I just think it’s so weird to get in the bath with a child who you have only just taken charge of. As soon as I read that I thought they’re guilty. I’ve got 4 kids and I’ve never got in the bath with any of them. I know some people do but it’s not something I would be comfortable with and that’s my kids who came from my body! Same with pictures, there’s times when they’ve done something funny or cute in the bath that I’ve wanted a memory of and it’s always waist up only. I don’t want anyone seeing pictures of their private parts so I wouldn’t make any. There’s plenty of pictures when they’re little and running round in their undies, they’re boys and boys do that, but I wouldn’t share those on social media, there’s too many weirdos around. I have privacy settings of course but you don’t know who is looking over someone’s shoulder or has access to their device. If JMF received such pictures that was the cue for him to step in because it’s not normal. So he’s either enjoyed those pictures or not cared enough about Preston to challenge JV. Either way he is complicit.

Hadn't occurred to me, but you could well be right.Sorry I'm posting so much in here but this case is taking over my mind, it honestly has me tormented. But I've a possible theory, perhaps its tinfoil hat but I've read all the details and spent an unhealthy amount of time thinking about it all.
JV made a lot, and I mean a lot of comments to people about how he was struggling. I want to put him in the field of cows, he's dead, he's spoilt, the foster parents spoiled him, I'm struggling with dark thoughts blabla. It doesn't really couple well with someone trying to hide the abuse that theyre committing. So it made me think there must be a reason why he was saying all that so openly, he is a tactical psychopath by all accounts so I think everything he said was for a reason..
I think maybe they planned to get a baby to abuse when it was small and non verbal, but not keep. I think he was setting up the backstory for the adoption to fail, so he could discard that poor child before he became too dangerous to abuse. A year off work to fulfill his sick desires and then return to sympathy and back pats. Loads of photos as a memoryuntil he took it so far he killed him. Thoughts?
Terribly sad - we tried so hard - he was just too damaged when he came to us - he needed a specialist placement - it's breaking our hearts to part with him, but we know he needs so much more than we can offer him - darling Elijah, we'll never forget him, he will be forever in our hearts - give us a few months and we'll have another one please.

When I first read the OP I thought that’s a bit of a reach, but is it though? If JV is as conniving as it seems then it could be possible. Even if they weren’t planning on doing it again there would still be plenty “trophies”

The other thing that occurred to me was just that maybe he liked the attention and sympathy, not as far as a munchausen scenario but more that he seemed to thrive off drama and being the main character. It wasn’t “our poor darling boy having these difficulties”, it was “poor me having to deal with all this”. The excuses were being set for the effects it was having “he bruises easily, he has seizures, he was spoiled by the foster carers” and would no doubt continue as he got older “he was exposed to substances in utero, he’s got ADHD, he’s got FASD, we struggled to bond with him”. I don’t know if they had an end game in mind or just took the opportunity to be sickos. They’re denying everything so far so I suppose we’ll never know unless JMF spills his guts on the stand which seems unlikely as he would then seal his own fate.I just find it so hard to believe that a school teacher would go all these years and not carry out any acts like this towards children i mean he must have had plenty of opportunities being a teacher unless like some have said he wanted non verbal to get away with it.... the fact his partner was working away alot and he was by the sound of it the main caregiver maybe resentment grew along with his sexual desires towards presto?, I dont know can you just develop pon behaviour overnight ? I dont undertsand the bath situation why leave him in bath no water and pillow thats just weird behaviour then the photos pulling up his towel exposing genitals 30 odd pics in 40 mins like what!!! They are utterly sick and twisted and deserve to go to hell.
I can’t remember which poster said this first but I think it could potentially be escalation. The other charges that were mentioned at JVs first arrest cover possession of “extreme pornography” but they’re not being covered in this trial.
My assumption would be that he started with ‘normal’ porn which then no longer gave him sexual satisfaction so he started to seek out more hardcore stuff, then into the extreme things, then likely as part of that he may/may not have come across indecent images of children which has then sparked off what he has ended up committing (allegedly) himself. It’s about chasing that ‘high’ and why porn can be quite damaging.
I would be interested if another trial goes ahead for the other charges what else they found on his computer as I wonder if he frequented WeChat sites and things. It didn’t happen over night despite it appearing that way, he’s been building up to this behind the scenes

I read somewhere that he was actually only a teacher for two years, but progressed quickly to head of year. Not sure if that’s true, and don’t know what job he did before that. He was a secondary school teacher and maybe that age group weren’t attractive to him? (Can’t believe I wrote that

The DNA agreed facts have surprised me a little bit. I will be interested to see either what else there is or where the prosecution takes it

Yeah i am surprised was expecting them to say alot more... I think if they cover the bathroom forensics that will show where the abuse took place then it will explain the photos and bath etc...
The tartan pants though was they not clean on does that mean after washing dna from sperm etc can still show up... interesting to know why both dna was found on those pants if they was clean on 🫤I think they mean because they all live together, their sexual DNA could be argued to be found on clothing in the house (using old laundry to wipe up)
