Is this being reported live today? Can’t find any updates on MEN.

The fact JV had the door locked with the key in the door suggests something untoward was going on inside. I will lock the door if I’m bathing the kids or napping but to leave the key in suggests he didn’t want to be interrupted.

Just felt I had to clear that up

I genuinely read it as nothing other than you wanting to 'see' the defendants & how they react to what the case is now revealing openly for the court to report to the masses.

I didn't think you were being insensitive.

On the LL thread some people went quite often & reported what they were legally able to, that was helpful & interesting.

Where have you seen that he had a perforated bowel? I haven’t heard that evidence yet.

Oh God... could the objects have been the sex toys that he wanted his friend to remove. Cant bare thinking about just horrific. He must have been in so much pain what did he do shove something in his mouth to stop the screaming. Surely blood would have been everywhere if he Penetrated him is this what all the baths was for and the reason he jumped in shower and got in to change of clothes.

My understanding is that most trials are open to the public in the interest of "open justice". Therefore I think the person who wanted to attend probably could, though it might be best to contact the court first to double check.

I also do not think it is weird to want to attend a trial. I think it is natural to be curious about these things.

Woah wtf!? Could i ask where have you seen that reported, curious because I must have missed reading the reporting of that info. Thought I'd read all the court docs.

That poor little boy. It is just horrific.

This might be why the bath seat was in the sink, to clean it.

The pathologists evidence is going to be crucial, there must be evidence of sexual assault.

I think we're yet to get into this evidence in detail, I think they're saving it because it will nail them both.

I attended the sentencing of the two teenagers that murdered Brianna Ghey in Manchester and it was so interesting to see how a courtroom operates and there was many others present also observing. I was jumped at in the thread at the time for going being accused of sensationalizing the case when this wasn't the intention at all. So I totally get where the curiosity comes from to attend and I suspect there are others present at this trial just observing who are not connected to the case

The courts are open to the public for a reason, to ensure fairness and transparency in the justice system. There’s (hopefully) no covering things up and hush hushing if anybody can attend at any time to hear what is being said. Anybody thinking of attending is well within their rights to do so.

This is why I do like the American judicial system better in this aspect. The filming of the trials and being able to watch it is really interesting and I think you can gauge a lot from reactions as well by the accused.

I'm sure people will agree that this is one of the most harrowing things they have ever read. Just literally beyond comprehension1. Like a PP said, I feel for the jury on this case. Not only having to sit there and hear / see the most graphic evidence surrounding this beautiful boy. But at the end they have to decide 'Beyond all reasonable doubt' that these two are guilty. (And in the case of JV- that he intended to take Prestons life). That is an incredible level of responsibility for these normal, everyday people.I hope justice prevails for this little boy.

A few points have stood out to me amongst all the horror;

JMF said that JV had left his key in the front door, so JMF couldn't open the door, he said JV often did this - why did he do this?

There are a several resentful texts from JV to JMF - ' looking after your son' 'when are you coming home' 'your son' type of comments. Was the abuse of Preston some weird dynamic between them, with JV using the abuse to control JMF?

Do they have to be sure of this, or is it sufficient to have planned to commit an assault that has the probability to kill?

I suppose im thinking of the sentences the killers of Star Hobson and Arthur Labinjo- Hughes got. I doubt they actively planned murder, but their deliberate and intentional actions caused death.
