could be part of it

He’s always been really good in his crate but he’s never settled or played in a playpen. We’ve told them they can’t go near the crate at all. Plus the kids are around all the time unless we’re out separately with him
I was thinking more when the childs in bed. My pup can be a resource guarder and his trainer said to leave a house lead on him (a lead with the handle cut off) which he can just drag around but means I can grab it if I need to

Anyone got any advice? My 15 month cavapoo has just started chewing all my things! AirPod, glasses, belt and one trainer in about 6 months. I know it doesn’t seem a lot but it’s all expensive things and never my partners! Has anyone got an advice? She has plenty of toys and chews, plenty of exercise and socialisation like day care, walks ect! Or is it just something I have to keep saying no to and hoping she grows out of it🫠

Is it for attention do you think? I swear mine knows which items are more valuable and what will get him more attention. We have a shoe cupboard which if he can get in to, he'll run off with something and probably get a reaction. If we leave shoes in the hallway, he's not interested. Maybe look at how/when she's getting hold of them and how you react? My pup luckily never really chewed any furniture or much else I did get him a lot of natural treats that a trainer recommend I think maybe they helped. So that could possibly help you? The thing he wanted to chew most were my hands 
. He did have a go at a little coffee table I have so I put it out of his way in a room he can't get into and he hasn't bothered to chew any of the other tables (it's a nest of 3).

Aww, feel your pain. Was not well on Friday. Let my guard down. Normally lounge is gated and puppy proof. Thought she'd be having her nap. Came back from resting upstairs to find yarn, chewed crochet hook, chewed drink coasters, tissues all over the lounge floor. Little girl wagging her tail, delighted with herself. What do I do, scoop her up for a cuddle and we both fell asleep on the sofa.
We have a 11 week old cocker spaniel - what treats are you recommending for training? Using chicken and some natural puppy treats from pets at home but don’t want to feed too much chicken (if I can) as although it’s high value and helping her stay focused she seemed to struggle a bit too this morning so wonder if too much protein and she’s bunged up.
Want something I can buy that is preferably already small so don’t have to chop up treats, that is super yummy and exciting….not not full of crap!

My trainer told me to get natural treats like Pizzles, rabbit ears, chicken feet, pigs ears. I got him a pen treat the other day which he liked. I always go for the bigger versions of the treats as I get worried he'll swallow the last bit whilst it's too big for him so I usually take it away at that stage but the smaller ones wouldn't last that long then. I also got him a yak chew he had it the first time and it took ages for him to get through but the second one he wasn't bothered with - you can microwave this when it gets small and it puffs it up, can't remember the exact process as you have to soak in water for so long first
Could you use her normal meals for training? I'm not much help for this as my pups too fussy and will only focus for salmon and mackerel

I would stick with high value treats, especially for recall training.
I bought these from B&M and my girl loves them. Our trainer at puppy class said she doesn't believe you can over treat your dog when training and when they're puppies as they have so much energy!
Chew wise, we have an olive branch chew and she also has a caveman bone (she's a bit bigger than a cocker). There a few "natural" dog treat shops on TikTok you could check out. Pawfix natural treats would be able to suggest the best chews for her. Also give her frozen carrots, they'll def help with her teeth!
Hi, I hope everyone's puppies are doing well.
Our big gianthorse Is almost 11months old and I'm exhausted cleaning the house after him. He has the back garden dug up and has muck everywhere, we have mats down all the way in from the back garden but they're covered in hair 
He's been shedding an awful lot the past few months. I've bought hard sweeping brushes, rubber sweeping brushes and even the vacuum cleaner doesn't get all the hair up. Can anyone recommend their vacuum cleaner we have a Meile pet hair one, but thinking of getting a new one as that's not doing the job.
*he's brushed every single night with a slicker brush and another contraption my daughter bought him. You could make 2 donald trump wigs out of what comes off him nightly.

If it's always when you are in the shower/cooking have you tried giving her long-lasting things to keep her occupied? Such as snuffle mats, frozen carrots or frozen licky mats?Can’t believe I didn’t I think of this myself

My puppy (well he is one now just) had his last puppy tooth removed at the vets today. He is a sad boy tonight although quieter so it's a nice change for me

but a Maltese x miniature poodle. My last dog was beagle x collie and before that a jack russel. I dunno I feel there's a bit of a stigma with poodle crosses at the moment
