Cos I am sure i read up that he took the video then opened and closed his phone and watched it again and I am sure that was around 5ish. So from that time to his partner getting home and going hospital its over an hour of him struggling to breathe....
Varley’s story is all over the place, it’s changed so many times. Also why was M-F barefoot too when they rushed the baby to hospital as soon as he got home from work?

Sure they said plastic was found in the bath wonder what that was aswellThey tested the bath and found that it didn’t leakthis completely ducks a significant part of his story as there should have been water still in the bath at the time the police went to the house and he’d already confirmed that he didn’t drain the tub nor did John have time.
He did say he’d been fixing it but when asked why there was no water when the police went, he said oh it’s because the bath leaks and I’ve been trying to fix it but that’s why there is no water.
They tested it themselves and it didn’t leak so there should have been water.
I also kept finding it odd he’d always remember to say he’d thrown the bath seat in the sink…that’s clearly because it was never in the bath this evening. Effectively, all of this evidence (inc drs opinions about lack of water coming up/the gas readings etc) is leading the jury to conclude that Preston was never in the bath so therefore could not have accidentally drowned…
Is it safe to assume that previous episodes of breathing difficulty are likely to have been due to sexual abuse, and as Preston had recovered in the past, Varley assumed he was going to recover from this one? Except he went into respiratory arrest and then cardiac arrest?
I hope they have some more evidence against MF as right now, it would be hard to find him guilty when he wasn’t in the property…I find it very hard to believe that in the phone calls they weren’t discussing Preston’s state/what JV had done to him but there is no proof of the phone call content sadly
Yes, I think the previous assaults had blocked his upper airways, nearly suffocating him each time, and also caused his chest infections and seizures
But poor Preston had always managed to recover up to that point

You’re not being dim. I can only assume it’s because fluid got onto his lungs as he was trying to breathe during the abuse (and just typing that makes me gyp)

Reading the part about bruising deep in Preston’s throat has broke my heart. It was obvious that’s the kind of stuff that had been going on but to hear it like that just makes it real. That poor, poor baby. I hope Varley gets absolutely tortured in prison.

I’m not an expert but I’m assuming the restriction of his airways was stopping oxygen from getting to his brain for periods of time…I think this might also be why he had his timer out but this is just me putting 2+2 so I may be wrong about that
Yeah or that the abuse was cutting off his capacity to breath and the doctors assumed chest infection etc.

Think such a small tiny baby and that huge big man, the body can go into shock due to suffocation or crushing the small body with a bigger body by trying to do whatever to it. Sorry that's a bit graphic
Yes, I think it’s likely due to being suffocated with a pen and/or semen being breathed into the lungs.
Not dim at all. It hadn’t occurred to me that the suffocation occurred in this way until someone outright said so on Twitter. Such depravity just doesn’t cross ordinary people’s minds.
