Same here. Wakes are a massive part of the grieving process for me.

That's what I mean .. it all starts off from the crem then at the pub/ house .. patting on the back , shaking hands , * I'm sorry for your loss * .. people don't want to be first to the buffet but they are starving.. then as soon as drinks are flowing and music is playing it turns into something joyous .. some sit at the table , others are dancing, most are pissed .. and the grieving becomes easier over time

What amazing weather for it, made windsor look so beautiful. I want to visit now ! It was a gorgeous personal service for someone who had respect and reverance for service and duty and he fulfilled his until his final day

Mum wanted to watch it which meant I did too. Agree with how we do pomp and circumstance and how fantastic the choir were. Military precision and then the moving sight of mourners. Deeply sad to see a 94 year old look every day of those 94 years and then some. It felt almost intrusive to watch at times, especially seeing her sitting alone with a handbag on the next seat instead of a loved one.

Windsor Castle is a stunning place to visit, if you ever get the chance you should go. It always looks incredible on the TV too, it was such a gorgeous day. You could see the grounds in all their beauty as there weren’t hundreds of mourners. It was a very classy affair and I love that he planned every tiny bit of it. May he RIP.
