Did you guys need a full bladder for the 20 week scan? I haven't had any communication, in leaflets I've got it says I might need to have a full bladder. I just rang the midwife and she was like 'er I don't think so' which didn't sound very confident.
You don't for the 20 week scan 😊 just the 12 and earlier ones

Does anyone have any recommendations for travel systems? It’s been a while since my last baby and wow the market has grown.
What’s considered a good brand and what’s not? Obviously I don’t want to pay stupid money but would like something fairly decent In quality/reliability terms.

I guess it depends what price range you have.
I have had a mamas and papas travel system since my son, who's 7. Planning on getting a new one with this one but prices have increased massively.
I have found some good deals on some Joie ones so might look at one of them!

I had a Mamas and Papas Sola which I used for my first 2. Managed to get the Sola2 from Argos in the summer for like £320 for pram and carrycot, it was on clearance. No way could I justify paying the prices of some of the ones out there.

Price range probably anything up to £7-800, but if I can find one I love for half that I’d also be happy. Not really a strict budget as such. That said my dream system would be an Egg pram but at £1300 not a chance lol.
Will have a look at Joie ones as the car seats I’ve seen look lovely.

We are looking at the Oyster 3, depending on what package you take I think the most expensive one is £850 x

My sister has a joie travel system and it’s great, although she doesn’t like the sun hood on it. Their car seats are fabulous so it’s definitely a bonus

I’ve had a mamas and papas sola in the past as well and can’t fault it. My parents now use it for my nephew at their house and love it. I think you can get adapters for it for other brands of car seat eg maxi cosi.

The other one I know of which always gets excellent reviews from anyone I know who has it is the Uppababy.

Sola is the one I have had for years! Loved it

There’s some good deals on the bugaboo cameleon as they are discontinuing it soon. You need the car seat seperate but it fits the Joie or Cybex Which best buys with adapters for about £30.

We went to John Lewis and picked which we liked ready for the Black Friday sales. Turned out a friend was selling that exact model 2nd hand. Got it for £100, cleaned it up really thoroughly (t-cut, back 2 black) got some new fabrics and foams and it’s perfect. Not for everyone but we don’t really leave the house without getting in the car and with Covid and a baby carrier, I just don’t know how much use we’ll get from it before we change to a more compact, sporty stroller.

Anyone got any tips on getting through the first trimester without too much anxiety?

I'm at 28 weeks and still full of anxiety.
Just know it's completely normal! That's the main thing to remember ❤

I don’t know if that’s possible 😖 (bloody wish it was!) but definitely try and avoid googling every single symptom/worry and stick to the NHS website if you need advice!

I think it’s because you literally have no idea what’s going on in there and unless we could have weekly scans there will always be worry and anxiety unfortunately.

Yeah I just said to my friend it’s just awful not knowing what’s happening in there! That’s what makes it hard.

just a waiting game I guess then. Glad I’ve got the 7 week scan to see how things are going.

Well so much for my maternal instincts and all of the old wives tales that said otherwise (bad morning sickness, sweet cravings, Chinese gender predictor etc.)... It's a boy! I had convinced myself it was a girl and had to ask the sonographer again what made her think it was a boy, she was like 'his willy'. 😂

Now I'm freaking out over names, I had the girl name picked out, boy names are so hard!!
