Thanks everyone! He is here, he’s very little (4lbs 9oz). MrDragName and I are obsessed with him. He was hard to get out so an extra cut had to be made in my uterus which means if I were to have any other children I would not be able to have a VBAC. He needed a little bit of breathing support so a whole paeds team came and I was away from him for a little bit which was the worst, but MrDN got to him really quickly, took some photos and stuff and lots of people kept me updated. It wasn’t long till I had him and now I can’t put him down!
Actual section was ok. Weird feeling, lots of tugging and I took a while because he was quick stuck up there.
He’s the best
Baby Muff arrived early this morning - and she’s a she! Very big surprise. Gas & air and some codeine. We were too far gone For an epidural. So ummm OWWWWW. We’re both doing well and I’m just glad I don’t have to be anxious about movements anymore!!!!
Today is the day! We’re in our sexy surgical gear, I’m hangry AF, the first baby is back already which made me dead emotional. I have gone through all the possible emotions already since we woke up but I think I’m feeling ready!
Had my 12 week scan this afternoon! Was so anxious about it, just thought it was gonna be bad news I don’t know why, but no Lil Parsley #2 is looking all good. They were so wriggly and turned away from us and did a little wave to us too 🥹 I’m so excited now!
Joining this thread finally. After been told earlier this year we were being referred for IVF, I am now nearly 8 weeks pregnant with no IVF.
The nausea every day is horrendous and all I want to eat is crisps and freezing Coke Zero . I have to say though since finding out it has completely consumed my brain!
Such awesome tips from c section mummies. I’m just reading all of them and thinking man how fucking amazing women are. Major surgery and it’s a spot of ibruprofen after
I tore both times - didn’t feel it as I was high as a kite on gas & air. But can you imagine men walking around with stitches in their penis and having to breastfeed/ look after a baby?! Sheeesh. Having said that though my husband is pretty incredible and I do have a son so now I feel guilty for man bashing because he is the most wonderful little boy.
Twinnies are two baby girls. Can't actually believe it. I'm in complete shock as I'd convinced myself they were boys and I was forever going to be a boy mom!!! Straight to next to buy some clothes
The boy ended up being a 1st percentile baby despite charting as a bang average 50th percentile one. I’ve also learned that my uterus was ‘twisted and malformed’ which probably explains 1) why he was so high up and stuck 2) why he is so little 3) why I am in absolute agony from the healing process. But he has gained 200g since his birth on Friday and impressed the midwife with his big hands and feet so I think it won’t be long before he is knocking about looking the same size as everyone else.
Last night was hell on earth, our first night at home. He did not want to settle, we were absolutely delirious with fatigue so it wasn’t even safe for us to be holding him like he wanted, I was in agony, we were all tied first equal for who cried the most, my hormones were obviously a complete mess so I’m holding him and sobbing my heart out even though he was fine and I was fine. But, we somehow made it through and now it’s a new day and we’re still pretty exhausted but we’re tackling it all again.
I’ll tap out and move over to the next thread haha! I don’t want to put anyone off, I have no regrets at all, he’s my miracle boy and I’m so glad he’s here
Dropped off the thread after being hospitalised at 34 with severe pre-e and kept inpatient til delivery. Was induced at 36 weeks, but mid induction ended up having an ECMS. Little man had a few days in HDU and then a big stint of phototherapy for jaundice and various other premie related ailments but is a lil champ/we've been very fortunate that he's premie but not THAT premie. There were mutterings yesterday that we might be discharged today.
My only advice for C-section aside from all that has been advised already is there's no prizes for stiff upper lip/suffering, so for goodness sake take the painkillers prescribed to you on the schedule they recommend, don't treat it like having a headache at home where you wait til your head is banging before you take it. Managing the pain is integral to general trend of recovery.
Took me two days of letting myself run two hours past when I could have my next dose or more, being in agony and then unable to move, seizing up in bed, which then made it even MORE painful to move and so on. Once I started remembering to call the midwives when I was due meds it made it so much easier to just actually exist.
(There's no need to bring your own pain meds and if you do they likely will prefer that they prescribe to you as then it's all managed on their systems and there's better handover/continuity between shifts.)
Oh and on that note probably notebook and pen, or make note on your phone when you took them and when your next dose is due. Cos midwives are usually rushed off their feet and will turn up eventually to proactively offer you meds but don't mind you buzzing them to ask.
Oh and probably, but just general advice to birth related hospital stays (as I'm now on 20 days inpatient lol), don't feel like you're bothering the midwives. It's their job to be bothered by you and they want to help you, it's why they do their job. Some are wankers but the vast majority are angels, and I've made up for the fact we had to cancel our NCT attendance by all the free baby boot camp training and wisdom I've managed to get off them about looking after Kestrelbaby and so on.
Had some bleeding today I’ve got a scan booked at the EPU tomorrow. I’m only 9weeks so it’s quite worrying. Fingers crossed everything’s ok with my little bean
Struggling today. Feel like my toddler doesn’t love me as he prefers Dad and has done for months. I know I’m being irrational and parental preference is normal especially at this age and especially when you’re pregnant but just feel like a rubbish Mum. It just kills me he wakes up every morning and asks for Daddy, cries when Daddy leaves the room, wants cuddles with him but not really me. Feel like I’ve done something wrong. I know I need to not take it personal and I’ve got a whole lifetime of not taking it personal with kids but I’m just a hormonal mess
And scared it’s going to get worse when baby is here.
I had a faint positive this morning. I tested again 2 hours later (couldn’t help myself) and it was a very very faint positive. I will test again in the morning. I am hoping to be in this thread for real quite soon
Ended up on the maternity ward being monitored last night after excruciating pain really down low. Turns out both breech babies decided to FLIP at the SAME TIME and now they're both head down. Never experienced pain like that before!!! 28 weeks this weekend and my god there is no room left.
Back in this thread after having Baby Parsley in the first half of 2024. Been feeling sick and tired the last few days so suspected and found out the good news this morning. Please manifest for me that I won’t have GD this pregnancy!!!
Also shitting myself about telling my boss because I’ve been back at work not even 6 months yet LOL
Hi everyone, first time posting here as it's still quite early for me but I had a private scan this weekend as I haven't reached 12 weeks yet and apparently I'm having twins! I'm completely freaking out but also so excited. No idea what's instore for me
