Hi ladies, I’m new to Tattle but loving it so far. Didn’t realise there was pregnancy section so thought I’d join in.
I’m 21 weeks today and utter miserable. I had bad sickness from 5 - 15 weeks. Had two weeks from 15-17 weeks of pure respite, felt great and then since 17-18 I’ve felt like utter tit, worst pain in my ribs at my right side on my back and my front. Mood has dipped and just feel sad all the time.
I swear I will be doing this once and once only! 🤣 kudos to those of you on your second + !
We must have the same DD! I know how you feel about pain. My hips are so bad and if I try to walk after sitting I limp around for ages as can't put my foot to the ground 🙃
I also am so clumsy and fell over yesterday lol. Only in my front room. I hope things ease for you soon 🤞🏼 people don't tend to say how hard pregnancy can actually be.

I complained to my partner about being in pain and he literally went "Well, that's what happens when you're pregnant. I can't help that"
😑 Yes. But let me complain 😂

Has anyone had pre eclampsia on a previous pregnancy? Worried about the lack of care I’m getting this time round even though I’m classed as high risk. Went in for reduced movements today everything okay thankfully, was asked to do a wee sample but the midwife who listened to baby then said she didn’t need it was just listening today. I’m 24weeks not had any blood pressure, wee or blood tests since 6 weeks now. I was 26weeks when diagnosed the first time round so feeling anxious, I do my blood pressure at home and it’s getting higher and higher each week. Not slating the nhs I think they are amazing but I’m just feel uncared for but don’t know what the norm is.

I didn't have pre-eclampsia last pregnancy but I do have high BP this time round. They checked it at my midwife 2 weeks ago, so 19 weeks, then my scan last week. I feel that is strange they haven't checked you as i thought it was routine at appointments.

eta glad all was OK today

I haven’t seen or spoken to a midwife other than my 2 scans and today since my 6 week check up. I’ve got a consultant appointment at 32 weeks so hopefully will see a midwife then. Thank you

I haven't had pre eclampsia but I am also in the same position as you, worried about it completely and haven't had urine or blood pressure checked at all and I'm 28 weeks. I presume they'll do it at my midwife appointment next week!

I bought some urine strips off of amazon to test at home as I was so worried!
So I check every 4 or 5 weeks

What a douche 🙄🤣 make sure he gives you a back rub tonight for that remark lol.
He also complained because I was laying up against his back when sleeping and asked me to move because the baby was kicking and it was keeping him awake 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

I can't believe you ladies haven't had any midwifes etc. Obviously I understand every where is different but that has really shocked me.

Thats crazy! No wonder it's making you worry. Hope you're ok and get some answers soon 🤞🏼

Next Wednesday I’ve got my first phone call consultation with GP. Can anyone let me know how the start of pregnancy works in COVID times? Did you get referred straight to midwife after phone call or did you still go into GP for urine test?

My OH keeps saying to me “it’s the most natural thing in the world so it can’t be that bad, and this is your 4th time so you should be used to it by now” cheers mate 👍🏻🤦🏻‍♀️

They literally made a note of my dates and referred me to the midwife. Didn’t bother with urine test as he said the home ones are just as reliable, if not more so than, theirs.

I still can’t believe how differently everywhere is dealing with Covid and appointments.
I’ve had my 8 week (bloods, BP and urine) and 16 week (urine and BP) appointments face to face, and I’m booked into see midwife in two weeks for 25 week appointments.

I rang gp but was given a phone number for the midwife, and then a few days later had my booking in appt over the phone. This was back in May tho. Didn’t have a face to face appt until 16 weeks and I had to push for that to not be a phone appt .

Bloods were taken at 12 week scan, and urine and bp checked then too.

So i’v got my 12 week scan tomorrow but Iv had stomach pain all day and felt sick. I had this early on but the last few weeks Iv been ok, now I’m worried something it wrong. Unless it’s me being anxious? Has anyone else had cramping and stomach ache around 12 weeks? I thought it was supposed to subside.

I had to register online for the Midwife, I then got a phone call a few weeks later from her arranging a phone call appointment. All my appointments have been on the phone until my 28 week midwife appointment which is my first in person.
I was sent to a centre to have my bloods done

Thanks for answering. So not a lot of in person appointments. Bit disappointing isn’t it. I’m going to ask a stupid question - are midwife appointments separate to scans? I had it in my head it was all the same thing but I guess I’m mistaken. How do you know where and when to book your 12 week scan? Does someone at some point explain all this to you?

I notified my GP I was pregnant, they called me the next day to discuss dates and then did the referral to the midwife for me. The midwife emailed me 10 days later with the date for my booking appointment where they basically ask you anything and everything :ROFLMAO: then had to go in a few days later for bloods and urine. The said they would call me if there was anything concerncing with bloods but if not they would discuss them at my next appointment which is the 16 week one. They said that appointment will hopefully be face to face but due to COVID could change to a phonecall.

Good luck!

Yes generally the midwife appointments will be for things like blood, measurements etc with your local midwifery team and scans are done at your local hospital/birth centre :) It probably works differently in different areas but after my booking appointment the midwife sent a request to the hospital for the 12 week scan and I got a letter in the post a week later with the date

When you get your notes there will be a schedule of what appointments you’ll get. I have to ring my GP surgery and make my appointments with the midwife there.

The hospital sends me scan and consultant appointments in the post.

Not sure how much better this will make you feel but I’m 21 weeks and I still get cramps and stomach aches at times. Sometimes a few times a day and baby was fine at my 12 week and 20 week scan.

Cramping happens all throughout pregnancy unfortunately because of everything growing.
I'm 28 weeks and ridiculous cramps today at the bottom of my stomach.
