I wonder what their endgame was? Abusing a baby? The baby would eventually be able to talk and tell those around them what they were doing. I don’t get what they thought would happen. Makes me wonder if they knew he would die and they would end up in jail.

Abusers don't typically have an endgame as such. They deal with the here and now and by the time they are able to talk, the abusers have either managed to socially isolate their victim of have developed excuses for any statements. Victim blaming as a form of acting out due to behavioural difficulties, Oh they are a troubled child so what do you expect etc.
Ian W did deliberately seek out single mothers with very young children with the view of carrying out sustained abuse, though. And did succeed in doing this with a woman who was completely complicit in it. He and these men are of a similar vein in my opinion.

Yeah that’s bizarre, the video was taken earlier and Preston was wearing a babygro. Hours later he was wearing just a nappy and Varley claiming he’d just pulled him out of water. I hope Varley takes the stand, he will be ripped to shreds, I get the impression with his personality he will.
Jamie Varley is short, large, dark haired and behaves hysterically, John Fitz is tall, slim, blonde, wears glasses and is calm in nature.
Jamie is tall, dark and slim. John is tall I believe but slightly shorter. Some reports he is stocky. I think witnesses have mixed them up sometimes

but i’m sure that I read he also had internal injuries to his bowel & bladder. I don’t think they will be able to explain those away. As well as the bruise to his thigh and the one on his head consistent with grippingpoor baby
