I keep thinking about their dog too, does anyone know what happened to him? I hope JV didn’t abuse the dog too, I can imagine him being cruel to him

Yes 100% getting this impression like texting him why are you in Salford then sending a video of him spinning in the chair that is definately retaliation and hes pissed off at the fact he is in Salford. Its coming across that way for sure!
God almighty - torturing a baby to punish his husband.

Wouldn’t surprise me to be honest with those two degenerates.
I’m SMH still about Snapchat … I don’t have it or want it as to me it’s a teenage thing.
Much easier to just take a video on your phone.
Perhaps I’m just old.

Snapchat has a hidden “my eyes only” folder where you can save pics/videos you’ve taken with SC. It’s password protected and they’re not added to your camera roll. They could have been using it so they could keep the videos without them being in their general gallery. JV especially seems idiotic enough to think that would stay hidden.
I did wonder if Snapchat was maybe used as a secret gallery of sorts since you can save direct to the app rather than your camera roll. But I forgot about the My Eyes Only option as well.

I wonder if he thought they just wouldn't check or if he thought he could delete the app if needed and they'd be none the wiser (even though a forensic phone search can see when something was uninstalled).

I couldn’t remember what JMF’s barrister had asked in cross examination so found this but I think this tells us JMF won’t be calling his own pathologist as he’s not disputing the cause of death.

JMF would actually be very stupid to take the stand I think. Much as I really want to see him cross examined as there are so many holes in his version of events.

In cross-examining Varley, Whyte said the prosecution case was that Preston's cause of death was someone deliberately blocking his breathing.

She put it to Varley that he had done something to the child to prevent him breathing while McGowan-Fazakerley was not at home.

Whyte said her client accepted this evidence.

They get carried away and obnoxious. Same with, and I hate to reference it because it’s nowhere near as appalling, shoplifters who start off with one small item and get bigger and bigger. They feel brave and cocky. These disgusting idiots couldn’t help themselves.

I wonder if they specified they wanted a boy when adopting?
I've just caught up on yesterday and then today and it seems to be that, in the world according to JV, everyone is wrong, he never said that, he can't remember, he's got a silly and dramatic personality and it's all incorrect. But never any alternative explanation.
Imagine how unlucky you’d have to be in life that everyone you’d come into contact with was a liar 🙄 🤥

See this is why it's mad to me that JMF has stayed with JV. He agrees with the pathologist that he died of sexual abuse essentially. He makes himself guilty by association.

I agreed he’d be stupid to take the stand, he’s clearly going for the angle that he didn’t know and wasn’t there for the majority of these photos/videos etc isn’t he so if he took that stand, that account would crumble straight away!
I reckon you’re right in that he didn’t need one of JV has one as he’s the one with the murder charge and part of his defence is accepting the prosecution evidence and pretending he had nothing to do with it all. Evil man

Yes any normal person would be repulsed. Unless of course you actively engaged in the exact same behaviour. As all the evidence suggests.

I think the prosecution was very deliberate in establishing their current relationship status. It seriously weakens JMF’s defence, especially given his barrister’s claim that he accepts the pathologists’ evidence on the cause of Preston’s death and therefore accepts that JV lied to him.
Because if he genuinely believed he lied about something that significant and horrific, would the relationship have continued? To me, that contradiction is more incriminating than a lot of the evidence presented against JMF.

I hope the jury are seeing/hearing more than we are, as from the MEN reporting I feel like this could go either way at the moment. But this is probably one of the first times I’ve followed a trial this closely so maybe I’m misreading. I have been on a jury though and I can’t help think some of them may struggle to make a beyond reasonable doubt decision on all charge.

I think it also puts JMF in a predicament! Because to be innocent, he would have ended the relationship, and therefore JV must be lying. And you really would have to take the stand to dispute JV’s version they are still together.

Maybe this will be enough to force him to take the stand? He HAS to deny this for the jury to have any chance of believing him. Wonder if there is any actual evidence prosecution could pull pit if he does - like Letby and her folder of socialising

I saw this in yesterdays BBC article that I don’t remember seeing in the live reporting (may have missed it)

Odd thing to say again, like the ‘I would have thousands of photos if I was’ comment.

I think it’s really clear cut! I’m confident they’ll be found guilty and quite quickly.

JV really does think he’s the smartest person in the room. In the school he worked in, I’m sure he wasn’t but he’ll have been the most manipulative I’m sure. The Peter principal really comes into play here. JV is about to discover he’s not as smart as he thinks he is, this barrister is in a whole other league and I really hope he continues to serve JV.

There may be some info the barristers aren’t bringing up because JV is deliberately using so many lies to try and derail information to the jury and overwhelm them with things that detract from the focus the prosecutor wants them to have.

Anyone over 18 with Snapchat is regarded as weird by the younger generation, they see it as a clear red flag that it’s being used for nefarious purposes.

To be fair, we only have JV’s assertion that they’re still together, right? Haven’t they both been in prison awaiting trial for the past year?

I could be wrong but I’d assumed that they weren’t bailed.

Yes, they have both been on remand since June 2025.

I took it as JMF only found out about the video of Preston having a ‘seizure’ on the day he died, when he was arrested in 2025 & then they were remanded. So they would have been together until then? But as others have pointed out, he was around for the other scenarios and was sent photos, changed nappies, saw bruises etc so stayed with JV through that and until they were remanded, at least

It’s unusual every other crime I have followed there has always been someone protesting the accused is innocent, whether here or on Facebook, I haven’t seen anyone convinced these monsters are innocent ( maybe unsure if enough evidence against JMF).
if they are not still together I would expect JMF barrister to bring it up soon,

I just don't understand how there are videos of the aftermath of the assaults but no videos of the actual assaults
Me too - feels like the lack of “smoking gun” risks creating doubt. Though the description of spinning him and filming him was weird and malicious as was JV’s seeming inability to tell it was inappropriate.
