Baby is in 38th percentile at 28 weeks and already head down, and quite low down too according to sonographer! She made a comment and asked me “was I a very small baby myself” and now I’m paranoid something is wrong ugh. She asked me am I feeling a lot of pressure down below due to where he is and honestly I’m not. If anything I feel a bit of relief lately since he’s turned head down and my bump doesn’t feel as big either. Why must we wreck our brains with every word that comes from their mouths looking for ulterior meaning and catastrophize!
Im sorry this is rubbish they’ve made you feel this way. Our baby jumped from 30th to 70th from 28 weeks to 38 and then was actually born on the 50th so I do feel all the scans and measurements should be taken with a pinch of salt anyway.

Baby A was head down too at our last growth scan only a week ago and had 28 week appt on Wednesday, they’ve already flipped to breech so I wouldn’t worry - I don’t think anyone making comments like your sonographer did is very helpful! Just makes you worry!

Just got home from triage for a change in movements as they seemed less often and less intense if that makes sense? Anyway, the second they started monitoring they started moving like crazy and it took 2 midwifes to be able to keep the things on as they kept moving away from them🤦‍♀️🙄 so glad everything is okay and I've been reassured but it feels so embarrassing lol

You’re not the first and you won’t be the last! These kids test us.

This is me, all the time! Every single time I’ve been in baby has done exactly this, last time we were on the CTG for over an hour because baby kept moving and they kept losing the heartbeat and picking up mine, so the machine kept alarming that baby’s heart rate was too low 😂🤦‍♀️ last time we went in I honestly hadn’t felt baby properly for over 12 hours and the minute they put the monitoring thing on baby was kicking and flipping all over the place 😂 always feel embarrassed and like I’m being overly cautious but they do always encourage you to call, rather go in and check and be fine than something be wrong is what the midwives always tell me…

Yeah, always better to get checked out but I still feel guilty I've wasted their time even though if I stayed at home I guarantee I would have still been panicking about the movements😂 I last went to triage 4 weeks ago for my urine, not even anything to do with movements but they put me on the monitor and I had to have 3x 1 hour sessions on it because twin 1 kept moving off it even with a midwife holding it down for an hour🫠 even after the 3 hours twin 1 never met criteria!! These babies love to keep us on our toes!

They like to make us worry! When I last went in it was like 2 in the morning and I didn’t get home until 5 (then up for work at 6!) because baby kept moving and didn’t meet criteria for over an hour 😅 in the end a midwife had to come and just hold the transducer thing on me so she could chase baby! They were short staffed and busy that night too so they left me on the monitor whilst they saw other people and I kept having to buzz because we kept losing baby’s heartbeat - so embarrassing!

Starting to feel like this will be me in and out for monitoring. I'm barely feeling any movement with these anterior placentas aside from them pulsating 🤢 really stressing me out. I know I'm only 19 weeks, but I felt them really early before the placentas starting to grow like huge jellyfish 🤣 the NHS never told me at a scan at 16 weeks, it was the private one I had at 17 weeks. Anyway week on Thursday I've got my 20 week scan so hopefully they're both still okay in there.

Ive been in and out loads, until just about 28 weeks movement was so sporadic and baby had no routine at all. I’m not saying I won’t be in and out loads for the last 10 weeks I’ve got left because I’m quite sure I will at some point. I was 28 weeks just over a week ago and it’s like since then baby has suddenly had more of a routine - always active between 5-6am at least. The rest of the day is still a bit unpredictable! Better to be in and out all the time and know all is okay than try not to go in so you’re not “that person” and something is wrong! I got told off last time I went in because I didn’t want to trigger an extra growth scan and then have to arrange it around work so left it ages. I’m finding not stressing about work being affected really hard!

