I’m 19 weeks tomorrow and feeling soo much movement . God I missed this feeling . They’re very strong movements too but every time my husband or one of my children put their hand there , baby stops 🤣 hoping someone other than me will be able to feel them soon !

also we’ve definitely decided not to find out the gender . With having one of each we’ve got lots of baby clothes in stock for either gender , and so won’t affect our shopping . I’m excited for the surprise

I’m getting annoyed with my husband and baby names. We had a boy first and deciding his name was the most frustrating thing ever. Husband and I were so far apart and he hated all my choices. In the end, my husband ended up finding a name which I liked and we used but it was definitely my husband’s choice. We are now having a girl and it’s the same thing again. We are closer in terms of girl’s names but the one I love he is saying no to and pushing his choice on me (which is nice but not what I would choose without him). I wish I could just choose without him!

12w4d now - sick of feeling uncomfortable already LOL :ROFLMAO: showing so much sooner than with my first, and will be announcing on Sunday which will be nice.
I also had my 12 week scan and I'm certain we're having another girl which is just my dream!
Obvs would be happy with a boy too but i always imagined my future life with two girls

Finally had my first scan on Friday at 13 weeks and the relief was insane! Baby was being camera shy and facing away so the sonographer was a bit annoyed at herself that she couldn't get any decent photos for us but I said that the reassurance that there really is a baby alive and kicking in there was more than enough 🥰

What are everyone's thoughts on holidaying whilst pregnant? We normally go away at the beginning of September but I'll be just over 6 months by then so I'm not so sure how I'll feel about it at that point so I'm scared to book anything 😬
I went away about 20 weeks and it was great, no issues. I learned that it’s the cheap all inclusive beer that gives me a dodgy stomach on holidays as obviously I didn’t drink any alcohol and felt great all week, haha! I was so hungry when I was pregnant though. Pre-pregnancy I would never eat lunch on holiday. Big breakfast, then my dinner. Maybe a trip to the snack bar early afternoon. Not so when pregnant! Breakfast, lunch religiously, massive bag of Lays that I dipped into around the pool, then my dinner 😆

That makes me sad that they made you feel silly for preferring a scheduled c section. It is YOUR birth!
I denied a few inductions and waited until bang on 42 weeks and have no regrets, just hold firm girl!
If anyone needs positive induction stories I’m happy to share. I definitely read too many negative ones beforehand which was dumb.
Would love a positive induction story because all I’ve heard from everyone (including a pal who’s a paediatrician) is that inductions either take days and are agony and super slow or lead to emergency C sections

This is my third pregnancy and I've never experienced insomnia like this before. I've barely slept since week 12. If I start to drift off my feet start swelling and aching/hurting. I didnt get a minute last night 😥 I've taken the rest of the week off work to try and rest in the day as I've only a few weeks left now. Be nice to have one nights sleep before he arrives!

I am thinking about giving acupuncture a go - I'll let you know if it helps. I feel exactly the same, I feel like my little ones hate me because I cant do much with them and theyre all for fun dad 😫

Is anyone else sleeping terribly ?

i didn’t have insomnia until my third trimester with my other two pregnancies but im 16 weeks and as you can see by the time of posting , im struggling

I’m up twice in the night to have a wee . Can’t get comfortable , tossing and turning . And when I do finally sleep , I have such vivid dreams it doesn’t feel like I’ve been to sleep at all . Just woken up from one where I was out to dinner at a restaurant that had a huge menu and I was being pressured by the waiter to order but I hadn’t read the whole thing and didn’t know 😅

I feel like first trimester tired again in the day , slugging though , mum guilt through the roof as I’m like a zombie with my kids . 😭

Coming up on 11 weeks and I feel like I’m on an emotional rollercoaster. My skin has been so bad, I feel nauseous all the time, my moods are quite frankly the worst. I had very smooth sailing previous pregnancies and felt great/had the glow but this is so different. This baby was planned and very much wanted (our third, my husband and I were extremely lucky to be successful on our first proper time trying) but now I’m having terrible feelings of doubt and guilt. I’ve got my booking appointment on Tuesday, and I’m hoping once I’ve had the first scan I’ll be able to get a grip as it’ll feel real then. I’ve just been so tearful this week and then I feel guilty for feeling like that. 😣

29 weeks now, if I lay on my back for a few minutes or in the bath (don’t ever sleep on my back) I feel like I can’t breathe- is this normal?
Yes it’s normal! I think the weight of the bump compresses an artery or something which can make you short of breath. I’m currently laying awkwardly on my side the sofa because I thought I was being suffocated

I’m tentatively back here as I’m 6 weeks today, after a chemical in October. My first pregnancies so I’m still totally clueless, I have been testing frantically and stopped myself now as the anxiety isn’t doing me any favours!

My NHS trust use Badger notes, and with my first pregnancy in October I only got notification of my first appointment a couple of days before (obviously I then didn’t need it and had to have an awkward conversation to cancel!) I’m a total newbie and don’t even know when I should be having it and if I just need to wait to hear from them.

