I don’t think this can be true. If she was clean throughout her pregnancy and since birth why did authorities go ahead with an adoption? I’m assuming he was placed in to foster care for the first 9 months of his life in the hope that he could be returned to his birth mother if all was going well with her. For whatever reason she was obviously not in a position to have him returned to her.

Not necessarily. Babies can be removed at birth for reasons other than drug/alcohol abuse. One phrase that’s used (IIRC) is risk of emotional harm. Also if a woman is considered generally incapable of adequately caring for a child for any reason (poor mental health, learning disabilities or similar) that can also be a reason for removal.

If Preston’s birth mother is the woman we think it is, being a notorious teen murderer who has not managed to stay out of prison for long without breaching bail conditions is a pretty solid reason to remove a baby at birth.

He will be maintaining his innocent to his defence team, they would have to retire from the case if he had told them he was guilty but wanted to run a trial.
They could not act for him.

I think Preston's gran has custody of Sarah's older children. In early statements after Preston's death it was said that his grandma wanted to adopt him but she was ill with cancer Sadly Preston's mum and also his dad seem to have been and still both be in a bad way mentally and with drugs/ alcohol

This hurts my heart so badly as that poor innocent darling little child was just never given a chance in life. The only shining light there ever was was the foster carer. It makes me so sad knowing how much I love and treasure my little boy, to think how Preston had that taken away he never deserved any of this

If this person is actually Preston’s mum, she violently murdered a pensioner so I have zero sympathy for her. She’s as bad as JV and JFM. So much murder and darkness in one family if that’s her

The key thing about the pathologist’s opinion of the throat bruising is that she will have seen endless examples of what throat damage during intubation looks like. No one could argue that she doesn’t know the difference between “typical” and “atypical”.

Or I suppose potentially it could be someone living with the parent who cannot be around children etc?

Yes, exactly. So many cases of women having their children taken into care because they won’t leave a DV relationship, or a sex offender.

This question to me is to make it clear to the jury that they don’t have to be sure of the exact method used, just that what was used, deprived him of oxygen, resulting in his death - this is ensuring a fair trial whilst also firming up cause of death imo

I keep coming back to this. He had just had a clean bill of health prior to being placed with them. Where was the professional curiosity as to why he was suddenly SO unwell?! Every time my kids are ever at hospital, doctors, anything medical they always ask if you have a social worker. So a social worker would have been informed of his attendances and also that safeguarding had been triggered. So wtf did they do with that information? From the reports of their records it just seems like the only thing people cared about was the adoption going ahead. All the signs were there, they were even mentioned by one SW and just glossed over because they wanted to be part of a success story imo.

My children were on the at risk register and social services were involved due to domestic violence from my older daughter who had mental health issues. One instance, my daughter had a bruise on her forehead from head butting her gym bar as she pulled herself up. The school phoned me, asked me to confirm how she got the bruise and whether our stories matched up. My daughter said she didnt know how she got it. Later that afternoon the social worker phoned to clarify how she got the bruise and was satisfied with our answer. My daughter had a fall and bumped her head in school. No mark on her head at the time. The next day a bruise appeared. I had the school phoning to confirm how she got the bruise!! I said whilst in your care! They checked with her teacher and my daughter and it didnt go further. But honestly, I was getting multiple calls everytime my daughters had a cut or bruise. Why wasnt this the case with Preston? Why did he have multiple incidents and they were not investigated? This poor boy was let down in the worst way possible.

Am I right in thinking he died from asphyxiation caused by oral sex? It would explain the bruising to his throat, and the finger bruises to his head, back of head and behind his ears. I cant believe I just wrote that. Its just too awful to comprehend someone would do that to a baby. They are absolute monsters.