Meh, I properly pushed myself insanely hard at work through my entire pregnancy, and ramped that up at the end despite Covid and low amniotic fluid. When I sent an email to a couple of staff to say I’d had the baby, sent pictures, gave a little info about why it had taken me a while to confirm etc, it took a week for one person to get back to me and the other hasn’t at all. Obviously I’m extremely hormonal and emotional right now but I was a bit like ‘I wish I hadn’t bothered putting myself under so much pressure when nobody can even be bothered to say ‘cute baby’’. I can still see my work emails and they haven’t even sent a communication round my workplace to say anything. Cheers 👍🏻. So, yeah, duck your workplaces in all honesty and focus on the health of your babies. Nobody else is going to give as much of a crap as you are about yourself anyway.

Motherhood has completely rewired my brain around work. Especially since I’ve returned to work. My kid was in hospital for a week with a really nasty virus (fluid refusal, very high temp and lethargy) and not one person on my team thought to check in with me or even asked if they could help with my work after I rang up explained why I wouldn’t be in. I work because I have to for financial reasons now but I just see it as a means to a pay cheque to support my family. And when the next baby arrives I’m dropping more hours which I’m actually v pleased about it lol. When the kids are older maybe I’ll find more fulfilment in work again but rn duck them lol.

Has anyone had a planned c-section before? I googled how long before do you usually get your date and it said 1-2 weeks before but just wondering what other peoples actual experience was?

It’s beyond frustrating that you give so much of yourself to work and they just don’t give a crap. You work hard and then they just make you redundant just before your two year mark so you get zero pay and your whole life crumples 👌🏻

Unsure if you mean when you’re booked or the date you’re booked for haha but:-
I got given my date before 20 weeks, but even my midwife couldn’t work out why I’d got it so early 😅 usually it’s not until 34+ weeks in my trust that you get given it. And my trust only book you in for the 39th week unless there’s any high risk issues.

Thank you!! I got put on the waiting list thing at 32 weeks and they told me my c-section date will be between 36 and 37 weeks, closer to 37. I'm now 34+1 and have my last midwife appointment on Friday so ideally I want to know the actual date before I go but I'm not too hopeful😅

People keep telling me duck work but I can’t 😂 Im pushing myself really hard at work because I want a job to go back to in September - I’m a teacher so it didn’t make sense me having a full year off when 9 months takes me to September, but my current job is only for a year until September. If they do extend the contract great but I’m trying to stand out so that the person they hire to cover my maternity doesn’t oust me from my job or anything! I feel like my partner feels he’s under loads of pressure financially when I’m off work but he’s still trying to find a job so I need to have something lined up for September so at least I’ll know I’ll be back working. He had a good redundancy payout but he’s now not been working since end of July and neither of us anticipated it would take this long!

Just can’t imagine anything worse than going for interviews for jobs this summer for a September start whilst I’m looking after baby - so I really want this one to work out so I can go back in September. I’m trying to arrange all my appointments around work, staying at work until gone 6 and spending most of Sunday working to try and ensure I get my job back. But it’s a new school and everything is completely chaotic so I’m already really behind. Can’t be good for me or for baby but I’m not sure what else I can do!

It’s easier said than done, for sure! If I did this all over again would I actually do anything different? Probably not. Maybe take steps to dismiss a problematic member of staff that I didn’t do because I was pregnant and I knew I couldn’t take on their workload as well as all the workload I was doing. It’s still something I massively regret, though. So, what I’m basically saying is if I could go back and do it all again I would actually end up working even harder… 🤣

Pregnancy and postpartum has definitely thought me a few life lessons and one was showing up for people... I was always available when people asked or even when they didn't ask id offer... Learnt I was very much on my own and I have withdrawn myself a lot. Same with work I couldn't give a f... About going the extra mile , I do my bit and get my wages

mine was meant to be planned and I got my date at 35 weeks. It was originally booked in for 36+6, not sure what that was based on, baby did have a two vessel cord and slow growth and my first baby my waters broke at 36+5 (not sure if that made a difference to my date).

ended up having an early section at 36+1 because of bleeding again and slow growth again 🙃

Haha this is basically what I think - I really SHOULD slow down and take things easier, but I know full well I won’t because there is so much to be done! I can’t just opt out and not do all the things everyone else has to do because I’m pregnant - it’s just one of those things. Saying that I am definitely getting too tired, but can’t really see another option apart from what I’m doing else things won’t get done!