I’m full of questions about pregnancy, maternity, age (I’m 36 so ancient in baby world 🙄) so been scouring old threads trying to cram some knowledge in, all while desperately trying not to get ahead of myself. I can’t even have a conversation with OH without the caveat “if all goes well” 🥴

Don’t mind me, I’ll be here trying to learn from everyone what on earth I’m doing 😂
I could have written this minus the chemical, can’t imagine the anxiety you currently have.
I am of the same age and was totally clueless of the process.
I also use badger notes and my appointments seem
To show up pretty early. As soon as o found out I phoned the midwife department at my GP and explained to them that I didn’t know the process.
they were so nice and spoke me through everything and got me booked in for my booking appointment which triggered everything else.
I feel it’s expected at our age we should know the process of pregnancy but I can’t lie and say I feel ignorant to it all as never experienced it

6+3 and don't have any symptoms just lots of positive tests 🤦🏼‍♀️
I didn’t really have any symptoms either - just really sore boobs and some minimal nausea for a couple of weeks between 8-10 weeks. Never had heartburn or anything later either. Would have been textbook had my blood pressure not shot up literally at 39 weeks!

I totally sympathise and am in a similar position. 34 weeks and have a 17 month old. I have never been so tried in my life and have no down time. I booked some days off work when my son is in nursery so I can rest but like you I have had concerns with my pregnancy and have had to go to extra appointments, some of which have been/ will be on my days off.
It’s so annoying! My son is in nursery on the morning of one of my non-working days and at the start I was like this is amazing I get half a day to myself and to get sorted for Baby Girl but then physio appointments for PGP, perinatal mental health/talking therapies phone appointments, midwife appointments, or hospital appointments have all filled that time. It’s knackering.

Sending you love and hugs and one coffee a day to get you through ❤❤❤❤

I will echo what other people have said and say that eating even if you don't feel like it or feel sick was the only way for me to stop feeling like I was going to be sick 24/7! I was sick quite a bit especially the very early weeks until I read that eating was the best thing and when I finally braved it I was finally able to get out of bed in the morning without being sick instantly. I even worried (and posted on here) about not feeling sick enough around weeks 8/9 as I had been so used to feeling and being sick a lot (and with my 1st child it was a constant feeling but I never knew about eating to stop the sickness with him). Looking back it's crazy because I was carrying twins and didn't know at that point, if I had known I definitely would have worried more about the lack of sickness but I put that down to how much eating actually did help for me!

Any one else working while pregnant and struggling with the tiredness?? I am constantly fighting to stay awake at my desk, have to have a fan on me 24/7 to try and help & my concentration is near to 0 lol. Luckily I reduced my hours from 37 to 30 not long before I fell pregnant I don’t think I’d manage the 37 now! I just feel like I’ve had zero sleep all the time, I’m 13 weeks tomorrow so hoping it will ease off soon. Any tips to help?
I’m sooooo tired . I don’t remember being this tired in previous pregnancies . I work 37 hours a week and it’s an absolute struggle . I’ve been up since 6 with my kids , just about to drop them to school and nursery and then I have a meeting at 9.30 , a 2 hour training from 10 , then a meeting at 12.15 and another at 1.30 which ends at 3 … and then I have to do the school run again 😩

I don’t know how I’m going to cope today lol . Not everyday is this crazy . But even though I slept fine last night I’ve woken up feeling like a zombie . So no tips here I’m afraid … just another moan

7 weeks pregnant, an emotional mess, feel like shit in the morning, can barely stay awake and other than crying all the time I keep arguing with my OH because I feel he is going out of his way to be a big baby about everything and I swear he's going out of his way to be difficult. I've spent all day in bed, don't feel Christmassy and have a good mind of just spending Christmas alone with my family to get a message across because I feel so done and defeated. Sorry for the rant, I've been stewing in bed all day and feel rotten.

Just found out I’m pregnant with baby number 4! With my last two pregnancies I didn’t work as was a stay at home mom from my first baby. When are we telling our employers? Do we leave it as long as possible or tell them early on?
Congratulations! I told my boss at about 12 weeks as I wanted time off for my scan without having to work the time back. I’ve not really told anyone else at work yet except one girl in my team who is also expecting so we have been sharing sympathy lol.

I’m thinking after my 20 weeks scan (which will actually be 18 weeks) as I’m so paranoid about something going wrong and I think I’ll feel better by then if all goes to plan. I’ll tell HR then.

My only reservation is that I’m currently trying to get my role reassessed to a higher band and I don’t want them to stop looking at it as I’ll be going on maternity. As that higher wage would be mighty nice for maternity pay.

Oh no! I hope not my husband is worse then me for being a coffee addict imagine I couldn’t have the smell in the house. I might use that to wind him up 😜

Does anyone know much about exercise in pregnancy? I live in a very small place so I’m reluctant to tell the gym instructor yet. I looked at NHS but it’s more about “you should go for a walk and not exert yourself too much”. Whereas usually I’m gym classing 4 days a week and sports club 2 nights a week. So reducing that will be a bit of a shock.

I still have a bit of pain in my side so I’m skipping everything this week and (ironically) just going to go for a walk this evening.
Re: exercise, if you are used to being active and working out then you can continue. I think the advice is not to start something new when pregnant and if your body is not used to it. As you get bigger you will have to modify any core exercises - Chat GPT and google are helpful. Obviously listen to your body too.
